  1. Jepsen-Jensen didn't look like a rider with his best days behind him.
  2. Do these figures take into account people like me who recorded the GP whilst watching the football?
  3. I said many years ago that the consistent dilution, annually, of the product on offer, combined with increases in price could only lead one way. More for less is great, but less for more? Now we arrive at a situation where my club is forced to run on either a Monday or a Wednesday (neither great nights) without even having a vote in the matter. The result - a considerable drop in attendance/revenue and history shows us that once fans are lost, very few return. But hey ho, all is fine and rosy with the BSPA - the sport is in great shape, attendances are on the rise, fans are happy to watch "select" teams racing each other, so no problems. We'll see come the end of the season.
  4. We at Belle Vue realise fully that MPT is a really good rider and were surprised that BV didn't step in for him before Lynn, given his proven ability at the NSS. Our loss is certainly Lynn's gain
  5. Brutal, but accurate assessment of where we are. Hardly any new blood coming through the turnstiles, not surprising given a product that hardly anyone recognises. Weekday (school day) meetings not good for B.V. as no kids often means no adults too. The actual racing at B.V. is on the whole really good and our Promotion tries hard, but B.V. had no vote in something that has fundamentally altered its' business model - how can this be right?
  6. Let's hope that they don't decide to take an interval and just run through the meeting. We had a rain affected meeting the other year against KL when they took an interval against a backdrop of gathering storm clouds.
  7. Excellent news. Used to love my trips to Cowley. Great track with friendly locals.
  8. Hopefully the Aussies will go with Doyle and either their National Champion, Tungate or Max Fricke.
  9. With Buildbase as the Bees last sponsors, one would hope that they would be more than a help with the materials. Could be a problem with trespass though.
  10. Not the finest hour for the Gorton branch of the Masonic Lodge. All very well and good wanting to announce the team in one go, but has backfired on them this time. Personally, I would like the club to announce signings as and when they happen, as it helps to maintain an interest level during the bleak winter months.
  11. I might be in a minority in that I'd go with Bjerre and not Cook. Most of KB's points were scored from the number one position. Would like to see our heat leaders as Bjerre, Zagar and Fricke, if we can afford it.
  12. Indeed, but the way Swindon rode at home, there would have been no coming back at Belle Vue IMO
  13. All opinions, isn't it? It appears that many ex-riders, including Scott, believed Lindgren to have been the cause of the crash at Belle Vue. Had that decision gone our way, I believe we would have won the double this season.
  14. And Tungate shouldn't have been excluded in the same heat when Thorsell turned on him.
  15. Two very closely matched teams. As we are in the realms of conjecture here, I'd say that but for one awful refereeing decision which went against Kenneth Bjerre, Belle Vue would have done the double this season.
  16. As we keep saying, we don't have a home advantage - riders agree. http://www.wolverhamptonwolves.co/news.php?extend.2853
  17. If it's called off on Wednesday, which looking at the weather forecast seems likely, any idea as to when it would be run - Friday perhaps?
  18. Bet 365 has gone BV-10 at 5/6, so in their eyes Wolves are slight favourites.
  19. Well done Smederna and a special well done to our ex-Ace, Matej Zagar, who was truly awesome throughout the play-offs.
  20. Wonder if this meeting can claim a record for the number of awarded heats?
