  1. And dilute the product further who’s going to pay to watch that
  2. Regardless of all of this they now need to sign a rider as the facility has ran out
  3. A friend of mine asked me the other day if I still go to Speedway but I said I didn’t because we had a young child but I was thinking of coming back this year as he’s older but when I saw the team it just did not appeal to me and I thought I would give it a miss, in all the years I’ve been there has always been a standout rider or riders going back to my first meeting it was the Owen brothers and mr blackadder all characters and pure racers had u wanting to go every week this team is just a bit bland, all the years I have been going to speedway you bump into people who say “I used to go to speedway when such and such was riding” now I’m one of them and I can understand why.
  4. As I’ve said earlier looks like they are waiting for Robson to be fit and rose to come back, with 10 points to play with I can’t believe that no one is available it’s not as if there hasn’t been plenty of time
  5. So we use another teams reserve as our heat leader and carry r/r really and they expect a good crowd ????
  6. Exactly he’s not a no 1 and as I’ve said before it’s the way the team is made up that makes him exposed, if he is getting beat by opponents of same average and above and wining the odd one to me he’s doing his job, the criticism I have with him is how many times he looses to reserves and second strings is more than it should be, i think we need to be looking at others before Lindgren as they are not performing anywhere near what they should given their experience,it must be proving difficult to get replacements so wouldn’t surprise me if they are waiting for our riders to get fit, don’t go anywhere near as much as I used to but if I did I would feel really short changed watching so many guests and rider replacements in meetings at the moment
  7. The crux of the problem is that he is not a no 1 so his performances aren’t highlighted as much when at 3 or 4, he is so inconsistent and an enigma not one of my favourite riders but it’s due to the team build up he’s coming up for so much stick the same thing happened a couple of years ago, you can’t just expect a 7 point rider to be a no 1 they are a 7 point rider for a reason(inconsistency) you can’t expect him to constantly knocking in the points worral and lambert bagged as they were 9 point riders, it would appear mechanically he could do better but if there is any blame it’s in the team make up, as I’ve said before if he rides to his average that’s all he can do.
  8. My point is that if he rides to or above his average then criticism is unfair but if he’s riding below that then it has to be taken on board, that however is the same for all of the riders
  9. Your probably right it’s not his fault the way the team has been built, the only thing he has control of is riding to his average or improving it which unfortunately he is not so has to come in for some criticism for that
  10. We all know he’s not a no 1 and to be fair he has been put in a difficult situation by the make up of the team/promotion but 3 points even for a no3 should be better, however it’s the first meeting of the season,no practice day got to cut him a bit of slack if he rides to his average there can be no complaints
  11. For a team like ours to do well you have to look at riders who are going to improve and put a couple of points on their averages and I can’t really see that happening, that’s what happened with the well fabled Hull team, remember what happened last time lingren was no 1 (not his fault as he’s not a no 1 )
  12. 2 points under the limit, we are really going to struggle smacks a bit of desperation , probably one of the weakest teams I have seen in a long time and sorry for saying this but not one to drag my lazy a*** back anytime soon.........sorry
  13. Is that because of the weather/track or cause we don’t have a team yet
  14. It’s a fine line and the promotion have had to build a team probably on the worst case scenario in terms of crowds which is the right way to go and if the team is successful it will bode well for next year, what this team won’t do from the start is attract people like me back who have drifted away from the sport for one reason or another, however my concern is this team could struggle and that could have a reduction in the die hards who attend which could be disastrous, but start winning a few and produce exciting racing and you never know.........fingers crossed
  15. I think the longer it goes without getting a no1 the more worrying it gets, seems we must be struggling to get someone and might just end up with anyone, season starts in about 3-4 weeks
  16. Does anyone know when/if a decision about Kenneth/Nichols will be made
  17. Have to agree heats 13& 15 so important not to get out scored in them as they can generally set the outcome of the meeting Thorpe and lamb at reserve awesome both ended up as heat leaders
  18. I'm not concerned because George will be doing whatever is best fo Newcastle speedway and will be trying his utmost to makes sure we're on track and competitive to the best possible means
  19. One of the main things that has caused my apathy with speedway is the doubling up/down and to many guests I just couldn't be bothered to go to meetings when you didn't know who was riding and I think the straw that broke the camels back was I think it was Sheffield in 2016 (might be wrong) who turned up with 5 guests and I had to explain why to my 9 year old and I though this is stupid and killing the sport In my opinion this is the most important promoters conference ever and the need to put the interest of speedway before the individual is paramount will it get put right .......probably not......I doubt very much if I'll be back until it does........wont hold my breath
  20. And ther in lies the problem our league has been sacrificed by the bspa to the benefit of the so called elite league and messers van Stratton, ford, Russell
