  1. Wildest rider in the PL, its a no contest, Chris Blewitt by a mile am i correct in thinking he had to pack it in because he could no longer get insurance cover,No Ivor Brown was never wild.
  2. Hi Bobbath; The pub you are on about was and still is "The Victoria" there is a Planning Application being drawn up at the present time to be submitted soon, try visiting this web site most of the info you want is on there. http://www.cradleyspeedway.co.uk/
  3. It looks like TJ.Fowler will be missing from the dream team in 2007 which is a great shame because on ability alone, TJ looked to have bags of natural ability, and masses of potential. . Is there any way we can get him here by public demand.??
  4. Well if you are right with your info, it must be the brothers Facchini, which is a shame in a way because we will not be seeing TJ. Fowler in 2007.
  5. Who are the two American riders for the Under 21,s this year?? seing as Neil Facchini won, and he is over age, does this mean the 3rd placed rider goes through, and if so where is it being held.
  6. Here is the website of Jan o, pity there is not an english version, any translators out there.? http://www.janomotorcykler.dk/
  7. Well not many with New Zealand heritage, ain,t got British or Welsh ancestry, but there again it dont help these days to speak english, still reckon he will be over here within 3 years <if he wants it> he only has to continue his present rate of progress. jeldi, jeldi.
  8. From what little info i have i believe he lives in the USA, has New Zealand parentage, has ridden in Sweden??, and is on the 2007 Dream Team, I have noted him down as one to watch for the future, his parentage will certainly be a help to him in the UK, if that is where he wants his near future to be. I am sure TMG will correct any mistakes, and add to what little i know. http://www.speedwaybikes.com/rw/urickywells.htm If he is as good <Potentially> as i think he may be, just watch those promoters sniffing around the Dream team this year. Here is the only guide i could find for 2006, this was an early season meeting in 2006. - Nate Perkins 3 3 2 1 9 2 - Neil Facchini 0 0 1* 3 4+1 3 - Buck Blair 1 3 3 3 3 13 4 - Tim Gomez Fx 2* 2* 2* 2 8+3 5 - Chris Kerr Fx (withdrew) 0 6 - Dale Facchini 1 2 1 1* 5+1 7 - Shaun Harmatiuk 2 2 3 2 9 8 - Matt Browne 1* 1* 1* 0 1* 4+4 World Aces 1 2 3 4 5 6 T 1 - Simon Gustafsson 1* 0 0 1* Fx 2+2 2 - Ricky Wells 2 1 2 3 8 3 - Robin Törnqvist 2* 3 3 3 11+1 4 - Dario Galvin inj. 9. Well done Neil <Legs> Fachini, and YES you did prove me Bloody wrong, no doubt i shall have to buy you a drink when i see you over here next year, I take it Fred will be bringing both of you over for the Under 21,s, Or will it be more a case of No stopping you coming over .
  10. What are peoples views on possible finishing order???, here is my assesment from what i have seen of he Dream Team; 3. TJ Fowler. Has all the ability in he world, can he keep the bikes in one piece??. Should be a Top three finisher. 19. Dale Facchini. Possibly the most improved rider on the Dream Team of 2006. Dale could be a dark horse, less spectacular than his brother,he is the steady eddie of the two, I will go for a Top Three, again if the bikes are right. 30. Tim Gomez. Tim is my missus,s favourite rider, and if he has fully recovered from the injuries he got whilst in the UK in 06, he should be a certain Top Three. 45. Dario Galvin. Dissapointing not to see Dario over here in 06, does not look to have made the progress expected of him this year. If he can put some decent starts together he will upset one or two. 201. Neil Facchni. Neill was a little dissapointing this year, can mix it with the best of his age group, can be spectacular, needs to add a little bit of consistency to his points scoring, maybe concentrate on the riding more than the ladies. 248. Brian Starr. Brian is another who falls into the Steady year on year improver rather than the spectacular. I feel with Brian he races more as a hobby than wanting to make a career out of it, though he has ability, again he can take points of the more favoured riders especially if he gates. I cannot split the Top Three there are a few imponderables. TJ. If his bikes are set up right, he will take all the beating, Dale again if his equipment is A1 he can get on the rostrum, and Tim his equipment will be right Gary will see to that, but the Knee??. Neil will he prove me wrong?? and take a Top Three from his brother, obviously i cannot comment on the other riders not having seen them. All these guys are fantastic people, and great ambassadors for the USA, i hope they all come out of the meet fit and well, best of luck to them all, hopefully we will see them in the UK in 2007.

  12. RogH as you can see Hull Greyhounds were licensed up until they received their notice to Quit, may i just add were there Speedway at The Boulevard then that would not have been able to continue either.
  13. Rog; My information from the Dogs side of things; is they have been kicked out due to H&S issues, ie dangerous structures within the Stadium, and many thousands need spending to eliminate this.
  14. This may give you more of an idea. CLICK HERE The question now is have Gaming International Ltd allocated funds for this project and has it been endorsed by the share holders. If anyone has any details on this then that would supply a better answer, Unfortunately cannot see any mention of Speedway here.

  16. Birmingham; are awaiting a decision by the Planning comitee. Long Eaton; have drawn up plans. Weymouth;have to carry out nesecary works, and then submit a new PA. Exeter;have a potential new site at Haldon Racecourse, have to submit a PA. The remainder;Boston,Wimbledon,Hull,Wales,Halifax,Cradley Heath,Yeovil, and Cornwall, all of those still have to find potential sites. That is it as far as i am aware with some further forwards than others,i am sure others will post updates about the ongoing situations. There are also at least two and possibly three other venues where the people involved prefer at this moment to keep negotiations private until they judge the time is right to put in the public domain.
  17. I was thinking of opening a book on this; I would have cleaned up by now; its called insider trading though i believe.
  18. Topic title unsuccessful Americans,To put Lance King in that bracket is by no means true; 1st year at Cradley 1982 CMA = 6.74 2nd year at Cradley 1983 CMA = 9.11 3rd year at Cradley 1984 CMA =9.19 Also 3rd in World Final so to say he was unsuccessful is slightly of the mark as i said elsewhere unfullfilled potential would be closer to the mark.
  19. Just lifted this from another web site;Could apply to a Speedway Track to, old track at earls barton make great new track « Thread Started on Oct 24, 2005, 2:47pm » -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- as far as i know earls barton track is still in one peice would make great place to re open a track if you had the money next to the a 45 between northampton and wellingborough was one of the best betting tracks around right in the middle for milton keynes petterborough kettering huge catchment area.
  20. Slightly off Topic, you can lead a dog to water but you cannot make it drink, this person could have said NO. Back on topic Lance King all the potential in the world, sadly unfulfilled.
  21. My thoughts after talking to various people over some months almost everyone says where are the next generation of Americans, after H&H we have, Yarrow,Janniro,Fisher then who?the Dream Team ,its looks to me the American Individual system was/is almost dead. What they have in Baseball,American Football, etc is City Teams sponsored by big business if only America could get 10 or 12 Teams from various areas I believe it could really take off,but to do this one has to start somewhere and this is what the guys are trying to do. What the next step could be is a team of riders from over here of say 14, visiting the USA annually riding as guests for various Teams then at the end of the series we could have International matches official or otherwise riding against the Yanks, this i believe would put bums on seats. I believe there would be no lack of riders willing to go to America,or sponsors in America,Obviously this would be in our close season. Be interesting to hear peoples thoughts on something along these lines.
  22. 23. Coalville greyhound Track can be added to the B*****s list. I am afraid it is not only this company, its just that this particular company has found this area <sports> very lucrative. What it comes down to is the landowner has a choice; Take a comparatively small annual rental income 20/30,000 pounds for his 4/8 acres or take a bulk payment running into millions and live a life of luxury at wherever he chooses to live. The sports concerned have the options to purchase these sites most probably but dont have the cash to compete, what needs to be done is to make these sites multi use, perhaps bring in fitness clubs/Casinos etc on long term leases, bring in say a Mcdonalds/Burger King on long leases, invite a developer to put up an Office block or even an appartment block maybe, in other words play the developers at there own game, but there again you are asking our current "promoters" to run a business when for the most part they cannot even run the sport, just look at how they allowed Benfield to take on the GP,s. Failing that no planning permission should be granted to develop a sports site without a replacement being put in place.
  24. Hi, Can you confirm only it is "generally" for a roadworks closed overnight ie 7-00pm until 7-00am.if it is correct then Woody has got about the best alternative, off at Gloucester & Cheltenham.
