  1. Silly me I completely forgot that said they were moving up.
  2. Can't see Poole, Leicester or Edinburgh (if the hopefully get a reprieve) being able to hold on to their heat leaders next season. Ritchie Worral is reportedly going from Lions to Plymouth and I expect there will be a few changes elsewhere. Shame successful teams have to be split up. Still think catch up should be the aim for weaker teams rather than diluting successful teams.
  3. That is below the belt and reflects poorly on you when you have to turn to racist insults. Think it's way past some folks bedtime
  4. Open the purse and anything is possible. Personally I don't think he will be British.
  5. As a Glasgow fan I find my respect diminishing daily. Why just Poole? Any team that comes to the tapes have to been considered potential champs.
  6. Perhaps you consider all the various things that have happened this and in previous seasons this just confirms how unprofessional speedway actually is and badly managed and administrated.
  7. MPT is injury prone so I would leave him alone. Nowak I'd welcome back in a moment as I would Paul Starke. Foreign pasteurs may prove too strong a calling for Mr Brennan and I fear Ben will be stepping up everywhere else so can't see him back. Attracting a 2 pointer willing to travel to Glasgow will be a major problem and I don't think any of the Devils or Bullets would do a job bar Ace Pjiper and he'll stay at Berwick. Perhaps if cuts are needed cost and average wise 6 man teams should be considered especially after claims of not enough riders of a decent standard being available being voiced.
  8. As I posed earlier, it would be interesting to know what the riders take on this is?
  9. Can't call it the Summer Trophy out of respect to Spud who is retirering l
  10. Just noticed that as recently as Tues (18th) Leicester were still under the impression that Glasgow would still contest the Jubilee Final according to their Website. Something really does stink about this with absolutely no consideration to fans.
  11. Hmmm - will the Kent Kings have to change their name?
  12. One thing no one has mentioned is how 3 riders were injured and had to withdraw from the Monarchs v Tigers group match. Glasgow, who I support, have now made a total farce of the competition and effectively made riders risk their health in meetings that have turned out to be meaningless. I assume it was The Promotion who took the decision to withdraw and were the riders asked their opinions. After all it would have been another 3 pay cheques going into the off season for riders. Guess we'll never know.
  13. So why are we only hearing about it now? Why were Glasgow's views not made public earlier as a courtesy to their fans at the very least?
  14. Yeah 10 riders hardly constitutes a higher standard. Higher pay maybe and that's about it
  15. Are they going to refund the admission charges fan paid to watch meaningless group qualifiers? Don't see it happening but would be nice if Edinburgh being group runners uo were offered Glasgow's place.
  16. British Champion signing for a full season at Birmingham? Newcastle spending money they obviously didnt have on repairing a track to continue the season with a No1 and his sidekick No7 who was out of his depth? An abandoned British Final resulting in a rider being nominated to do the British GP ? BV signing a rider, who previously declined to ride in his home country's league, for THREE matches in a bid to win silverware? Biggest jokes though are BSPA and SCB.
  17. You should be spending your cash at a comedy club
  18. The sad fact us with the cost of living and fuel prices increasing it is only a question of time before visiting supporters become a thing of the past. When you consider what it must cost for fans of say Plymouth or Poole visiting Glasgow or Edinburgh and vice versa especially since 'tours' seem to have all but disappeared it is understandable that crowds are falling and at this point in the season play-offs and Mickey Mouse Jubilee meetings may be seen as extra income to promoters but there is a limit to how many meetings fans will want to attend. I know its said on a daily basis but speedway needs a major restructuring but promoters seems to be the only ones willing to accept that and it is only a question of time before speedway is only a ride at the fairground.
  19. Apathy is the only thing coming from Ashfield these days. There has been very little posted about anything on any of the social media sights. Terrible way to treat the fans.
  20. I'd like to see Marcin Nowak do a full season in the stripes and I think Paul Starke should be on the team sheet for next season. He's been a good servant but I think Cookie will need a new challenge elsewhere if he is to keep any enthusiasm for the sport. As much as it would be nice see Ben back I can't help but think he and Tom maybe have more ambitious plans for their careers and will both want to step up their level of competition. Maybe if Glasgow moved up a division they would stay but I can't see a change of race night being in the Promotion's plans. Perhaps Glasgow can put their Australian and Danish contacts to use and Fraser Bowes may be worth taking a chance on and perhaps there is some other young Dane on the edges of breaking through. I mean if we can help Berwick secure a good 'un we must be able to find another for ourselves. (Would be nice to see our asset Anders Thomson back but again I think ambition may be the obstacle).
  21. Totally with you on that - sooner the PL and CL are amalgamated with sensible team building averages and no GP wanna-bes missing meeting the better.
  22. Don't think he is quite ready to move up to the PL with Sheffield or Kings Lynn just yet. Maybe another year
  23. For the sake of 10 or so rider who only ride in the PL is it really worth continuing with two leagues. Yes there may be a shortage of riders if there is only one combined league but look at restructuring the team set up with the two reserves being NDL standard and have their programmed rides solely against each other with a start from each gate. There are so many ways to improve the sport f only the powers that be would listen
  24. I think with that average he would expect him to be in the main body of whichever team he rides for and can't see him getting a spell at reserve unless he has a wee slump in form at some point. He is one of 3 or 4 I'd certainly welcome back next season.
