  1. Somerset have already released next years price as £14 - £2 cheaper than this years Rye price?
  2. The actual words were "It's my team and I do what I want, if you don't like it don't come" ....and that's exactly what people did - stayed away? For me the problems were caused by charging Elite league prices for a no better than average premier team and then charging sky high prices for the NL. ( He then made the team even weaker by dropping Doyle for Boxall) IMHO by keeping 5 of the team from this year then you appear to be staying with the "No better than avaerage" team Having said that I will give the team a chance and evaluate my attendance after the first month and yes I am looking forward to seeing both Garrity and Bunyan
  3. What I like about you Chris is that you don’t pull any punchers. Basically I agree with you but I may have been a tad more diplomatic. I see Somerset have already announced their prices as £14 next year – will be interesting to see what the prices at Rye are?
  4. I’m not sure if he still does but Bowen’s old man used to be a sponsor at Rye? I went right off him this year with his totally foolish and un-necessary behaviour during a meeting, he ended up getting off very lightly with a fine.
  5. IMO no more than an average team really: Chris Neath had a good 2011 but I can’t see him improving on that and to be winners you need to have riders that are going to up their average. Jordan Frampton, was surprised he is back, look unhappy towards the end of the season. Luke Bowen, in too much of a comfort zone, needs to get away from Rye to improve. Tyson, a bit of a gamble, he needs to have a big year. Richie Hawkins, I think he got more stick than he deserved with lots of people jumping on the band wagon – Personally I’m glad he is back. Jason Bunyan, A really big gamble but I wish him good luck. Jason Garrity, I liked what I saw of him this year and look forward to watching him. If the prices increase at Rye then I will again be picking and choosing the meetings I attend. I hope Len is making lots of improvements during the off season. I agree,
  6. I've seen loads of improvement in him but I did watch him when he roade for Sittingbourne - not had a bad meeting at Rye this year? Bunyan I just don't get - Roynon would be ok
  7. The crowds always used to be around a 1000 + until Len mucked up - again Agreed - Not got off to a good start though IMHO with the same signings yet again
  8. Maybe for you but I will not be attending that's for sure - I have attended most meetings at Rye despite not agreeing with the experiment. Can only see a very poor crowd for this one unless it's some sort of double header or "FREE" entry
  9. I think you will find that Paul has done some editing on the official press release here
  10. Does anybody have any news on this one? Weather forecast is a mixture of heavy rain and showers from 4pm
  11. It's rained in Cardiff for the last hour - tried to ring the track - anyone know if this is still on? Thanks
  12. The forecast is for showers later - does anyone know if this is defo going ahead?
  13. Agree 100% ...but I overheard him say himself that's when he makes his most money because everyone eats and drinks.
  14. No disrespect intended to any rider at any speedway club but it is the promoters fault if people stay away – Len has been very greedy this year and folks have had enough. If you are going to charge the most expensive prices in the league then quite simply you have to offer the best evenings entertainment, which clearly isn't the case at Rye. If Len had kept his prices the same and done his job of PROMOTING, including upping the presentation, then we wouldn't be having this thread.
  15. As a neutral going for the last 5 years I have missed more meetings at Rye this year than the rest of the other years combined – yes to the price, yes to the name change and yes to the outdated presentation. I was also shocked at Len's "take it or leave it" comment a few meetings ago. It looks like quite a few people have decided to leave it.
  16. Have to pick and choose my meetings at Rye this year so with a GP on and very little Chance of a comeback – this one has to be a no-go for me.
  17. That is what I have been saying RB1 - Hammer, nail , hit it on the head!
  18. Always wondered why Len never offered student / concession / family / season tickets
  19. I was just pointing out that Lakeside have a student / concession rate where as Rye don't. ...... and you could be a student
  20. Congratulations on your post the men in the white coats are on the way! Thank you -The medication is a little on the high side
  21. As far as I know yes it is - on my way there
  22. Well when I mentioned things like pricing on another thread it appeared to upset a few people, especially your old mate parsloes. Rye, opps! Sorry I mean Hackney; will be without Ben Morely who is with the Rockets up North. There is a heavy shower forecast for around 7pm tonight so hopefully the track will be prepared with that in mind. Crowds have been poor at Rye this year but I will be attending this one.
