  1. lol - may just stand a chance then!!!!! Sorry for being dense but what is it you dont like - the name / the riders / the performance?? All three maybe?? The riders wouldnt change whatever you called them so why not get behind them?
  2. LOL - Not watched the Sky version yet (just cant bring myself to do it yet!) but I think we got that feeling in the stadium too!! That is totally up to you and we all make choices - no problem there. Not sure whether you are saying you dont like the whole International thing or the GB v England debate. My view on the GB v England arguement is: If you call it England then you close the door to any Scots/Welssh or Irish who come along in the future and they (scots etc) need to register as an indepedent nation for the benefit of this tournament. The fact there are only English riders at present is just a temporary measure - long term temporary maybe but the door is open for all.
  3. That said - why bother with this whole event then. I accept your point of view but the arguement to that is - they are riding for their Nation therefore that goes along with it. If it is just speedway meeting then drop this whole competition - they are riding for National pride and for the country. Not individual glory, thats what the GP series is all about. As it happens the National Anthem used at brandon was absolute pants and it was very hard to get any motivation from it at all. We just looked at each other and said - "What is this?" A very disapointing choice. But we wont need to worry about an anthem unfortunately. Thursday is in Denmark, therefore the Denmark anthem will be played so no gee-ing the boys up from that Im afraid. And I doubt we will hear it at the end of the meeting either.
  4. Very nice to meet you too. And I must remember its BTL not BLT!!!!
  5. Not sure Iris but reading between the lines there I reckon thats a street that good abiding citizens should not have gone down - however well lit it was!!
  6. Correct!! The only thing good about the local area was a Pizza place not far from the stadium which baked Pizza's that were too big to go through the fron door faceup!!(The Aussie Haunt I believe!) But that was a s good as it got!!!
  7. Christ - around heat 13 tonight I was beginning to wish I was at home waching the TV, pottering on the laptop and having a few drinks. Im actually glad I was at the stadium as I think the last few thread on this forum have actually been more depressing than being at the meeting. Middlo, Lynch, Rosco. Who knows but right now - this week, we should all be trying to get behind what we have. Debate the future of the manager once this week is over. Chanel that agression into something positive for cripe sake!! Unless of course you revel in the glory of GB being cr*p!
  8. just watched the forecast before heading off to bed - dry, dry, warm and dry!! Bring It on!!!
  9. It must be possible somehow. I remember earleir in the season when Rory Schlein was injured in Poland he and Jason Crump flew home that night into Manacher (I think). SO check out Manchester airport and arrivals on a Sunday and work backwards
  10. Got mine today - delivered through the letter box - the normal way!!!!!
  11. Not got mine yet. So please dont decide to strike or do anything silly in the next 48hours and I would be very grateful. After that you can do whatever you like to keep your jobs in Coventry
  12. Hi Volt Really pleased you had an awsome trip. Sorry we didnt get to meet up but next year when you mix it with us ordinary folk (sorry Lady S!!!) your head will be swirling!!! Only 300 and something days to go!! And as SCB says - all willing to offer help and advise so post away when your planning starts
  13. Allen is due to return on Monday but as VV says - will they be 100% fit and that is a big doubt. Of course they wont - the injuries sustained with Nicholls and Harris wont be fixed in a couple of weeks but is an 80% fitness level better than the reserve replacements? These guys ride through the pain barrier so my guess is yes - they will be ready whatever level of fitness they have. But how many riders should Lynch have on standby - just in case?
  14. But you have to have the finance to pay for it!! Its not like popping across to Europe from Dover and driving a few hours in a van!!! You have to pack up bikes, crate them, go through all the customs hassle, pay a lot for the priviledge and then do it all again on the return (including any broken bits otherwise customs get a bit funny!!!!). This trip costs £1,000's to put together and the reward (financially) never meets it. These guys have ambitions but they also have families and commitments. Sub - Im sure they would be very grateful to you if you could source the funding for a trip like this. Now lets see - how many of them are there??????
  15. Oh -stop it - your winding me up now. Go away and do something useful like cut your toe nails!! Cant keep replying as off to shower and then to Eastbourne!! BEHAVE
  16. Thats very sad but now maybe all those who knocked the Bees boys will re-consider their statements
  17. Two statements in red - one is right and one is wrong - you pick!!!

  20. Oh 21st, did I forget to tell you. Good job I told you this evening but I forgot the 50p!!!! Dont think you can blame the organisers (Thats the way I have read your post, apologies if that is wrong) - talking to the Lodge it is normal procedure for all EVENT weekends to increase their rates to £150 per room. So I asume all other hotels do the same. I cant say I agree with it but it is the same all over. You book a Travel Lodge and the prices change from area to area. You wouldnt expect to pay the same for a central London room as you would in the middle of Swindon or Coventry. Market forces dictate the prices and I would rather spend the weekend in London than Swindon or Coventry!!! Thats business for you
  21. Anyone have a link for the Motala updates please and a start time. thanks
  22. Hate to say that I can beat that!!! In the Lodge again - last year we paid £150 a night but by being very 'clever' I have the room for £62.50!!!! So two nights in 2009 is cheaper than one night in 2008!!! More money for entertaining!!!
  23. In the right month now so thougt i would just ask - who is going??? Flights and hotel booked. Flight times then changed by BMI Baby but only by 10 minutes so no real problem. And then there's the hotel. Booked a hotel a while back and thought we had a good price. Just been on line and its £100 cheaper!!!! (Thurs - Sun!!) So booked again and cancelled old booking. Hoping to go back on next week and get another £100 off. Biggest problem was getting stadium tickets -no one was able to answer the question above but managed it after we got back from Gothenburg!!! So World Cup first and then off to Prague.
