Since next season even every club in Polish 2nd (almost half-pro) league will have to install airfence if want to get license. They cannot sometimes even afford buying new tyres for next match. But... Safety is the most important thing in speedway now. You say that clubs cannot afford airfences? Well, maybe they should quit signing Gollobs and Protasiewczs or Jagusies for a while and save a little investing in those people safety? They are already rumours than some of top Polish riders will resign riding in Sweden as it started to be hell risky. The stakes are high but fences are still wooden...

Well, Steve and Gohstwalker, many of us (what is pretty weird, many of Leszno supporters) simply cannot understand why it is so hard for him to aologize for what he has done to Jagoda... It would change many people's atitude to him. Just admit that he made that wrong. Is that so much? :/ Anyway, POLES APART.

Polish fans are just shocked. After being punished with a (relatively small) fine for unfair behaviour KK was awarded with Wild Card for Polish GP round in Bydgoszcz... What a lack of costistency...

I wasn't trying to say that Kenneth's behaviour is any strange or something. Sometimes it just seems to be little sulky, nothing else. Every rider has his own way of overcoming stresses and stuff. But I remember when Kenneth was standing on the second step of podium in U-21 Final in 2004 he was more relaxed I guess. Anyway, does anyone has seen his younger brother Lasse riding? It seems like we will have another well riding bloke in next couple years. Take a look. Footage from this year Golden Trophy in Czestochowa. LINK

Kenneth rides for my Polish team - WTS Wroclaw, so I see him very often. I ususally go after meeting to go round the pit and just "take a look over". What I always said was that Kenneth is one of most strange blokes ever seen. He is never smiling, never shows any type of emotions or something. I risk saying that Keneth is the very first mate who leaves pit after matches. I have no clue why it is that way. And to Kosciecha crash... Well, people in Poland already called Bjerre a "bandit", and usually claim that he hit Kostek intentionally. I myself doubt it. Other thing is that many started to be outraged about fact that Swedish league still does not have an obligation to install air-fences an tracks. Strange... Pity that Kostek hit that fence with the same arm he broke last time. :/

Many nice pics from Wednesday final can be found on website belongs to one of the top Polish speedway photographers - Rafal Paszek. If any interested - paszek.net Pics from Wroclaw Final were divided on 3 groups so hit links "czytaj dalej" (btw, it means "read forward") under: 15.08.07 Wrocław - Finał IMP; cz.1,2,3 Have fun. PS. I spent whole tournament in same sector with Sqóra fans and they were just great. -

Today Poland is more concerned about Danny Jeleniewski than Rune. He will regret the tapes from his 1st start for long... He could have been sensation! -

Well it's complicated. As this is re-match, teams were not to announce line-ups again. So line-ups are the same as on Sunday. UNIA LESZNO: 1. Krzysztof Kasprzak 2. Damian Baliński 3. Troy Batchelor 4. Jarosław Hampel (R/R) 5. Leigh Adams 6. Adam Kajoch 7. Jurica Pavlic WLOKNIARZ CZESTOCHOWA: 9. Greg Hancock 10. Sławomir Drabik 11. Sebastian Ułamek 12. Lee Richardson 13. Lukas Dryml 14. Edward Kennett 15. Mateusz Szczepaniak As we all know BEL Thursday set some problems to both teams well there will be "few" changes on both sides. Leszno will probably start with this line-up though: 1. Baliński 2. Kasprzak 3. Batchelor 4. Hampel (R/R) 5. Miśkowiak 6. Kajoch 7. Pavlic Some people believe that Leszno pay Swindon a fine (?) for Leigh and Adams will ride this match. I myself doubt. Swindon needs Leigh, right? On Czestochowa's side there are also "few" problems. Lukas has match at Peterborough (some say that Lukas will join Czestochowa, but Boro's board don't want to hear it and warn him that will be given a fine or suspension if so!) and Richardsson rides for Swindon, right? Maybe Antonio will join Wlokniarz tomorrow. So: 9. Hancock 10. Drabik 11. Ułamek 12. Lindbaeck 13. Dryml or Miturski 14. Kennett 15. Szczepaniak Leigh is the key. Cz-wa to win (I hope!).

As I said. Rune is winning again. No surpsising. He was amazing. Just amazing. But crowd was on Jeleniewski's side as well. He showed that it doesn't matter if you ride in lower league if you have guts and heart to win. Pity that he hit the tapes and slept on his last ht start. Anyway he was the one ho has finished before Holta. Nice meeting. Nice crowd, some good heats. Shame that Sqora did not make the donuts! Cheers! -

Gollob doesn't like Wrocław track and usually refuses to go on full throttle as he claims that track is to boggy. I myself do not see Gollob on the podium. Holta or Walasek I say! But fingers crossed for Swidds! My favourite rider! -

PePe due to his yesterday crash in Sweden (with Zabik) says that he decide whether to start in IMP today. If so, he is to be replaced by Wegrzyk. EDIT: PePe decided to ride! All 16 to go. Go Swidds! Go Ogor! -
Thank you very much! I'm glad that someone understand my "english struggle" at all. Well, Jagoda (as Poles call Jagus due to his second name - "jagoda" means "berry" ) scored maximum that day and Torun won on away in Leszno. KK scored relatively poor that day and came 4th in 15 ht, which Jagus won. After this heat KK came by and took Jagus front wheel with his hook (right?). Anyway Jagus fell down and KK rode away like nothing happened. Take a look at the movie I linked on 1st page of this thread. Regards!

Right, right, I've been even thinking about Mark while writing my words, but I was trying to say that I feel like few things have changed since 2003, 2004. Since that time we have some sort or dominators-era. You know what I mean. Somehow I can't imagine fellow like Mark or Greg to be World Champ again. Not because they have no skills or something, they do! But there is something before few last seasons that people can, hm, feel that one or another rider will get the trophy. Determination? Atmosphere of willingness? I don't know how to explain that. Though it's not possible, it was not some BIG surprise that Nicki beats everyone up this season. He send a warning to others before this season - "look, I want to be World Champ again, I take no prisoners". Yo get me? So did Jason last year, and before Tony did not have to say that, it was obvious as he was on his "final lap", right? Look at Jason, even though he still rocks on he is a half of last-year-Jason. I presume that next year Nicki will do the same. So in my opinion to be World Champion you have to (maybe not be a beast, as I said before) but extra-focused and determined, and sometimes act like an animal. Well until it is on track I can understand it, but I will never accept acting like KK did last time. This is simply showing lack of respect to your rivals. Damn, forget word "rivals", lack of respect to your mates or team-mates (like with Jagus - Smederna). Why to do that? I have my own list of favourite riders who did not become World Champion, maybe because of their atitude or lack of ability to "close the door" and slam your rival to the fence just to be 1st on finish line. I say, maybe. Anyway, some will say that there is Leigh Adams on that list... Well maybe, don't take a chance away from Leigh, he is still riding and fighting. On my list there is Tommy Knudsen, Wroclaw legend. As I am thinking about it, I catch myself on that thought that I really don't want (need) to have Pole as a Champ. I wish I had one in the TOP10 but really charismatic and fair riding bloke. Somebody could give Adam Skornicki a Wild Card?

Tomorrow (15.08) the best 16 Polish riders will compete for Individual Speedway Polish Champion title at the Wroclaw Olympic Stadium track. Here is the line-up: 1. RUNE HOLTA (Unia Tarnów ŻSSA) 2. GRZEGORZ WALASEK (ZKŻ Kronopol Zielona Góra) 3. PIOTR ŚWIDERSKI (ZKŻ Kronopol Zielona Góra) 4. JANUSZ KOŁODZIEJ (Unia Tarnów ŻSSA) 5. WIESŁAW JAGUŚ (Unibax Toruń) 6. PIOTR PROTASIEWICZ (ZKŻ Kronopol Zielona Góra) 7. JACEK REMPAŁA (Unia Tarnów ŻSSA) 8. TOMASZ JĘDRZEJAK (Atlas Wrocław) 9. TOMASZ GOLLOB (Unia Tarnów ŻSSA) 10. SEBASTIAN UŁAMEK (CKM Złomrex Włókniarz Częstochowa) 11. RAFAŁ OKONIEWSKI (Polonia Bydgoszcz) 12. RAFAŁ DOBRUCKI (Marma Polskie Folie Rzeszów) 13. DAMIAN BALIŃSKI (Unia Leszno SSA) 14. DANIEL JELENIEWSKI (TŻ Sipma Lublin) 15. ADAM SKÓRNICKI (PSŻ Milion Team Poznań) 16. KRYSTIAN KLECHA (Polonia Bydgoszcz) R1. KAROL ZĄBIK (Unibax Toruń) R2. MARIUSZ WĘGRZYK (Intar Lazur Ostrów Wielkopolski) My types as a Wroclaw supporter who has seen most of finalists plenty of times on this track are: (lets say I point first 5 with no particular standings) - Rune Holta (great last match at Wroclaw track; no problems with heavy and boggy track) - Grzegorz Walasek (the same as Rune, great match few weeks ago) - Tomasz Jedrzejak (home track) - Tomasz Gollob (only if the track will be slick and hard, otherwise he will struggle to get to the top 5) - Piotr Protasiewicz (always nice riding in Wroclaw) Other mates that can make surprise: - Piotr Swiderski (hometrack; will try to show that sending him on loan to Zielona Gora this year was a mistake) - Wieslaw Jagus (he is in a top form, but never has liked Wroclaw track; mostly struggles to score over 10 pts) - Janusz Kolodziej (?man) I can't wait till tomorrow!
-
Nope... Ref said it was Greg's fault. I have no idea what Greg did wrong. KK is the one who goes on the outside and makes their bikes clash. Greg was chasing from behind but still on the same path. KK left no room. That is my view.
-
Well, for sure it would be grand if Jarek could get to the top 4, 5 in SGP in future, but this whole thread gives me some thoughts; namely I am bit afraid whether it is not that way that you have to be some sort of "animal" if you want to reach the top in speedway? I took a glimpse on last few years final SGP standings and in general only extremely focused and determined riders won the whole series for the couple of recent years. Maybe some dudes are just to soft to be number one. Like Nicki said this year - he wanted to be the champ and simply did all he could to gain the top. Like Jason last year and Tony 2 years before. All of them take (or took) no prisoners during "their" seasons. In Poland there is common opinion that e.g. Leigh Adams is not the one to get the title as he simply rides to gently. So does Jarek. KK on the other hand rides hard and he seems to be extremely focused and determined. But the way he does lot of things leaves lot to be desired. And to the question about Polish league... Well everyone knows that the preasure in Poland is higher and (many of) supporters do not accept defeats. Well, is this right? It gives an extra emotions for sure. :]
-
To be honest I still can't believe how does it happened that no bones were broken there... It was fence smacking on a full throttle.
-
I put the exact dates before URLs.

Shumi, I was trying to underline the situation AFTER the crush. Look, Greg was lying unconscious (http://ckmfoto.com/images/photoalbum/album_152/CKMvsLeszno_ckmfoto_35.jpg) and this... punk was gesticulate something to him. I am not telling that he hit him but people who were closer say various things... Another thing is that ref excluded Greg from that ht. Mistake, I say, mistake... About situation with Jagus - well, he is to pay 7000 PLN fine... Some dudes say that he earns 2000 PLN for one point in Unia Leszno. It's gossip but in every gossip there is a little of true, right? He should have been suspended for at least 1 match. Pity, because it seems that we are losing another rider. Yep, losing because even his home supporters don't want him next season in the UL line-ups. You see, polish league is hell different than BEL. Bests!
-
Yep. He was to ride 1 ht and TRY to score some points. He almost scored paid 3. He is ready to battle in Ekstraliga! I saw him few times on trainings and sometimes he's been winning with Jedrzejak or Slabon. Last time he has beaten Sitera on Saturday training during 1 on 1. Of course he is way more skilled than regular 2007 WTS polish junior - Korbel (loaned from RKM Rybnik). Most important thing is that WTS coach Marek Cieslak (national coach as well) likes to prepare heavy track so Maciej knows how to struggle with grip. I keep fingers crossed!
