  9. Lol Bavarian, have you ever seen iceracing? OK there aren't many young riders getting through, but I don't call it boring to be honest. Had an amazing weekend in Sanok. The saturday was not the best racing because the lineup was a bit wierd and unfair (Kononov racing against Birn for example). BUT the sunday event was realy good. Saturday pics: http://www.baansportfansite.nl/nieuws/285/sanok-cup-zaterdag-.html Sunday pics: http://www.baansportfansite.nl/nieuws/286/sanok-cup-zondag-.html And yes; on one of the sunday pics you will see Krasnikov having a go on an speedway bike!!!
  10. Anyone from this forum going to Sanok? I'm heading there tonight... Will provide live updates on the following links: Saturday - http://live.baansportfansite.nl/event/31/sanok-cup-kwalficatie.html Sunday - http://live.baansportfansite.nl/event/32/sanok-cup.html
  11. Lol, this is a much bigger event, including live coverage on Eurosport in loads of countries .... win win for the speedway fans, surely they can move their meetings

  15. It's in this years edition as well lol. But it's not going to happen, there are not alot of clubs who want to stage a FIM meeting due to their demands. One of the members of the Ice Speedway UK group on Facebook made a very sensible post a few days ago (after the pathetic news of the challenge cancellation): "a real pity but do not understand that the FIM does not have a back up available, every normal thinking person already saw this problem coming up a couple of weeks ago. Why not try to arrange something with for example with Sanok they have organized a qualification earlier and have an artificial ice track available in that weekend. If the FIM have a little bit less demands and supprt the organizers financially than I think that Sanok was willing to organize the qualification together with their Sanok Cup. Again, to my humble opinion, the FIM does not do the sport a favour." I think he's spot on.
  16. Probably because an amateur meeting with 100+ heats has much more riders and classes. With an league meeting with 15 heats you have just a few riders who do need some time between the heats... with an amateur meeting this is no problem, because there is always some other racing going on to fill the gap.
  17. What a shame... quite easy to make up the draw now Koltakov, Khomitsevich, Ivanov, Kononov, Makarov, Zorn, Simon, Bauer, Pletschacher, Svensson, Lindstrom, Knapp, Klatovsky, Aakko and Stellingwerf.... plus one wildcard each GP weekend.
  18. The challenge in Sankt Johann is cancelled, and guess what... the FIM has no backup.... They are now going to seed the 15 GP riders
  19. Hmm yeah lol, strange that Google translates Zlotys into Dollars haha.
  20. Big news from One Sport this morning; they are going to organize a Best Pairs competition this year. In total there will be three rounds and there is 1 million dollars zloty's prize money. All rounds will be broadcasted LIVE on Eurosport. 28.03 - Round 1 - Torun (PL) May - Round 2 - probably Landshut (DE) May - Round 3 - Scandinavia, probably Sweden More info here: http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=nl&sl=pl&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fsportowefakty.pl%2Fzuzel%2F409862%2Ftrzy-rundy-speedway-best-pairs-milion-zlotych-w-puli-nagrod
  21. Update: 17.05 and 31.05 are now confirmed as the first 2 rounds of the Dutch Speedway League.
  22. Latest news is that the European semi final has been scrapped and therefore the final will be staged over two days. There are not enough riders interested to stage an semi final.
  23. The calendar for the Dutch (and Belgian) speedway meetings has been announced a few days ago. It's not entirely sure what kind of meetings will be raced, but the dates are fixed now. There is a chance that there will be quite a few Dutch Speedway league meetings in 2014 including one in Belgium, but this is all to be confirmed. April 19 - Blijham (NL) - open practice 26 - Heusden-Zolder (BE) - open practice 27 - Heusden-Zolder (BE) - Helzold Speedway Championship Mai 17 - Blijham (NL) - DSL, round 1 31 - Veenoord (NL) - DSL, round 2 June 09 - Blijham (NL) - International speedway 21 - Heusden-Zolder (BE) - open practice 22 - Heusden-Zolder (BE) - DSL, round 3 July 06 - Lelystad (NL) - DSL, round 4 August 23 - Heusden-Zolder (BE) - open practice 24 - Heusden-Zolder (BE) - Gouden Helm Speedway September 27 - Veenoord (NL) - Golden helmet October 05 - Lelystad (NL) - Dutch Open Looks pretty promising considering last years disaster (cancellation after cancellation). More info soon!
