are you trying to get around the little training track ??? you know what to do regarding your position , what gearing are you using ?? i rode that training track once ( excellent fun ) and i think its sumat like a 14 on the engine & 73 on the back , it just spin's & spin's , you have no choice but to get it sideways , then when you have mastered that & need more speed, go up a tooth or two on the front & down a few on the rear , also try put more air in the rear tyre , that helps it to break traction too , make the corner a V shape roll it into turn & blast out , talk to the other lads there , they won't bite you , they will understand what's wrong , good luck & have fun ,

cool even better 6 rider 6 lap race's , hows that for value ?
-
because in my opinion its not a winninng or even a winning formula anymore , one of my mate's ( my sandracing mechanic ) recently attended his first speedway meeting & when i asked him what he thought he said there wasnt enough racing , and with other topics on here regarding improving racing with upright's / laydowns ,tuning cost's , adding weight's , riders insurance etc etc i just thought 6 lap races could solve some of these problems , hey it was just a idea
-
what about 3 laps then
-
exactly plus it would produce even better races , just think off racers like loram/screen etc with another lap or two , & surley the motors would have to be tuned to be more durable to last those extra laps and the extra weight added with more fuel needed should provide closer racing , it would not cost much to implement , every body wins dont they ?
-
maybe nothing to do with this thread but i'm really glad to see jacek gollob still doing his stuff , i met him the first time tomas & he rode in the uk ( pride of the east @ kings lynn in 92 i think ) what a really nice bloke he was
-
oh! and by the way if it ever happens don't forget who's idea it was THE PUDDING , and if the 6 lap races get's slated it was andy m's idea , cos i usually agree with him
-
i know i've added this to other threads , but i'd like to know why 6 lap races wouldnt improve speedway ,
-
andy my opinion still stands cos i only saw him @ lynn & the world final at bradford , thats why i asked what happened to him and now i see why , to many parties , what a shame eh ??
-
i agree , what a rider & a really nice guy too , what happened to him tho ?, i thought he was good enough to be world champion
-
vince my idea of 6 lap races would also add weight to the bikes due to more fuel being needed , we all know you will never stop development of race machines so it needs a different approach thats easy & cheap to imlement , and MY idea would give speedway more value for your money ,
-
why ???? it would be just the same , tuned to the max & still costing £'ssss , six lap races is worth looking at , rider's would need a more durable motor , the insurance will be the same , supporters see more action and it wouldnt cost anything to implement , am i the only one who think it could work
-
would six lap races alter the way engines are built ????? wouldnt they have to be more reliable i.e less tuned ??? which cuts costs , .

steve lomas can still be seen doing his stuff @ mablethorpe sandracing , even tho he is no spring chicken , he shows them the way home in his class 500cc road @ 50+ years young
-
sometime ago ( over 10 years ) i had three third places & a dnf @ a training school match , and one of them was behind glyn taylor & steve johnston ( once sick in my car too ) i was only a third of a lap behind them & i loved every moment of my skidding days , i wasnt any good but enjoyed it all the same , anyone who has a go has my respect
-
i dont know if this helps you , 15 yrs or so ago he was running a cycle shop in keighley & wasn't he the halifax juniors team manager
-
wouldnt it be good if they raced the opposite way round
-
soldier boy was a regular at halifax before it closed , i remember him giving kenny carter grief most of the time , a bit of a love / hate thing going on i think ,
-
i think i remember him , wasnt he really bad ???? and i think it was terry hardacre but im not sure , i was mates with most of the riders , mainly the juniors tho , i would like to get in touch with richard beever , we had some good laugh's together , last i knew he was living in holmfirth near huddesfield , but thats a long time ago , and the last time i spoke to kenny young was over 10 years ago @ bradford ,
-
thanks for that , i will have to watch out for rob & his lad , yeah i remember david clay too , & there was ashley norton , rob tate , gordon whittaker , guy wilson & max schofield was the mascot
-
i would like to get back in touch with some of the boys who rode for the juniors @ the shay in the 80's , richard beever , kenny young , rob manchester etc ,
