  1. Why can't it beheld over here ? ...... Maybe at Coventry on a Wednesday or Thursday ?
  2. Tenerife isn't Spain, it's closer to Africa than anywhere but they do speak Spanish. There was a rider from Madrid who had an Italian father from Venice, Italy ..... Juan Corneto !!! Then there was the Spaniard who tried his luck at Speedway but decide on a trip over here that his future was in football and joined a London team ad his signing was on the back of The Sun ..... JUAN NIL to the Arsenal !!!
  3. PARKEN PREDICTIONS 10 Emil Sayfutdinov 10 Nicki Pedersen 10 Jarek Hampel 10 Chris Holder 9 Tai Woffinden 9 Greg Hancock 8 Niels K Iversen 8 Darcy Ward 8 Krzysztof Kasprzak 8 Fredrik Lindgren 7 Michael Jepsen Jensen 6 Andreas Jonsson 5 Tomasz Gollob 5 Matej Zagar 4 Martin Vaculik 3 Antonio Lindback Last year was won by Jason Crump ahead of Fredrik Lindgren, Greg Hancock and Chris Harris with Pedersen, Holder, Emil and Bjarne losing out in the semi finals. Those that are thinking Tomasz Gollob looks a good bet on 5, just think that he has scored just 12 points in his last three GP's and last season scored just 3 points in Copenhagen as did fellow struggler, Antonio Lindback who has looked lost in the series so far. This could be the most open GP so far as it's hard to predict who will do what ....... so good luck !! I'm going for Hancock, Lindgren, Kasprzak and Ward
  4. The only way Speedway could be a £10 sport is to have a strict pay policy which would in effect mean most of the current EL heat leaders would not make it pay and would be ruled out of riding here. So the sport in general would be less appealing to the media (ie Sky) so you would almost certainly lose their money ..... but you would in balance not have to pay out the big cheques to the big riders. Second string EL riders like Lewis Bridger, Nicolai Klindt or Adam Skornicki may think it wont pay, but then think they would be scoring 10-12 a meeting instead of 5-7 so would be earning better money. Trouble is, how could you have Ben Barker, Ricky Wells or Stuart Robson averaging 9+ in the EL and also 9+ in the PL ..... It would in effect mean the EL and PL would have to join forces to make one big league ...... which PL tracks dont want, especially when they have riders of that standard already but are charging the same as EL tracks at present so their costs would hardly change but their income would be 40% less. Yes they may increase their gate ..... but if a track has 2,000 regulars now, they eould have to increase that by at least 800 to get the same income which is hard as the sport in many people's mind is not promoted or advertised well enough to attract current non speedway fans. .... so where would those 800+ people come from ? In the past I have posted what is known as the TNT Format which basically means the EL would be a less regular event ..... maybe 9 home meetings (10 teams) a season but ALL tracks compete in one big league split into two groups ending in play offs at the end. .... the tracks not competing in the EL would also have Premier Trophy meetings to balance up the number of meetings ridden. Problem is now that there are less riders over here already as 20+ EL riders are also PL heat leaders ....... take 30+ current EL heat leaders out and 20+ less places without doubling up riders would man 50-60 NL riders would be needed to complete 24-26 teams in one big league. Basically ....... It aint going to happen as many dont want drasstic changes ..... Turkeys dont vote for Christmas !!

  6. I ould admit defeat now as reaching the final is the best they can hope for and select a team of Richie Worrall, Craig Cook, Lewis Bridger and Daniel King with Eddie Kennett next in line. Tai Woffinden should be looked after, so let him rest for the rest of the GP's and get fully fit.
  7. Tomasz Gollob Niels K Iversen Krzysztof Kasprzak Bartosz Zmarzlik Hope Freddie and Tai prove me wrong by not selecting them. ..... Tai is doing the practice and will see how that goes before confirming his place in the line up.
  8. GORZOW ..... What will they score ? 12 Emil Sayfutdinov 11 Tomasz Gollob 11 Chris Holder 11 Niels K Iversen 9 Nicki Pedersen 8 Jarek Hampel 8 Krzysztof Kasprzak 8 Greg Hancock 8 Martin Vaculik 8 Matej Zagar 7 Fredrik Lindgren 6 Bartosz Zmarzlik 5 Andreas Jonsson 3 Tai Woffinden / Leon Madsen 3 Antonio Lindback 1 Ales Dryml Ales Dryml is selected in the list at 1 point only. ...... Leon Madsen if ridng is at 3 points only Should Troy Batchelor also be needed, he would take the place of Nicki Pedersen on 9 points. Darcy if riding would not be scoring in this round. GOOD LUCK on what looks like being a great meeting with Emil, Gollob, Iversen and Holder looking strong contenders while Zmarzlik last year got on the rostrum and Zagar and Kasprzak were big scorers last season for Gorzow while Vaculik was the suprise winner here last season and looked fast at Cardiff.
  9. Getting the National Press involved is a major problem. This year I contacted The Sun newspaper and offered my services for free to not only report on the sport, but also the year of Tai Woffinden being the lone Brit taking on the world and explained I could give then a detailed and full report on this with Tai involved personally. They were not interested and felt the do enough to cover the interest in speedway by simply printing the results and the odd one inch statement now and again.
  10. Don't think so Rico ..... but will heck it out soon. Will post the Predicted scores for Gorzow before Sunday ...... Waiting to hear if Tai Woffinden and Darcy Ward are riding
  11. Lived and worked in the midlands are most of my life, but have travelled and work has often made me be in various parts of the country and meet people from various backgrounds and ways of life. When not at speedway, I don't have one friend or close colleague that goes to speedway, but do have a number that used to go, even if it was the odd time. Many do watch the sport on TV and are pleased t have found out that the Grand Prix's are still on TV but now on Eurosport and not Sky Sports. On a Tuesday night I play in a local pool league which I run single handed. Quite a few will know how Wolves got on the previous night and many have caught on to the buzz surrounding Tai Woffinden at the moment and how well he is doing in all competitions and now his injury. However the main thing I hear when talking about speedway is "I used to go but haven't been for ages and last time was when Ole Olsen was the main man" ...... OR ...... "Speedway ? ...... Is that cars or bikes ?" ....... OR ....... "They do that at Hednesford dont they ?" (Hednesford Raceway is a solely Stock Car arena) Going back to going to various parts of the country. I have been to, past or close to many tracks that I know are there, but have never seen adverts or directions to the track. Even at home some dont realise that Wolves ride at Monmore Green, the same venue that has the Greyhounds !! ..... Even approaching Wolves, the only sign posts are to Monmore Green Stadium .... not Wolves Speedway. A few years ago, I went to Great Yarmouth and passed by the Peterborough and Kings Lynn tracks and unless I had been there previously, there was nothing to attract people to the fact the sport is there. .... While parked up in Great Yarmouth there were fliers put on car windscreens for local attractions ..... has anyone had a flier put on ther car about speedway ? At one part of the country I was working in regular had a small track that is still running today. The stadium is not exactly pretty considering what most stadia are lke these days and the track is looked after with 1960's tractors and equipment. Within 500 yards of this track was a national company that hires and sells construction machinery like wacker plates, cement mixers and even tractors and diggers. While there I was speaking to them about the speedway and the conversation led to how they have equipment that would be very handy at the track. They said if they had a page advert in each programme and a sign up at the stadium, they would be able to sponsor them with euipment instead of cash. ..... When I told pased this information on, they said NO ... They want cash only. ... This was a national company willing to get involved and speedway turning their back on them. In a number of cities around Britain, there are tracks close to large numbers of colleges and universities with 17-21 year olds looking for group entertainment. ..... Why can't tracks offer students admission with their ID card for say £2 .... If you get 50 turn up, it's £100 you never had before and hopefully some will carry on going for many more years when they have become lawyers, doctors or simply shop staff !! It's fine some saying the sport is as good as it used to be, but unless the spor is seen and avertised to a much bigger audience, the sport is hiding away in a corner and only seen by a select few. Get it seen and attract new or old fans to return
  12. While Tai gets over his operation, he has had a few tattoo's done, including a large portrait of his dad on his back. He wants to ride in Gorzow and I would bet against it
  13. Until we kow which 3 riders qualify from the Challenge, it's hard to call but from the 2013 line up, the three I think would most likely miss out are Antonio Lindback, Andreas Jonsson and possibly Martin Vaculik. Oviously if one of the other 12 qualifies through the qualifiers, then there will be more places and Vaculik should get another year. Jepsen Jensen will be the most likely newcomer next season with anyone that stars in the U21's and WTC next in line, possibly Zmarzlik and Dudk. One thing I would like to see changed is the riders given the #19 - 23 race jackets are nominated and given toriders that can come in if required and do a job ..... unlike Dribble wtc 2014 will possibly be the final year for Gollob and Hancock
  14. July 12th will do ...... whatever the date I hope people get hotel rooms at the correct price but unlikely as most know when it is already !! Will travel down on the day like normal and at least Tai has 13 months to get ready and his Cancer Research fund raiser which will prove he is still a bit of an Animal !!
  15. I have been told in the date in confindence and cant say ....... Can I ? ok then ...... it's .......... 2014 !!
  16. Well that's Cardiff over for another year and sadly this year saw Tai Woffinden crash out after just three rides and with it went 25 points for quite a few predictors. As there were no minus scores in Cardiff, the lwest score was just 16 points by Diddy who only predicted Iversen would reach the final. Best score of the round was 142 by Screm who now jumps up to second place with 4 top scorers correct and 2 finalists, including Emil who with other injuries must be odds on to be World Champion in 2013. Other good scores were ..... 133 Gray, 130 JamieE, 125 Pantherman, 121 MikeC, 117 wheelsinline, williamfj, 115 TNT, 112 Marky, Hilly, 105 refereerick and 100 iceman LEADERBOARD AFTER ROUND 5 Total - from 866 - 800 = Homer 762 - 620 = Screm 742 - 630 = Marky 737 - 620 = Williamfj 702 - 610 = Rico 687 - 570 = Wheelsinline 685 - 570 = TNT 662 - 570 = Pyscho3a 622 - 580 = Beercellar 621 - 500 = Mike C 613 - 480 = Gray 612 - 550 = Paleco 602 - 510 = Spook 597 - 560 = Bomber Hammer 577 - 540 = Full Throttle 576 - 560 = Diddy 565 - 460 = Referee Rick 540 - 410 = Jamie E 532 - 440 = mdmc82 497 - 460 = Mark246 467 - 430 = PTW 422 - 335 = Hunty * 412 - 350 = Waikekeaces 410 - 330 = Gavan 372 - 310 = Robbie B 355 - 230 = Pantherman 350 - 250 = Iceman 312 - 230 = dontforgetthefueltaps 312 - 215 = Dump the Clutch * 280 - 225 = Stilton Panther * 260 - 180 = CJ69 242 - 130 = Hilly * = missed a round Next Rounds predictions will be posted shortly - It's Gorzow and while Zmarzlik is the likely WC, we will have to see if Woffinden and Ward are riding
  17. Tai will be covered by guests as long as Ty Proctor is out which will be a few weeks yet. Woffinden = Guest Proctor = R/R
  18. The reason the mechanics had to lift his bike was because the forks were damaged and pushed into the frame. He smply caught a rut and fell Heat 14 Crash. A rider i excluded for being the primary cause of the stoppage FACT So did Freddie cause the stoppage by hitting Tai ? ...... NO Tai was clipped but very minimal and Tai changed his line slightly. Did Tai catch Vaculik's front wheel with his dirt deflector ? ..... For me the reason the race was stopped was because there was a crash and in my opinion Freddie was not the cause of the crash more like Tai moving slightly offline and with Vaculik on his outside, Tai ouldn't stop the momentum of running into Nicki who was putting it on a slight locker If someone had to be excluded, in my opinion it should have been Tai butas it's on the first lap and they are still vying for places, maybe an option of all four back should be applied. Q - At what point in the track can a referee call all four back ? ..... Is it once they exit turn two ? ..... Is it after turn one ? ...... maybe turn three should be allowed as an option.
  19. CARDIFF RESULTS ! GROUP 1 = Emil Sayfutdinov (25), Tai Woffinden (25), Nicki Pedersen (25) GROUP 2 = Chris Holder (25), Tomasz Gollob (25), Jarek Hampel (25) GROUP 3 = Greg Hancock (25), Matej Zagar (25), Niels K Iversen (25) GROUP 4 = Antonio Lindback (30), Andreas Jonsson (30), Fredrik Lindgren (30) GROUP 5 = Krzysztof Kasprzak (25), Martin Vaculik (50), Chris Harris (50), Ales Dryml (100) THE FINAL 12 Emil Sayfutdinov 16 Niels K Iversen 20 Krzysztof Kasprzak 25 Fredrik Lindgren League tables will be done shortly with wheelsinline to be corrected I scored 117 so hopefuly climbed the ladder a bit more !
  20. Pedersen not riding and Iversen or Holder may be guesting for Wolves at Eastboure ? Darcy Ward could be set for a comeback in this one for Australia, possibly with Holder (if available) or/and Davey Watt.
  21. Tai has broken his clavicle bone (shoulder) at Cardiff last night which will no doubt mean a lengthy lay off from racing. At the time of the accident, Tai had jumped to #1 in the standings and with 7 points from 3 rides was looking good for a semi final place and possibly increase that lead over Emil. Why has Tai suddenl jumped up to be the sports #1 in form rider and a National Hero ? Answer is not just on the track but off it in my opinion. Tai has always shown he has great potential, but he had this sort of "cocky" attitude and was looked upon as a bit like a British Darcy Ward. He did things his way, like it or not and had people around him that he felt were good to have around and help him progress. Tai has comeback in 2013 as a real different person both on te track and off. He now has a great team of mechanics, Pete Adams does a great job keeping him heading in a straight line and his family are close at hand. His CANCER RESEARCH bike ride has been brilliant and at last count it was over £25,000 which is a brilliant figure and will hopefully get even bigger in the next few weeks. He has his feet firmly on the ground now, his diet controlled, his fitness improved and in a whole Tai has in my opinion become a true proffesional and a great gentleman, not just a typical 22 year old. My thoughts and opinion on Tai over the last few months has changed so much and now I cant speak highy enough of him. Watching his short film of his bike ride while he took a lap of honour was truly moving and the reception he now gets is that of a National Hero after being looked at by many as the Aussie kid pretending to be a Brit with atitude. At Cardiff, while other riders got on with the day in their own way,Tai put on a brilliant buffet for sponsors, family and friends which wasn't just a few sarnies on a tray. He organised a catering firm to do a full buffet with orange juice and bottled water and all day took time out to chat to people, have pictures taken, sign autographs and generally make sure everyone was looked after. Tai, you have not only become a great rider, but a real hero and I along with a whole new set of Woffy Woffy Woffy fans wish you a speedy recovery and hope you are backon track as soon as possible. HOWEVER; Next years planned event to raise money for CANCER RESEARCH proves you still have a Mad side to you GOOD LUCK
  22. Well just about to set of for Cardiff .... will have to see if its T Shirt .... Wolves Shirt .... or Memphis 12 hoody weather when I get there. ..... If you know who I am or see the Memphis 12 hoody on a big fat midlander ..... Say hello #woffywoffywoffy Greg Hancock 20/1, Matej Zagar 16/1 and Nicki Pedesen 12/1 look great E/W bets but E/W on Emil at 5/1 looks like money guaranteed back
  23. Have always found getting tickets on the day easiest. When the dte for next years GP is announced, most of the best seats are snapped up straight away. Have always had great tickets when in any section, only section never been in is the N section which is the one tier piece I think on the 2nd turn. Have a different position this year which could top any previous year but any seat is good at Cardiff. .... Can't Wait !!!
  24. I will be getting a bite to eat in the stadium
