  1. I remember going one year and the screen at the opposite end never worked ...... oh well I went to watch live speedway not televised that was how I saw it the screens are just a bonus really ...... when they work properly Couldn't of put it better myself ...... getting very boring now, no doubt she'll tune in when the GPs are on tv., or .................. no wont go there AGAIN!!!!
  2. He wasn't old back then he made the rostrum on each of his 3 visits yet never won it still will always be the best rider in my eyes (but then I am bias )
  3. I even looked this one up in case it was a new word .... SCB???? am reading this as plonker is that right Bagsy a space in the hot tub ................ please Fairies?????
  4. What I miss about the 70's Canterbury Speedway All the friends I made and very rarely see now Rye House "Infradex" Rockets Friday Hackney Saturday Canterbury Sunday Rye House Cleaning the clutch plates for Uncle Teds bikes Castrol R Playing in the dirt at Hackney with Andrew Silver (Hmmmmm and I think someone called Sean ) Zenon Plech! NLRC at Wimbledon Oh that's it now I got to go to work dreaming of 70's speedway, hopefully some of our holidaymakers are speedway fans this week.
  5. Are you related to Trees? Reckon you could be right there 21st! Must admit Salty was trying to think of a GP this season Oooooooooo what's it like with Vodka???? They didn't have to be consulted ..... some refused to practise on it! hmmmmm who's your source of information? One person is responsible for the laying of the track (by this I mean overall seeing person) so surely it is down to the incompetence of ONE person! Did you go to the P&P for this meeting??? If you had, you would know that Harris was more than up for winning this meeting, his practise races with Leigh Adams and Scott Nicholls proved out of the 3 he was the better racer at that particular point ....... Either that or Greg overheard me telling people that Chris was going to win Cardiff, yes much to the amusement of several forum people, one of which said "what do you know, you are a girl! and of course when I took my winning betting slip along to the bookies to pick up my 2k plus ..... this little girl was right. In the past it has been said that EVERY rider wants to win Cardiff and I think both Greg and Chris would be pretty pissed off with your theory that Greg let him win! As am I for dissing what was a British win, Greg looked round, which she should never of done, Chris took advantage of this and won .... fair and square get over it!! Unfortunately no .... I was at Cardiff but if you ever get the chance to ask the commentators what they meant by such comments, am sure you will pass on the reply to us all here!
  6. Ok sorry rephrased ............. Barry rode 2nd halves at Canterbury and made two appearances for the Crusaders in 1979 before moving to Milton Keynes the following year Better Kev
  7. Hmmmmm all well and good but what if Nikki isn't quite prepared for the GP and all the fans have there tickets and are there ready to watch the meeting but the shale has been left out over night and it's rained and now they can't dry the track out in time so it will have to be arranged for the following week at another venue just a thought
  8. Meeting rather than "thingy" wouldn't have shown your ignornance there would it Schumi If he wins again next year do you think you could just re-open the thousands of threads that have been started this time rather than start more
  9. G'day Dave xxxx Shazzybird is 'avin 'an Aussie day t'day
  10. We all thought TRick would do 7 ..... who can tell what will happen it's a funny ol' sport
  11. Barry rode for Canterbury, I know he has a son that does grasstrack but for the life of me I can't remember his name ..... grassergirl will be your best bet or even sidecar 121 or Fd
  12. Iris personally in my house it's spelt T****r but NiKKi is more polite .......
  13. Not a bad one though hey Carlyboy ........... Welcome Aboard have fun and happy posting x Hmmmm Polish or Danish fan can't quite make my mind up with you HenryW Might be the fact that people call Gollob "Mr Bydgoszcz" is a little giveaway that it's one of his favourite tracks so quite possibly a forgone conclusion he was going to win even with an EF in his first race ..... NikkiP was ill and injured the week before when OMG the track was unraceable surely the Danish track curator should of realised that leaving the shale out over night in rain it would not dry out enough for the meeting, World title may not have turned out how it did, if NikkiP was not well enough to race in Germany and Jason had won the meeting certainly makes ya wonder don't it ! The world is full of if onlys and that's another that will go into the speedway archive for fans to discuss over the years
  14. Was just going to ask if you'd seen this yet lol
  15. Yep I'll go with that ..... how nice was it to see Mark Loram in the pits with him tonight! Kelvin Tatum can we replace him though please??????? Why is it when he sees an injured rider helping out in the pits he summises (sp) what they are going to do in the future?
  16. Thought this was by far the best GP I've seen this season ........ Excellent racing which wasn't without it's racing incidents. NikkiP may have been excluded from the Super Prix final but he was still smiling could that be because he still got the money for being the fourth man in ..... I would of been smiling ear to ear if that had been me, not racing and still coining it in
  17. Goes against the grain to say well done to NikkiP on his 3rd World Title, maybe would of been a different story though had the German Grand Prix gone ahead Congratulations NikkiP ....... 3 TIMES WORLD CHAMPION. Maybe Gollob or Hans next year but all is not lost for Jason Crump.
  18. Thats naughty I only got that recently and now the price has been slashed hmmmmm so if I ask for a refund and then re-buy it from the seller is that ok for a tenner?
  19. WTG Billy it must of been me rubbing your ears in Cardiff for luck that done it
  20. Trees must be on a weeks holiday and keeps voting I've been to one off finals and GPs and in all honesty I love speedway no matter what. Whichever way you all decide I hope they don't change back to the one off, although that was literally an on the night result, if they still had that system now would Mark Loram have ever become our World Champion quite possibly but we will never know now. The way I see it there's more money involved now with sponsors, prize money etc and the GPs gives us 9 or 10 more meetings a year now to see a rider become World Champion, there have been times when long before the final meeting the title has been "decided" but that doesn't stop the thousands of fans turning up to cheer on their favourite or tuning into SKY sports to cheer from their armchair. If you don't like the GPs simple don't watch them! When I go to Cardiff I don't give a monkeys left nut who's top of the table, I like to see who's going to win at the Millennium Stadium many riders have said it's the ultimate meeting every rider wants to win at Cardiff! Possibly the best meeting in the GP calendar and the only orgasm I've never faked ...... just ask Bomber Harris
  21. Cardiff 30k+ fans attend as the meetings are no longer special Somehow I don't think they will change it for you Trees no matter how much you bleat about it not being what you want to see. I loved the one off final as well as the next one and was a humongous Michael Lee fan but would my other hero have ever become World Champion in a one off final ....... that we will never know now, one things for sure though the GP series made him World Champion for the Millennium and that I am well chuffed with!
  22. So he might be Matt but he don't wanna go there just yet
  23. No prizes for guessing which one pulled and which one didn't then is there If you notice Middlo still goes Sandie ..... Middlo paid for himself like he is doing now. Poole Tourist Board sponsored him but I wouldn't of thought it would cover the price of air fares or hotels for the GPs as well as the SWC meetings.
  24. Either all 4 back or the ref got it right ..... talk about sitting on the fence If I was to stop going to Cardiff it would of been when Mark Loram was no longer in it, Brits or not I'll continue to go to watch the best riders in the World compete against each other.
