  1. Yer - I heard that too. Wonder where your stayin. Shazz we have a Lodge virgin in our midst!!
  2. Keep up Bird - he is in the Travel Lodge. try reading the thread rather than a couple of posts! God - some people!!!!
  3. Dont worry SW - they couldnt take offence. Too many words to make sense of, so they would have stopped reading at the end of the first line!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Thaks for the info guys. I was just too lazy to look it up myself. Volt, when do you fly over and what else do you have planned over here, meetings wise. If we dont meet up at Cardiff it would be good at maybe another track. PM me if you feel brave with some details
  5. LOL!!! But why no Cardiff - its not as if its far!!!
  6. Thanks Volt - and this is how te Coventry Bees Website reported it. Monday 09 June 2008 BILLY Janniro scored a 15-point maximum and won the 'A' Final in the first round of the American Championship on Sunday. Janniro defeated former Bees skipper Billy Hamill in the Final, with talented youngster Ricky Wells third and veteran Mike Faria fourth at Costa Mesa. Other former British League riders in the event - part of a three-round series - were Charlie Venegas, who scored eight, Bart Bast (8), Shawn McConnell (8), Bobby Schwartz (7) and another ex-Covenry rider, Bryan Yarrow, who finished down the order on three. This is the first round - when are all the others Volt?? Thanks
  7. i'll be there - Just need Lioness to sort out the confussion with the David McAllen raffle tickets. Some bloke by the name of Mick thinks they are his but I thought Lioness and I had an agreement!!!
  8. Oh dear - I hope I havent put you off. I may have ben exagerating a little. But it is definately noisy at night. But hey - its only one or two nights. Hope you al have a brilliant time. And if we have a British win (dont laugh) your wife may end up having a welsh baby!!!!
  9. well done SW but unlucky at the same time!!! The Travel Lodge does its job - its wonderfully central and cheap. But if you have a room at the front of the hotel its very noisy for most of the night - that is of course if you plan on sleeping in your room at all!!!!! Stayed there a couple of times but as I now go with some elderly friends she they need a hotel a litle quieter and with seats in the bar!!!! Still 19 sleeps to go - I think our elderly guest was a little premature yesterday!!!
  10. Dont start me off - the best seats of all being outside sat on the ground with ............. sat with me!! Oh hot flushes and its not my age!!!!!!!!
  11. LT - as she does not have he good grace to reply to you I will!!! No - she is not staying there, SHE is staying in the Mercure Macdonald Lodge. WE have stayed there for a few years now and the staff look after us very well. Pop in for a drink - there is always a lot flowing!!!
  12. Flew out from Birmingham yesterday to Portugal on BMI and although the check in queue looked very long it moved quicker than expected. I have a theory - pay cheap prices and treat your journey like a bus ride. Thats all your paying for so dont expect anything more. Easyjet and Ryanair are simply just that - the local co-orporation bus BMI - is National Express and then from there you go up market. As for SkyEurope. - When we were booking for Prague they were a LOT cheaper but a little inside knowledge tells me they are a struggling airline and there is a possibility they may not be around in August. I wasnt prepared to take that chance. I sincerely hope they ride out the problems but I didnt want to be left stranded. They are not long flights so comfort shouldnt be a problem.
  13. the Andel is posh!!! It was voted by the Teplegraph (I think) one of the top ten hotels in 2006. We had a suite in the Andel for 5 of us and it worked out at very good value. And I still have my Andel slippers!!!!! Area 1 is centre of Prague - for drinking and shopping etc and the numbers get bigger as you head out of the Cente
  14. saves me PMing you LW. I have to sub her mind u but the prices came way down so she couldnt miss out!!!
  15. yer yer - heard that one before. Will need to meet both of you before I believe it!!!!! Remove the batteries from his hearing aid this year and the wheels from his zimmer frame so he cant look for them!!!! Hey Volt - we generally meet up in a place called the Prince Of Wales Pub. But Cardiff City centre will just we swimming with speedway folk. In every pub in every street. Never seen a sight like it before. Where are you planning on staying? Hope you have it sorted already
  16. Actually 17,458 if I counted correctly!!! (The put the attendance up on the scoreboard really - which is good as I ran out of fingers!) NOT reading 20 pages so apologies for doubling up!! Okay what to say - If I have to sit through another 5 hours of a tractor competition again I will probably do physical damage to the tractor and the driver!!! Obviously the meeting was delayed due to the injuries that were occouring BUT that friggin tractor was so annoying!! At least those back here in their arm chairs had adverts and SKY commentary but all we had was this friggin tractor!!! Should have been Freddies meeting as he was just superb and when Aj went down you could have heard a pin drop in the stadium! Very pleased that it wasnt as bad as it looked - we were 'in the gods' above the incident! Also did you get the interview with Pedersen or was it just broadcast in the stadium. The one where he said - It was his GP and he should have won it but they watered before the final which they said they wouldnt. Not sure if he congratulated Rune and Freddie but by that point no body gave a damn about him!! Sorry to all Pedersen fans out there (I have no opinion of him either way) but that was a little to selfish for my liking!!! So - overall a very interesting GP. felt sorry for Scott, although his non -progression into the semi's was of his own making. But he was 3rd fastest in practice so bit of a shame. Enjoyable weekend, VERY warm and now to cold here in the UK to show the tanned bits. Good meeting up with Nobby and co and also brilliant meeting Tractor Girl and Family. They are such a lovely family and next time - the PIG is mine!!!!!!
  17. Not sure WHY I am admitting to this - I dont think so!!!!!! Mid 40's have class you know!! (And even early 40's!!)
  18. Just tried to book tickets on Ticketstream but it was telling me that their Web security is out of date. I was reluctant to progress in case the site had been cloned. Anyone else had this problem and if so what did they do?
  19. It doesnt on the phone either - I thought you was being serious!!!
  20. So another member with two forum names!!!!!! Cant be more than one Aussie fan coming to Cardif!!
  21. Well decision made- PUB!!!!!! Sorry Nikki I know you are disapointed but as you seemed so upset on the phone I will buy you a ticket for her next concert (when she does one) for your birthday!!!!
  22. oh the irony!!! Im sorry Firestorm but up to now I thought you were of the alternative sex!!! Im sure with that description you will have a queue of forum members all looking out for you now!!!!
  23. Oh my godness - I really dont think this team will progress but what an opportunity for little Kenny to ride with Billy!!! Tommy is experienced but I fear the competition may be a little to much for him. On the last DT tour he got better as the tour went on but this is a one of meetingand he will need to be dialled in straight away. Good luck to the boys but I fear this will not be their year. Out of interest and without stirring things up - why Kenny and Tommy ahead of Neil, Dale or Tim. I havent followed whats been going on in the States so would be interested why this is the chosen 5.
