He is. Most seem to think he'll plump for Road Racing/Moto GP and seek to emulate Casey Stoner. I guess selfishly we'd hope that instead he chooses Speedway and Crumpie as the man to match... It's amazing how similar young Arthur's career is so far to that of Stoner, BTW. Like Sissis, Stoner won numerous titles in a range of disciplines BEFORE reaching his teens: FIVE national titles in dirt track racing (what the Aussies call Flattrack or Short Track) and at Long Track at the age of 12; over 40 titles in those two disciplines and 70 State titles before he reached the age of 15! I've no record of if Stoner ever tried out Speedway (you'd imagine with his background that he might well have..); but as we know young Arthur certainly has, with three national championships already at Under 16 level...!! Of course over here we had a talented young Road Racer (who represented the UK in the FIM Youth Gold Cup) as well as being a moto-x and Super-moto champion who turned to Speedway (talking of Lewis Bridger of course...) so you never know with Arthur too... BTW, asked the question before but is there any current bar to him riding for a NL club here..? Seems strange that no-one's snapped him up..? -

Interesting development following the news that Polish club Torun's rearranged play-off meeting has meant the scrapping of Wednesday's Pirates meeting. This from the Poole web-site: Ford's only hope of getting a fixture on for Wednesday is if an agreement can be reached with one or other of the Bournemouth Buccaneers' opponents - King's Lynn or Rye House - after the postponement of the planned double header earlier today. "We will know more about whether that is at all feasible on Monday" said Ford, "but it is something of a long shot. All I can do is urge our fans to stay in touch with the website and local media over the next 24 hours or so". However just checked the weather forecast for Wednesday for Poole and ATM it is VERY bad: Met Office say heavy rain ALL day and evening.. Well, it IS peak holiday season so I suppose we shouldn't be surprised.. Seems a bit fruitless now IMHO to pull out the stops to try and rearrange a fixture for Weds. I understand that Weds 8/9 and 15/9 though, are blank dates so far at Wimborne Rd.: opportunities then perhaps to hold these two NL matches a little earlier...? -

Actually never sat down once!! Wasn't sure which chair the boy Golding uses (am guessing the most sturdy..! ) so wasn't gonna take the risk...!! -
That's good news... You probably won't remember but I first met the two of you when I was announcer at Sittingbourne and you turned up and got Oli a last-minute place in a meeting there. A meeting Oli came VERY close to winning.. I've followed his career with interest since and it's been great to see how well he's progressed at Mildenhall these past two seasons (well season and a half is more accurate I guess..) I can certainly confirm that you were an absolute gentleman then and as a father myself of three teens/early 20s I too would be VERY angry if one of mine had been treated like Oliver has been...

Tell me about it - I've been in there all afternoon: from 1pm to 5.30pm is a long old haul!!! -
I agree and surely with the way certain teams are changing line-ups and with riders falling by the wayside, isn't it at all possible that a team in the NL may yet come in for Oli for the remainder of this season..? Or are you implying Paul, that due to the lost money (or which I agree you've every right to be extremely aggrieved about... )competing in league Speedway again this year for Oli won't be possible..??

Arthur was immense today in the Short Track TT at the NA. He's clearly one of the most naturally talented and all-rounfd gifted young motorcyclists in the world ATM. A pleasure to see him ride and best wishes to him in whatever he chooses to excel (for excel is what he's certain to do...) in.. -

Jeez, the 'curse of the Parsloes' strikes again... What muppet was it who said that the Buccs have got their meetings all completed before the end of August!! Me natch..! So it looks like play-offs in October (with or without the Buccs..)..!! -
STILL no restaging date for this one..? Surely it can't be that difficult to find a date..? Let me make a suggestion (purely selfish on my part as hope to come up on this date!) but how about an NL double header on Sept 10: combining already scheduled fixture Saints vs. Newport with this one..? As the 'Compare the...' Meercat says, "simples!"..! Also fits the bill for the alleged 12/9 cut-off date for 'qualifying' NL fixtures... Relevant (in p/o qualification terms to not just the Hormets but the Hitmen too...)

God bless the old old British weather: Dorset seaside town in er, mid-August!! What was that the muppets at the Met Office said about this August being a "heat wave"... Cue 21CH who'll explain why/how it is that his pals at the Met Office weren't wrong!!! -

No probs!!! I was there early too and noted you Black Country folk had beaten me to it!!!! Glad that you got a prog as I agree it would've been a shame if you'd missed out... Actually on that subject, Nigel the prog. editor did ask me what Heathens fans thought of our humble effort... So go on, what's your verdict..?!! -

Shocking news about Jerran - get well soon mate. The guest for Sunday's double header (match vs. KL precedes the Cobras..) is Lee Smart. -

Okay!! In that case, check out who he beat when aged just 12 to win the national Under 16s crown: Heat points: Arthur Sissis (SA) 15, Justin Sedgmen (Vic) 14, Clinton Dennis (Qld) 13, Darcy Ward (Qld) 11 , Todd Kurtz (NSW) 9, Alex Davies (NSW) 9, Nick Morris (Qld) 7, Mason Campton (NSW) 7, Robert Branford (SA) 7 -
Can anyone let me know if Arthur Sissis has ridden on a UK track before..? I ask, as the 15-year-old from Virginia, South Australia is appearing at King's Lynn on Sunday in the Short Track UK TT meeting.. According to the details I can find about Arthur, his is as impressive a junior racing CV as really anyone who's come over here in this protracted Aussie shale invasion!! Started riding Speedway on 125cc machines in 2004 having been 3rd. the year before in the national 50cc Dirttrack championships (the youth flattrack competition called the 'Husky Boys') In 2006 he was 1st in the state (Victorian) Dirt Track Championships at 65cc and 85cc; and the next year managed third at these classes in the national champs plus winning the South Australian title! Showing his versatality he also won the South Australian Minimoto Championships in 2007. 2008 saw his Speedway breakthru' winning both the South Australian AND the National championship at Under 16 level (this at 125cc). He rode for Oz in the FIM World Speedway Youth Gold Trophy at Vojens, Denmark that year too. 2008 saw him start his Road Racing career too winning the SA State Junior championships - graduating to the nationals Red Bull MotoGP Rookies where he finished 13th. last year and stands 14th. in the current standings. He retained his Australian Under 16 (125cc) title in 2009 too.. Moving up to 350cc in 2010 he won the Under 16 crown in that category too.. So impressive stuff, and certainly (1) worth going along to the Norfolk Arena on Sunday to see him ride and (2) possibly an NL team sounding him out: though not sure if at only just 15 he might be too young as an Aussie to ride in the NL..?

Ah right, NOW I see it!!! Thanx!!

Deadline For Nl Fixtures
Parsloes 1928 nearly replied to Parsloes 1928 nearly's topic in National League Speedway
Back to the tiling..., I mean the thread!!! IF as it seems is happening from another thread on here the o/s RH vs. Devils fixture isn't staged until Sept. 25 (weather permitting) this will mean - as I also said on that other thread.. So this means that again we can't expect the Play Off meetings until October.. Which in the Buccs'; case (should they make it..) will mean a possible SIX weeks gap between their last NL fixture (in AUGUST) and the play-off semi in OCTOBER... -
Posted where..? Can't see it on the RH web-site. So this means that again we can't expect the Play Off meetings until October.. Which in the Buccs'; case (should they make it..) will mean a possible SIX weeks gap between their last NL fixture (in AUGUST) and the play-off semi in OCTOBER... Not good...
-
I know that's the first date mentioned to restage last weekend's rain-off; but the 25th. is way past the agreed deadline date for completing NL fixtures and with Rye & Plymouth engaged with Bournemouth in the crucial battle for the fourth play-off place, I can't see that the 25th. can be an acceptable date...
-
No option with RH's outstanding home matches now holding up completion of the NL season...: which has to accommodate play-offs once we know who the top four are... Is there a revised date for restaging Plymouth's visit yet..?
