  1. Tungate has been banned for 21 days starting tomorrow - Mike Bacon twitter. *Snap!
  2. To me as an impartial observer it looks plain to me that Tungate was crossing the finishing line as Auty was going into the first bend, Tungate kept it wound on round bends 1 & 2 and flicks his back wheel out at Auty on the start of the back straight! Can't see how Tungate can say Auty shut off as he went over the finish line and left Tungate nowhere to go! Guilty as charged M'lord.
  3. I've been saying this for years. The PL should be slap bang in the middle of the EL and NL average wise. We should be looking at 6,8,10 riders looking to step up from the NL to the PL reserve spots each season. Even the top riders in the NL struggle to step up and compete at PL level. The PL is a great product but the like of Stead, Kennett, King, Cook etc are all 6/7 point EL riders and shouldn't be topping up earnings in the PL. Far too much D/U nowadays and the excuse is there is not enough riders. This has been caused by riders not being able to move up the ladder from the development leagues to NL to PL because of team spots being taken up by D/U riders. Lower level riders get disillusioned with the lack of opportunity to progress and get lost to the sport.
  4. Ward tweeted its a joke to ride on that. I personally think the track is over hydrated.
  5. Poland - Hampel, Janowski Sweden - AJ, Sundstrom Czech - Milik, Kus Russia - Laguta, Belousov GB - Woffinden, Harris USA - Hancock, Fisher Aus - Holder, Doyle Latvia - Bogdanovs, Lebedevs
  6. Morris Micklewhite's son. (not a lot of people know that!)
  7. It'll probably be the old retain your ticket and you can be readmitted to any meeting there in the next 12 months!!!!!
  8. It might be you need to 'activate' the silverlight plug in in firefox. Go to the menu (3 parallel lines in the top right hand corner of the screen) and click on add ons. Silverlight should be in the list of add ons and if it says never activate on the right hand side change that to always activate and that should make it work.
  9. Pretty quick scrutineering at Rye House too, 6 minutes from arriving to winning the race, according to Mr Bacon's twitter
  10. So you're saying these flawed talents are working as hard as some of the others? George Best was in training every day, eating the right foods, avoiding alcohol and in bed early before the next days game? Alex Higgins and Jimmy White were dedicated to practicing hours on end every day? Mike Lee and Darcy were in the gym all the time, eating the right foods and avoiding drugs and alcohol? There are many a lesser rider/player who has done everything possible to maximise their talents through hard work and good living and got nowhere near the level of these examples who have not worked as hard which proves that with the sublime talent that some have will still get them to the top of their sport over less talented hard working riders/players, and if they had been dedicated they may have gone further still.
  11. I think this because they don't need to work to get to the top. For example, when as child you get given gifts you take for granted they are always going to be there and you don't really look after them as much as when you finally go to work you realise how much effort you need to put in to get your new toy, be it a car, house etc, and therefore you tend to look after it better as you know how much effort you need to put in to replace it. Its like this with the most talented sportsmen, be it George Best, Alex Higgins, Micheal Lee or Darcy. Where you get riders like say Nicki Pedersen who is not the most naturally gifted rider ever but has made up for that with hard work and determination, he obviously knows how much hard work it has taken to get him to the top and how much it takes to stay there. Its the same with people with money that has come easy. How many footballers and musicians etc do you see who have gone bankrupt after making millions in their short careers, and then wasted it spending at the same rate as they did when they were earning top dollar. If you or I suddenly came into money we would look after it as we would know we would never get the chance to get that sort of windfall again.
  12. I've heard rumours he allegedly puts extra alcohol in his tank before the GP's?
  13. Perhaps the FIM have got to read through all the names on the Wardtorace petition from Facebbok before they can make the decision?
  14. The reason there is a shortage of British riders is the way the 3 leagues are sorted out. They should be stepping stones of equal distance from NL to PL to EL but the step from NL to PL is to steep. The Premier league is too strong and the top riders from the NL are struggling to secure a reserve spot in the PL. Now the NL limit has been reduced where are the riders to step up to PL to allow new riders into the NL the next season? Realistically there should be 8-10 riders looking at moving up from the NL each season but you're lucky if its 1 or 2 new riders. You've even got a top British prospect like Adam Ellis having to drop back to the NL because he can't get a PL place. If its happening to him what hope have we of others moving up? You then get riders who get disheartened being stranded in NL or development leagues who will leave the sport through lack of opportunity to progress.
