At least you have logic behind your question. Plus the club have already announced their full support for David throughout the Under 21 series. It's a far cry from tittle-tattle! Apparently the newsletter hits a large number of fans, so one would assume that it is an effective route for information. I have to say that it is becoming clear that the promotion must be getting close to perfection in terms of running a speedway club as the complaints from the usual suspects are becoming increasingly fickle and neurotic

I think social media is a slightly different kettle of fish. Certainly can be more dangerous, a forum is a generally a post to the membership, whereas Facebook/Twitter are direct to the individual. It is less anonymous, so can be useful as an official outlet, and - by nature - it is more accountable. Of course, the Internet as a whole is one big pool of mis-information. This place can certainly be a lot more fun!

The Internet forum is an interesting phenomenon, which I have had the displeasure to have been professionally involved with since their inception. It brings out a certain type of character, not callous or seeking to cause harm - but somewhat disgruntled - without the ability to air directly. It also gives a certain type of character a sense of importance and being, different to that of their daily life; not necessarily a bad thing. Mixed in amongst that you get a smattering of enthusiasts, comedians, bored folk ME, and officials. It is a strange place, as they very rarely provide any information that is not obtainable by more conventional - or official - means. There can be too much importance place on these fora.
