SoN will have to be postponed or even cancelled for this year. The semi-final at Landshut can not go ahead on April 28. All sports activities in Bavaria for the months of March and April are already banned.

Covatti returns to Britain from his homeland ARGENTINA, where he has spent the winter months!

I still think it should be 3,2,1,0 points in each and every speedway race. It is perfectly acceptable for a speedway race to result in a 3-all tie. If it happens in a knock-out semi-final or final race, like can be the case in the SoN, simply use the points scored in the previous 42 qualifying heats as the deciding factor about which pair should get the win. In no way do I favour a differnt point scoring system for any of these pairs racing events, such as the 4,3,2,0 which was often used in Britain and favoures the second and third placed riders over the first and last, or the latest FIM Version for the 2020 SoN which is 8,5,2,0 points, which favours the race winner and the last placed rider over the secdon and third. First and fourth is equally as good as second and third. The poinst System should not be changed at all. A 3-all should always be a 3-all, just find different criteria to decide which team progresses or wins in a knock-out competition. Why not use the total points scored from the qualifying heats to break a 3-all tie? Such a system would make the qualifying heats even more important. The pair entering such a knock out race with a lower points total need a 4-2 or 5-1 to advance/win, while the team with the higher qualifying points total aims for a 3-all or better.

Aki Ala-Riihimäki is an interesting name from the past. Is he planning a genuine comeback to the sport or is it just a one-off appearance in this meeting?

Just in .. the Russians win the final heat in Berlin by 13 to 2 over Sweden
-
It would not matter if the Russians drop a few more points in the heats. Points scored in the heats don't Count in the A and B finals, and as long as the Russians finish in the top two after 42 heats and two days of racing, they go into the A-final, where the gold medals are decided in that single race to be won by the individual rider who crosses the finishing line in first place, thanks to F.I.M.'s new 8-5-2-0 point scoring.

Found this on YouTube: a couple of female speedway riders, 50 years after Fay Taylour, these two rode in an indoor speedway match race series at the Wembley Arena (ca.1980). Miss Bobbi Hunter (USA) vs Miss Madeleine Fundín (Sweden)

There's no speedway in South Africa either anymore, but Castagna says they want to stage an SGP there. Likewise in Southeast Asia, which is another targeted area for an SGP. -

Bavarian replied to WembleyLion's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Castagna promised us that the SGP will be taken to new places outside of Europe. Here we go, to Patagonia in 2022 ! I only hope they will bring the SGP to Perth, now that would be a great location with a traditional speedway background ! -

Bavarian replied to Bavarian's topic in Grasstrack, Sidecar, Short Track and Cycle Speedway
New Zealand's national sidecar championship at Gisborne this Weekend (Jan.17/18/19) was unfortunately completely rained-off (re-staging date t.b.a.) -
All of a sudden Perth seems to have become a top location for a speedway fan to be now with racing taking place at both Pinjar Park tracks AND the Kwinana Beach Motorplex.
