  1. Only a few weeks away till the start of the 2013 Grand Prix Series, so make sure you post your SPREAD BETS before New Zealand. The prediction scores for NZ will appear here soon
  2. It really is going to be a hard season ahead for this years title and I have broken them down into catergories. COULD BE CHAMPION Chris Holder, Nicki Pedersen, Emil Sayfutdinov and Darcy Ward COULD BE ON THE ROSTRUM Antonio Lindback, Greg Hancock BEST OF THE REST - TOP 8 FINISH ? Fredrik Lindgren, Tomasz Gollob, Matej Zagar, Jarek Hampel JUST NOT MAKING IT Martin Vaculik, Andreas Jonsson, Krzysztof Kasprzak, Tai Woffinden, Niels K Iversen Whoever does miss out on he top 8, I hope they go through the qualifiers this year as the only riders I could see go into the series are possibly Michael Jepsen Jensen, Janusz Kolodiej and Grigory Laguta
  3. On my current package it says to add channel 425 subscription of £5 per month ...... dont understand SKY packages as I have friends who pay much more than me and dont have as many channels and also a friend who has Movies and Sports but pays £2 a month less ? Whichever channel its going to be on, I will more than likely go to my mates pub who has loads of foreign channels and pays next to nothing for them ! ..... I have dropped SPORTS starting tomorrow for a couple of reasons.
  4. Think they are talking about the NEW European TEAM Championships they are trying to get off the ground. Premier Sports would be the best option for most as its £5 a month subscription
  5. Not a plan just a question / statement
  6. Wed March 27: Birmingham v Coventry Tue April 2: Wolverhampton v Belle Vue Mon April 8: Swindon v Peterborough Mon April 15: Belle Vue v Peterborough Tues April 23: Lakeside v Kings Lynn Wed April 24: Kings Lynn v Poole Mon April 29: TBC Tues April 30: Scunthorpe v Workington As SKY always love to pan into the crowd on numerous occasions, wouldn't it be good if there were large cards the fans could hold up saying WHERE'S THE GP's or WHY NO GP's ? Cant believe we are about to enter the best ever line up for the GP Series and SKY have decided to drop it !
  7. Ladbrokes are offering the following odds: Darcy Ward 7/2 Chris Holder 4/1 Nicki Pedersen 6/1 Tomasz Gollob 7/1 Emil Sayfutdinov 8/1 Greg Hancock 10/1 Jaroslaw Hampel 12/1 Antonio Lindback 14/1 Andreas Jonsson 20/1 Niels-Kristian Iversen 25/1 Fredrik Lindgren 33/1 Krzysztof Kasprzak 33/1 Martin Vaculik 66/1 Matej Zagar 66/1 Tai Woffinden 150/1 It would be no suprise for any of thee riders to make at least one rostrum place this season, but to be World Champion you really have to have 2 or 3 brilliant rounds, 8 or 9 good rounds and accept you may have a few that dont go according to plan. I think CHRIS HOLDER will retain the title as he is more of the complete rider while NICKI PEDERSEN will be his main challenger as Darcy will make mistakes in a few rounds and possibly get caught out just how hard this is going to be. Even the easiest race, if he misses the gate he would have to pass Zagar, Kasprzak and Woffinden when you go by the odds. EMIL SAYFUTDINOV and DARCY WARD will be the challengers to these two and I fully expect ANTONIO LINDBACK to carry on his good form too with a consistant GREG HANCOCK should complete the top six. After those ...... could be any order !!
  8. Yes he has his VISA that he misplaced before this but he would have to declare any changes to his situation just like you do with your drivig licence here. If when entrering the country they check on this then he could be stopped ..... but unlikely now That was his original plan which looked to be shelved ...... if that is still the plan he may be testing his bikes over here in 15 days time
  9. Can someone come to Britain to work if they have a recent criminal conviction in their own country ? Regardless of the person being a 10+ EL star r a 5 point Premier League rider ..... should they be allowed a Visa to work here ?
  10. WARNING; Should the starting 15 riders be changed before the New Zealand Grand Prix, then the rider that is taken out of the original line up will NOT count in the spread betting Posts can be edited before the first GP and the incoming rider (if there is one) will be given a predicted total if time allows.
  11. Darcy needs a 12 month break and a ban would do him good in the long run. Antonio Lindback realised he was having problems and went away for a time and with help came back better than ever. ..... Darcy needs this time to get the help required and I'm sure there are enough ex sports personalities in Australia that could help him. Sadly if Darcy does get replaced then it may mean no team place for Howarth at reserve and they move in for the Pawlicki brothers !
  12. A taste of what he might miss in my opinion would work better so a 12 month ban would do that better. If he was to go off the rails more then that would be his choice and only highlight what might have been if he wasn't bannd now.
  13. Personally mine would be in Rugeley behind the Enterprise Park next door to the massive Amazon wharehouse which is next to McDonalds and the Premier Inn situated on the bypass. Other local sites for me would be Stafford Showground (Bingley Hall) or Chase Terrace Business Park on the waste ground next to Morrison's which is on a lare industrial estate. Elsewhere in the country it would have been Walthamstow Stadium or the NEC Birmingham.
  14. CONVICTED Driving while under the influence of ALCOHOL Driving while under the influence of DRUGS Driving a unregistered Motorcycle Driving without insurance Driving on a public footpath / kerb through a park Driving away from the Police trying to stop him For the good of the sport I see the only real answer is to see Darcy banned from the sport, here and in other countries for 12 months and should be advised to seek help during that time to seek help and consider his actions in the future should he be allowed to return. While this is damaging to the sport at present, could you imagine what damage it would have done if he was the current World Champion ?
  15. I Darcy does as expected and is one of the front runners, riders like AJ, Zagar, Kasprzak, Vaculik, Iversen and Hampel will also miss out on a top 8 place as this is without doubt the strongest field ever seen for the Series and while Tai knows he isn't going to have things his own way, he will be battling for every point. Personal in such a line up and being opptomistic, I think he will do well to break into the top 12.
  16. NOTE; The spread bet is only open to those that post before the NZ GP and all those that do post will get a 100 point bonus
  17. I have no problem with it as I firmly believe everyone has the right to post what they think or want to (under the rules) and therefore wish you all the best on this BETTING GAME. I will say that I do feel that once a person has lost their original stake, they should be out and leave the rest to fight it out. I will but my £100 on Chris Holdr retaining his title. (if we could split the bets, I would have had some on Emil and Antonio too)
  18. BUY Woffinden $7 SELL Sayfutdinov $3 Get posts in well before the NZ GP please
  19. Tai may come across as the brash young kid who has an attitude but whatever he is or was, every speedway fan should recognise he has immense talent and in 2013 he has a very good set up and mechanic who has worked with top riders before. Don't think in his wildest dreams that he thinks he will be a major player in the Series but I seriously think many have under estimated him and I wil be pleased as punch when he has proved many wrong by the end of the year with some decent scores and I think he will make it to at least one final. He may not make the top 8 but he will be alongside Zagar, Kasprzak and Iversen.
  20. You can BUY one and SELL one Or you can BUY two ...... or SELL two The choice is yours and how much of the $10 you want to put on each bet. ..... You can change your mind and edit your post ,,,,, but only BEFORE the NZ GP and any edit or post after that will not count and there will be NO one hundred bonus points to start with. If a rider crashes out and misses some rounds and you have a bet on to BUY him, then yes you will most likely lose big points ...... but if you have a bet on to SELL then you could be quids in.
  21. PRE SERIES SPREAD BET You have $10 to bet with and must choose TWO riders from the list below and decide if to BUY or SELL !! Should you bet $7 on one rider and BUY ..... For every point he beats that score, you will get 7 points ..... Sould he not reach that total then you will lose 7 points for each point he is short by. If you SELL another rider with the remaining $3 then you are saying he will not reach the predicted total. If he fails to reach that total, you will get 3 points for each point he is away from the predicted score. Should he score more than the predicted score, you will lose 3 points for each point he is over. ALL people that post a prediction / bet in this wlll start with 100 points .... if you start the game after this, you will not get the 100 points to start with. You can make your spread bet in any comination you wish. Either 9/1, 8/2, 7/3, 6/4 or 5/5 and you can BUY or SELL either picks. PREDICTED FINAL POINTS 155 Chris Holder 145 Emil Sayfutdinov 145 Darcy Ward 140 Nicki Pedersen 130 Greg Hancock 125 Antonio Lindback 125 Tomasz Gollob 110 Fredrik Lindgren 100 Martin Vaculik 90 Jaroslaw Hampel 85 Andreas Jonsson 85 Krzysztof Kasprzak 80 Matej Zagar 80 Neils K Iversen 70 Tai Woffinden GOOD LUCK ...... get posting and remember these can't be changed before the NZ GP starts. ..... any edits or late posts will not be credited as a post and all posts will be collected by me during the first GP.
  22. 2013 GRAND PRIX LINE UP (2012 points) 01 - Chris Holder - Australia (160) 02 - Nicki Pedersen - Denmark (152) 03 - Greg Hancock - USA (148) 04 - Tomasz Gollob - Poland (142) 05 - Emil Sayfutdinov - Russia (133) 06 - Antonio Lindback - Sweden (122) 07 - Fredrik Lindgren - Sweden (119) 08 - Andreas Jonsson - Sweden (88) 09 - Martin Vaculik - Slovakia (67*) 10 - Jaroslaw Hampel - Poland (58*) 11 - Krzysztof Kasprzak - Poland (57 in 2008) 12 - Matej Zagar - Latvia (54 in 2007) 13 - Niels K Iversen - Denmark (59 in 2008) 14 - Tai Woffinden - Great Britain (49 in 2010) 15 - Darcy Ward - Australia (debut season) 2013 GRAND PRIX PREDICTIONS NEW ZEALAND 12 Chris Holder 12 Nicki Pedersen 11 Darcy Ward 10 Greg Hancock 10 Emil Sayfutdinov 9 Antonio Lindback 8 Tomasz Gollob 6 Fredrik Lindgren 6 Jarek Hampel 6 Krysztof Kasprzak 6 Andreas Jonsson 6 Matej Zagar 6 Niels K Iversen 6 Martin Vaculik 5 Tai Woffinden 1 Jason Bunyan
  23. GP PREDICTON GAME WILL BE BACK HERE Will post in February RULES; You select just FOUR riders from the list posted for each Grand Prix. Each rider will be given a predicted score for the forthcoming meeting You have to select the four riders that will better that score. So if your four selections were Holder 12, Hancock 9, Kasprzak 5, Woffinden 3 and these riders actually scored 15, 10, 8 and 9 then you score 13 points x 10 + 25 points for posting in time. No posts will be counted if they are posted after the SKY (?) start time or the set time. .... Even one minute late will not be counted. BONUS POINTS; Before the season starts, the list of 15 riders will be posted with their predicted FINISHING total number of poins they will score in the 2013 GP Series. You will have 10 BSF dollars to bet with on a spread bet. You must choose TWO riders from the list to BUY or SELL If you select to BUY Chris Holder (144) and BUY Tai Woffinden (48) and put $5 on each then you will get (or lose) that amount for each point the do better (or worse) than their predicted total. ..... You can split the $ however way you wish.... 8/2 ...... 7/3 etc etc but must bet on two riders. So Chris Holder acually finishes on 134 points, you lose 10x5 = -$50 but Tai Woffinden finishes on 79, you score 31x5 = +$155 giving you a total of +$105 ...... these are then converted into points and added to you final total at the end of the season. No posts starting after the New Zealand GP has started will be accepted. So this is only available to those that start the Predictor Game at the start. NOTE; If someone misses or forgets to post in a number of GP's, will be removed from the game. ...... As the season draws to a close, only the top selected predictors will get to post on the final two GP's. ..... Those that do not post WILL still have their spread bets added at the end of the season. SPREAD BETS to be posted here in and are situated in POST #3 ..... Check back and make your selections Can you beat the Defending Champion ?
  24. I would keep Sky for the rest of the family but would cancel sports if Grand Prix Speedway wasn't included.
  25. I will be watching the GP's from m local as he gets channels from all over the world and there is still some countries going to film it even if Sky dont. With league meetings staying and Swedish matches on a Tuesday, I cancelled the Movies package to take my monthly bill £20 lower each month ..... thats £240 a year they lose from me and I still get to watch Speedway
