  1. Not so long ago Jason Doyle and Nick Morris were the top 2 riders in the top league by average. Now that could have been a fluke, but it would have quite a thing to have fluked it for the whole season. He didn't cover himself with glory last season, but I don't know how much effect the injury had on him. On his average I think he is worth another go. As far as Becker goes I am 100% sure he will be in the team, note the earlier comment about Ermolenko and Correy). So we have sorted the second strings (Morris & Becker) and the reserves (Douglas and Nicol). Just the heat leaders to go. Whoops, forgot about Schlein, 2 heat leaders to go.
  2. Quite Interesting that you would be happy to have a 'bang average' rider in your team. Your description, not mine !
  3. A fair and reasonable post. But would you expect any further improvement on his average ?
  4. Charles Wright I believe is 31, which is not the end of the world. But certainly you couldn't expect a huge improvement at this age, so would this be a case of the average fits ? To refer to the earlier question would you be signing him for home form alone ?
  5. How so ? He rode a year at a big track, and would be moving to a big track. Unless you are saying he is a NSS track specialist ?
  6. Becker had a great debut season and can only get better. I imagine he will ride at No 2 as a second string and I have no doubt that he will make a success of that.
  7. Sensible team planning should be build from the top downwards not bottom up. By announcing Nicol it tells me that CVS and Adams know exactly what the full team is, and as usual will be a close to the points level as possible. Now I might not exactly like the final 7 riders, but in no way is it a 'mess'.
  8. He had a bad season, affected by injury. He was on a bargain average last year, and he is again. I would include him.
  9. Swop, Nicol for Howarth Whoops, didn't see earlier post.
  10. But of a pipe dream I think. Plus, with crowd levels these days, I doubt that we, or anyone else, could afford it.
  11. All we need now is fixtures to fill the dates up ! Oh for the 70's, a match every Friday from end of March to the end of October. Happy days.
  12. He was one of the best Polish riders, in terms of adapting to the track, that I have seen at Monmore.
  13. Dudley Council are the villains of the piece, they have done nothing to help sport, of any type, in the borough.
  14. The publishers have to take some blame, as they have allowed it.....................
  15. I continued to watch my team during the Hamill years but with absolutely no joy that he was part of it. He was suffered.
  16. Have to disagree, the more the merrier, but then I do remember a 19 strong British League.
  17. But as we don't have a new rule, then allowing Swindon to keep the same team would be an exception. So why are they "special" ?
  18. In relation to the the title of this thread. Every team that wins the title wants to, quite reasonably, retain their squad. Swindon are not the first, and definitely not the last, who will have to de-stengthen their squad for the following season. All very disappointing, but that's the way it is. As a Wolves fan, I have had to witness the de-strengthing on a few occasions. Unfortunately, you just have to suck it up. In my opinion no special exception should be be made for Swindon, or any other team.
  19. Well if that is the case, then fair enough. I would love to have Freddie back in Wolves colours. But if that can't happen, then so be it. Even if he doesn't ride for Wolves but becomes World Champion I would be absolutely delighted. Woffy is a Wolves World Champion, but personally I have much more affinity with Freddie.
  20. It may come as a surprise to you, but nobody cares where you are or whom you are with. Keep that stuff for non sensical Facebook.
  21. I have very much enjoyed having Kyle Howarth at Wolves and would be disappointed if he didn't return. Some Wolves fans may say he is going nowhere but he is a good solid second string who gives 100%, which is all good in my book. Plus he is exciting to watch.
  22. But of course you know that it should be 2 out 3 don't you ?
