  1. Not a bad choice for Monmore considering he rode for the Spoons. Should clean-up at reserve.
  2. From the Wolves site : Schlein declared fit to ride. Poole no 7 TBC, replacement signing for Stefan Nielsen.
  3. Easy home win :- 1 We are not riding that well away 2 Poole is not a good track for us. Unlike jokers like Shovlar, I can be realistic.
  4. You are incorrect, Ladbrokes who own the stadium, decided to close the home straight, nothing to do with lack of speedway numbers. In 1996 when Wolves reached the KO Cup final we had to race the 'home' leg of the final at Long Eaton while alterations to the greyhound track were going on. Not exactly ideal eh ? But renting a track, you are totally in the hands of the landlord.
  5. There was an article in the Wolves v Poole programme, that I thought was worth sharing. The article is written by Mark Sawbridge who is the official historian for Wolverhampton. He has previously written a book about Wolverhampton Speedway and is a well respected member of the speedway researcher community. The article states that Wolverhampton Speedway will be 90 years old this year. Furthermore, it is now the oldest track in the world, because all other older tracks have closed or simply don't exist anymore. I am long term Wolves fan, since 1967, but this is still a surprise to me. Long may we continue ! If anyone is interested in the article, PM me.
  6. Adam's "backward thinking" has got him 9 league titles in his locker, and no doubt he will get to his target of 10 before he retires. How many have the Stars got ? Oh that's right, ZERO.
  7. Unless Jacob comes to the party, I think somewhere around 51-39
  8. Apart from 2009, and we didn't win on the night, Swindon is not a good track for Wolves. It will be a heavish defeat. I'd go to Redcar if I were you !
  9. Well I hope you enjoy your visit. If you need any local information, just ask.
  10. Teams from the Wolves site :- Thorssell, Howarth, Heeps, Schlein, Masters, Greaves, Morris Doyle, Allen, Wright, Holder, Lawson, Shane's, Wilson-Dean Jonas Jeppesen out with a broken hand. Shame, always good to see new riders. No Freddie to stop him now, so would be no surprise if Doyle got a max. Peter Adams expecting a tough match and the Rebels not to be under estimated.
  11. I can only wish you the very best with your health.
  12. Yes, that is what the Wolves web-site says. With regard to the tie, I am not hopeful, we really don't go well at Belle Vue. Out at the first hurdle I think.
  13. Not wishing to appear pedantic, but referring to the thread title, isn't this a KO Cup fixture ?
  14. Chill out, this was not aimed at you, but a bit of harmless fun at Steve's expense. However if I I have offended you, I apologise. As for you condition, I have lost a family member to it, so no way would I take it lightly or make fun of it.
  15. I think your description of Shovlar, first time around, was actually about right.
  16. I'm sure he is. I think you mean staunch
  17. Approx 2 miles from the track ( at work) Cold this morning, but dry, so no problems at the moment. Looking forward to seeing Iversen and Lambert ride, particularly Niels.
  18. Of course it could. Rye House at Wolves should one of our toughest tests particularly with so many track specialists i.e. Harris, Nicholls and Robson. At a pre-season talk-in for 2017 CVS was asked why he hadn't signed either of Harris or Nicholls. He didn't reply specifically but did say that he still had his two favourite guests available to him. In 2017, the scores at Monmore were 55-37 and 50-41 but of course Wolves had a good team, that barring injuries, I feel would have won the double. This year it appears that Harris and Nicholls have not started well in their first two away matches and are out of form. It remains to be seen whether they will come back into form or are on a steady decline. There's no doubting that they have contributed much to British speedway
  19. Surely the team that can adapt to Hoddesdon the easiest is Wolves ?
