Does the ACU not have a rule to make an exception? Over here in NL they do.... if you show the federation that you are capable to ride a 500cc bike then they will give you a license. Ofcourse you can then only ride in your own country..... I remember some Dutch kid trying to ride in Germany (longtrack) last year, and they refused him on the race day to compete because he was too young. They did accept his entry form, but forgot to look at his DOB lol ....

Can't believe some of this nonsense which is posted here. One Sport is doing an awesome job and we all know that. LIVE speedway on Eurosport in many many countries. Don't think there are many other big projects which promote speedway in this way. Typical beheavior from the BSPA/ACU (whatever)... it's the same with not bothering to send riders to the FIM Europe meetings. They just can't give a crap about racing abroad, or giving their riders a shot on foreign tracks so the'll get noticed. I'm sure Harris, Woffy, Cook would love to have a go in front of a big crowd, including TV coverage on Eurosport. Surely 'they' can move a few dates from their leagues around, they do it all the time when it rains or when they can't get their tracks together. Who cares that One Sports entered their dates after the deadline of the international competitions, this is BIG and LIVE, what else do you want? -
Gorzow's lineup was a joke lol... only 2 Gorzow riders, the rest were guests. Nice meeting though, never been to Zielona Gora before. Only 10 zloty to watch was a big plus too. I've uploaded some pics here: http://www.baansportfansite.nl/nieuws/326/trainingswedstrijd-zielona-gora-tegen-gorzow.html Hope it's better on sunday when Gorzow meets Torun for a challenge.

I can't wait for this! Going to Zielona Gora on the way back to home (saturday) for their test match against Gorzow, good weekend in prospect. -
Will get interesting for sure! Have fun taking snaps there, I have to give it a miss....

Crazy ticket prizes if you ask me... 30 euros for a standing place is way too much lol. Drinks and food were not allowed, even a coffee can was taken away from an angry German fan. They also took my Red Bull cans of me because they were 'dangerous'.... Wonder what they will do next year. Hans Weber was awesome. He can't gate, but he can overtake! Would be cool if he gets the Inzell wildcard Heard Sven Holstein will replace Antti Aakko in Inzell.

Dutch/belgian Speedway 2014
DutchGrasstrack replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in International World of Speedway
Yes, four teams will compete. Blijham, Lelystad, Veenoord and Heusden-Zolder. Four meetings in total haven been planned (see above), should be good. -
Bauer got his broken arm fixed with a plate and seven screws... he plans to ride again in Inzell in less then two weeks.

Yeah Bangma was not happy, he only did half of the practice as well. To keep him going, a big ice speedway fan (Fedde de Boer) started a crowd funding page on Facebook. Bangma invested alot of his own money to buy his own bike which was completly written off after his crash. At the moment a total of 800 euros has been collected plus he will get support from a few companies (including the Dutch federation and Icespeedway Assen). Hope to see Dirk in Berlin (I did hear though that he could not go, but not 100% sure)!
-
Both still need to get their own bikes though. They used to ride on Tuinstra's bikes, but he sold one of them. Therefore de Jong had to race on a 'show model' from the Assen club which is not entirely setup for todays icespeedway racing. Ruben had a go in the thursday practice, but after he crashed he thought it would be better to stop riding on it... Robert-Jan Bangma crashed his (own) bike in practice when he tried to avoid Ruben. Bangma therefore used the show model for the race on friday eve, did not race as good as his won bike he admitted....

Teterow / Gustraw
DutchGrasstrack replied to whowasthatberntpersson's topic in International World of Speedway
The WTC semi is in Teterow 06.06 Gustrow - Junior challenge (speedway) 07.06 Teterow - Bergring rennen (longtrack) 07.06 Teterow - WTC semi (speedway) 08.06 Teterow - Bergring rennen (longtrack) 08.06 Gustrow - pfingspokal (speedway) If you go by car (from Calais for example) you can also go to Blijham/NL on the 9th for an international speedway meeting. It's only an 45 minute drive extra -
"The FIM decision is also an obvious attack on the One Sport company, whose conflict with the organizer Grand Prix - BSI has been known for a long time." Typical Sportowefakty propoganda.... FIM and BSI are bad boys bla bla blaaa. I'm not to sure about this, does anyone have an official FIM statement?

The second part of all the tools/bikes arrived today, so looks all good for this weekend

2014 European Speedway Championships
DutchGrasstrack replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in International World of Speedway
According to Sportowefakty the FIM made a new rule wich says that FIM riders can't compete in FIM Europe meetings .... More here: http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/416908/fim-po-cichu-ograniczyl-zuzlowcow-fim-europe-nie-bedzie-miala-racji-bytu
