  1. To me the heat races now seem like they are just qualifying races before the proper final race, whereas formerly when every point scored counted for the championship, it felt much more like every heat already was a true world championship race.
  2. This is what Patryk Dudek told the Polish media (Sportowe Fakty) after yesterday's SGP in Landshut: “We spoke to Phil Morris before the race to make sure he was careful with the watering and that we didn’t use too much water. The track is loose, and the organizers had added extra surface material. It was a complete disaster. We fought throughout the entire race to get Phil to stop watering. When he finally did, the track was safer, and the final races were actually entertaining. We just point out problems, but we can’t change them,” Patryk Dudek continued. No wonder Patryk Dudek was so upset. The competition was truly dangerous. Our representative suggested that the speedway riders lacked influence and that perhaps the fans should take matters into their own hands. “It’s not about breaking bones. When we talk to Phil Morris during a race, he expects respect. Of course, we swear because we’re pumped with adrenaline. Maybe the fans have the necessary influence,” Dudek said.
  3. yes, and it was even worse for Brady Kurtz, the last place in the LCQ ruined his results completety. I am convinced that the riders do no longer give it all during the heat races, since those points scored do not count for the World championship anyway now. The old system when every point won on the track actually counted was much better. Zmarzlik just took it easy last night. He took no unneccessary risks, won only one race, but still ended up on the rostrum in the end, right behind Bewley, who rode so much better and had won all five of his heats. I just don't think this system is fair.
  4. The second half of this SGP wasn't too bad, but the first half was a strain with the track resembling a swamp. It is not the first time Phil Morris has set a track under water. Why again and again?
  5. I was at Landshut last night, and Team GB thoroughly deserved theri triumph. They were head and shoulders above the rest, even though it was strange for us to see Leon Flint struggle to score points on what is his Polish league home track. Germany was genuinly believeing we could beat Great Britain at Landshut. Our hopes were dealt a blow when Erik Riss fell ill again, and currently neither Hausl nor the newcomer Skupien are adequate subsitutes for Riss. Huckenbeck and Blodorn did what was expected of them, Wolbert was not quite as good as expected, and in the end even the Czech wer placed ahead of the Germans. There was not much excitement for the 5,100 crowd last night at Landshut. They had expected a better fight for the victory, but the track was once more put under water by Phil Morris, and even when it began become better (the best race of the night was the Lambert v Blodorn battle in heat 7), another extensive track grade after heat twelve seemed to spoil it again and destroy the possibility for the riders to overtake manoevres on an outside line. I was a nice evening, the weather was good, the organisation of the event nearly perfect, but there was not a lot happening on the track last night. Less than a handful of genuine overtakes, and all in all not much good racing, unfortunately. It could be exactly the same for tonight's SGP, if they are unable to prepare a better track.
  6. Quite a spectacular crash of Amber Kramer, the only female rider in this meeting. She was really fast, but came off, and her bike unfortunately collected an other rider, SImon Meier, who seems to be injured. Amber Kramer is back on her feet again.
  7. Live updates from heerenveen of tonight's Roelof Thijs Bokaal meeting start at 6pm UK time https://live.baansportfansite.nl/event/1222/roelof-thijs-bokaal-heerenveen.html
  8. yes, indeed, Wroclaw v Zielona Gora, will be live on YouTube this Friday evening (start time 7.30pm UK time)
  9. Absolutely no chance to ride. He has posted this picture of his injured left leg today. https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=1558997819559189&set=pcb.1558988116226826
  10. Are any of You happy with that? Marcella? I am not amused!
  11. could it be Mikkel Bech, who has just announced his comeback https://speedwayligaen.dk/mikkel-bech-goer-comeback-klar-for-slangerup-i-2026/
