  1. Recently read an article about James Shanes returning to Poole and thought he would be an excellent addition but then started to think we cannot sign any riders who double up if we remain in the championship and Premiership race nights are set on Monday's and Thursdays, we would also potentially be racing teams who regularly would have lots of guests as they have got double up riders. The only way would be change race day , Seems like Sheffield have lots of decisions to make off track before team building can commence. I would hate to see guests galore on a Thursday.
  2. Looks like you heard it here first !!!
  3. Looks like one is Kings Lynn, He has announced sponsors in Norfolk and Adrian Flux
  4. I think Vaculik will ride at Sheffield if in top league or Leicester if set days in the week as i think Simon Stead will use his relationship to persuade him.
  5. Although the pay per points is increased in Poland and Sweden the riders generally dont score as many points per meeting as every race has GP or better standard riders so means they have mixed results but agreed on a good day they can earn a fantastic amount of money.
  6. Crikey you wouldn't have many paying punters to watch that Sheffield team
  7. £180 - £200 a point sounds a reasonable figure for a GP standard number 1. So they average 9 over 32 meetings ish gives them earnings of about £54k , not a bad living for one country and they will probably earn similar in Poland and Sweden.
  8. Sheffield team : 7.34 Josh Grajczonek 6.64 Kyle Howarth 6.10 Lasse Bjerre 5.06 Lewis Jessie Kerr 4.86 Kyle Newman 2.95 James Shanes 2.00 Georgie Wood 34.95
  9. Riders for Leicester confirmed : Kerr stands in for Lasse Bjerre whilst Cameron Heeps replaces Josh Bates. Both riders are required by Sheffield, who have priority on their services. Not sure thats correct how they will ride though as Heeps average is higher than Kerr's - Kerr 5.06, Heeps 5.25
  10. Hows The weather holding up ? Hopefully any rain will pass over and clear quickly, Forecast still only showing rain until 3pm which will hopefully not be to heavy.
  11. I have just done a heat by heat on the programme, even being conservative i think Sheffield will win 58-34 Sheffields 3 heat leaders around Owlerton are nearly unbeatable, Very good back up with Kurtz And Bates but even if they have an off night hopefully Jan will take up the task and hammer in the points. We will then hope that Edinburgh can cause an upset.
  12. Totally unbelievable.. I'm speechless as I expected to struggle to score 30 points with 4 riders including only 2 riders in top 5 to take a RR ride..
  13. Did you attend.... ?? At the start of the season i was critical of the track and racing but now... Wow majority of races are close and generally have passing... On the Georgie Wood theme, I agree he should have got heat 14 as it was against Bowtell and also how old was Ricky Ashworth when he came to Sheffield as a young grasstracker who had just took to the shale at Belle Vue ?? could he follow suit ?
  14. The away meeting was Sheffield, His favourite track !!
  15. Weather Channel has rain all day, im in Derby and its been drizzly wet all day... Ive made an early decision to abandon my trip
  16. Not had mine yet and ordered last year on day of sale....
  17. Spot on, The peterborough supporters who are slagging Ostergaard and Starke off were clearly not there, Ostergaard was clearly trying as he made the gate and was winning most races but made a slight mistake on bend 3 and was passed and also had mechanical issues in 14, Starke was trying and was very good value for his 5 points, Ive not seen any comments slagging BWD off who only won heat 8 and struggled for points in is other rides although was excellent again on the pace and trying. I Think Sheffield deserve some credit as they were excellent again, making good starts and riding good lines to defend positions. A thoroughly enjoyable meeting again at Owlerton and one of the best races ive seen in 40 years to cap it off
  18. Premiership averages - i though the increase in march for holder and doyle would then reduce so there average was then applicable to all leagues hence all the confusion at the start of the season and lots of championship riders having increased averages in premiership also...
  19. Why will they have less meetings ?? Premiership has 8 teams = 28 matches riding each other twice Championship has 10 teams = 36 meetings riding twice total = 64 Of the above some who double up miss lots of meetings due to clashes 1 big league 18 teams = 68 meetings riding each other twice So more meetings and 18 weeks to fit it in so should work
  20. The new averages are on the SGB website and effective 23/6 Do these now apply to both leagues ?? as there is some very tasty averages for the championship
  21. Perfect Call, it had been bad weather for 5 days, Stox been on at weekend and will have made the track poor and a forecast that had not looked good, would rather see a decent racetrack so the riders can attack it than a bumpy track with no passing
  22. Totally agree Josh has been steadier this year and an increased average speaks volumes, When the team was announced i expected Josh to end up at reserve but credit to him he has chipped in with important points. We need Todd to find some form and we will be ok at home then fingers crossed the away points will follow
  23. We here now... no chance they running this... start Marshall not even out at 7.25
