  1. Hehehe - I remember that one well! The one I don't want to remember is 2004's Panthers - Bees/Bees - Panthers debacle, which I think was on Easter Monday?. I knew I should have gone to Rye House in the evening instead. Oh wells.
  2. Lack of support vs high running costs.
  3. Does anyone know if the prize money in 2005 will still be paid is US$?
  4. Maybe BSI are having a reality check. Big stadia cost big money and look crap on TV when they're only 33% full, whereas smaller stadia which cost less to hire look better when they have a capacity crowd. Also the racing will be vastly better than anything offered by temporary tracks.
  5. I remember going to the 1984 World Longtrack final in Germany (Herxheim?) an talking to Shawn Moran (Or Shawn Moron as the TV commentator called him) through the mesh fence around the pits. I remember the 1985 World Final at Bradford, thinking how steep a drop it seemed to be from the stand to the track. I remember Sheffields special anniversary meeting in which they had 5 rider races! I remember going to to Peterborough the day after we moved here. It was Peterborough vs Mildenhall and the crowd seemed to be huge. And most of all I remember the Panthers and Tigers winning their respective leagues in 1999 and being at both the matches that secured them. Trivial compared to some of the things posted here, but treasured memories none the less. Heres to 20 more years of memories!
  6. No, never been to Austria. Just know a lot about transport. Kind off a hazard of my job. Still, sounds interesting. Might try to go myself.
  7. Fly to Vienna (Wien) then Get an S Bahn train to Wien Sudbahnhof (They run every 30 minutes) then Get a train fom Wien Sudbahnhof to Wiener Neustadt (At least one train an hour taking about 30 minutes). Want more specific details: HAFAS
  8. You'll have to ask my girlfriend about that. I think you could be right about Lukas and Rune. I also reckon on reflection that you could never put together a field of riders that are all capable of winning all of the time.
  9. Aaaaaaarggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Both? How do you know they would be no hopers anyhow. And don't F"$$$*&( call be Shaley. Only Steve Turner is allowed to do that.
  10. Pfuff Looks more like they couldn't be bothered to choose anyone else.
  11. Well, not Rico, Bananana or Sulli for starters. Its hard to say really. I think that for a WORLD championship, it has a distinct lack of nations represented. And I know that i said in my first post that there isn't a field full of GP winners, but surely it would be better to see some other nations permanently represented, rather than just at their home GP by one rider (ie Czech Rep, Slovenia, Norway - assuming they all have a GP next year). Only 6 countries are represented, when they had the chance to make it 9. Well the fact that there's less riders to start with makes it easier to get to the semi finals. And lets be honest, getting to the Semi is one thing, making the final is another.
  12. Oh well, what a cop out by BSI. Thast not a line up with 15 or 16 riders capable of winning a GP.
  13. I still don't think Banananananana Pedersen (aka cardboard cutout) will get in. I reckon it'll be 2 Brits, 1 Dane, 1 Czech and 1 Slovenian or Norwegian.
  14. Hmm, some interesting ramblings in there about a possible return for the German GP and interest from Spain about holding a GP at the Neu Camp. My Lordz!
  15. Rumour has it - and I stress rumour - that the last round will also be at the Millenium Stadium.
  16. That is another arguement entirely. I was offing an opinion based on a concept. ie, BSI might want a rider from each country they have a GP in.
  17. My guess: Richardson 'cos no Brits qualified automatically. Nicholls 'cos of the same reason as Rico. Hans Andersen 'cos hes the top finishing Dane outside of auto qualification. Lukas Dryml cos otherwise there won't be any Czechs in the series. Holta cos hes the only decent Norwegian. Of course we might only get one Brit, cos BSI might be tempted to give Zagar a place which would mean that every country with a GP is represented. I Think. Checks: Australia: Crump*, Adams* Czech Rep: Lukas Dryml Denmark: Nicki Pedersen*, Andersen GB: Richardson Norway: Holta Poland: Gollob*, Hampel (was robbed!)*, Chrzanowski* Slovenia: Zagar Sweden: Rickardsson*, Jonnson*, Lindback* USA: Hancock* * = Qualified by right.
  18. Cool. Yet another chance for Crumpy to make a bollox of it on national tv. Surely it won't happen again!
  19. And he only won the WU21 cos Slabon got a puncture.
