  1. you rang ok well as briefly touched on by myself and SCB earlier in the thread......if you are using a router other than the bulk standard ISP one you MUST configure it to 'port forward'......................configure it to allow ports 6654 to 6655 to forward to the internal address of the PC in question (you can find this out by going to start\run typing in 'cmd' press enter......then in dos box type in 'ipconfig' (or winipcfg if you are using a dinosaur) otherwise all that is happening is that people trying to connect are just hitting your router which is not allowing people through has anyone got a game running? edit: also one thing to consider with the server business is if you are running a firewall (software) and it is not setup to automatically ask you if you would like to accept tcp traffic on ports 6654 and 6655 (most firewalls are automated with this kind of thing though)
  2. will do I have a couple of other projects which I MUST get finished first but once I have I'll try to come up with something good although im not sure if there will be that much dodgy 80's music .......only kidding! ..............if anyone has any requests I will do my best to include them....................incidentally i've only managed to change the two bits of menu music.....I haven't been able to change the music that comes on at the end of the race as i'm not sure where that file lives yet....but that is next thx for the instructions on adding tracks......it works out of interest Mikowhy...........which pack is able to work with all other versions? eg if we use the British pack and try to connect to servers using polish pack will we have problems?
  3. blimey that sounds serious! PM'd you ......
  4. id suggest extracting it again but keeping the folder seperate from the original folder we all downloaded ......when I play british I use the exe in the british folder and when I play polish I use the exe in the other folder.... i'm sure there must be a way to have all tracks using one exe but it didnt work for me another good racing session tonight ..............Cardiff is becoming like a gladiatorial ring
  5. btw Mikowhy after the conversation about the music I was curious enough to look into it and have had lots of success basically the music is in OGG file format..............so I looked for programs which could convert my MP3's ......I tried the first one I found which can be downloaded here..........it is a trial version which will allow 10 conversions I've converted Ready Steady Go by Paul Oakenfold and Spitfire by The Prodigy (2 good speedway anthems )...............but then made copies of the two files that were in the turbo sliders music folder before deleting them....and then renamed the two converted files as sliders_main and sliders_cup.....................job done anyone around and wanting to race??
  6. adz if you are still there can you try something out for me please? could you try connecting to 82.18.66.14 for me please.........would like to get server settings up and ready for future
  7. it was great fun! Good to have Mikowhy show us how the Poles do it and give us something to aim for I think i've finally found something to wean me off halflife was gutted that I couldn't take part in your Cardiffthon as I think along with Sheffield it is my favourite track p.s. kinda confused by the whole lining up at the gate behind a rider .....does this mean 8 rider races are possible? .....and yeah Belle Vue is a challenge
  8. managed 26.592 at Rye .....be interested in your times
  9. thats an incredible time pete..........I can't seem to get any better than 29.80 .............were you white lining or taking other lines?
  10. no still not working ..................i'm just getting 'connecting' and then after a while 'connection failed' I managed to get in on mine from another PC on the network by using the external address ..........
  11. well you paid attention at least a little then ok have just updated mine........could you try again and let me know if you can connect please?
  12. im starting to totally think it is the router.............i think maybe we need to find out the port it uses and then add it in the 'port forwarding' section on the routers
  13. just typing 'whatismyip' in google brings up about 10 different IP's for me edit: nope hang on............SCB try 82.18.66.14 and we'll see what happens
  14. I think maybe you miss my point SCB.......once we get 2 or more riders injured from the same qualifier the standard of replacements starts to go down dramatically....while the likes of Lukas Dryml and NKI twiddle their thumbs........I agree with the system......up until maybe two riders from the same qualifier have been injured and then perhaps replacements from other qualifiers should come into play
  15. yeah cheers .........I understand the concept and the prime reasons for the system ...but surely when riders from the same qualifier get injured the system starts passing over quality riders for those with slightly less
  16. I'm confused! (nothing strange there then! ) With Ales withdrawing Renat gained a place in the lineup.....ok even though he was from a different qualifier he had the (equal) highest points total from the non qualifiers which had given him a reserve slot David Howe gains his place as a reserve as a result of Renat joining the lineup..........yet David Howe only scored 8 points in his qualifier.......a total which is behind Lukas Dryml (10) NKI (9) Danis Gizatulin (9) Freddie Lindgren (9) and equal to Seb Ulamek (8) Jurica Pavlic (8) and Tomas Topinka (8) Now it seems unfortunate injuries to David Ruud and Janusz Koldziej means that David Howe gains a place in the lineup...............which now begs the question of who the meeting reserves are now........ If David Howe gained his reserve place because of Ales Dryml's withdrawel ...i.e. because he came from the same qualifier....................then that should also mean that Mattia Carpanese (7) should take David Ruud's first meeting reserve place and that Lukas Dryml (10) will become 2nd meeting reserve as he was next in line from Janusz's qualifier if all this is correct am I the only one who thinks it is barking mad that David Howe and Mattia Carpanese should be ranked ahead of guys who scored 2 or 3 points more than them?
  17. I cannot see Jaroslaw being discarded in favour of Janusz and I cannot see Poland having 3 riders as opposed to GB's 1 .......maybe i'm wrong but I feel it would be breaking BSI's unspoken rules when it comes to selecting WC's...................(reading what I have typed back it certainly shows why some find GP selection to be farcical................I say only allow the top 4 to be seeded + 2 WC's....That would clear things up!) Of course something else to consider with WC's (and being a Reading supporter I wonder if this is influencing you) is the BSI connection at Reading........there were quite a few forumers crying foul at Matej's inclusion (although he has obviously justified his inclusion so far) ................I wonder if it would work for or against Janusz and rumoured target Rico? Your first point on Rico had occured to me also ..........the second point doesn't make so much sense to me as in GP interviews he hasn't shown any sign of chucking the towel in when it comes to making the top 8
  18. Things are not looking good for Janusz...........would it be possible to return from a broken collarbone in only 17 days?
  19. programming has never been my forte......thx SCB......... yeah I think I could get into this
  20. Did we ever find out why Rico pulled out of the qualifying round? It seemed an odd thing to do if he didnt have good reason.......... I agree I think it would be good for the GP's to have more representation from other countries.........to have a Russian, Finn or German in there would be great.......although I would fear for their competitiveness over the course of a whole series.........but then again I would fear the same for the likes of Rico Steady and Bomber...............if as you say Steady or Bomber could finish in the top 5 then they would strengthen their case.....................I do feel that Bomber will have to significantly improve his EL average to be in with a chance of a WC though the same scenario as the Jaroslaw one could apply to Antonio though if the Karlsson brothers qualified????? I still think regardless of the qualifiers BSI would find it extremely difficult to 'sack' Hampel or Lindback
  21. yeah looks interesting and any speedway game that networks nicely can only be good unfortunately I didnt get far in the menu due to me being a typical only English speaking Brit
  22. and it is really bugging me but ive been trying to work out Leigh's riding style on the bike and what it looks like he is doing............I feel that we should be told about this 6 times a GP as well thx you saved me the trouble To take things further though Barrow Boy if you look at the points standings and the riders involved, as I have posted elsewhere, it is becoming plainly obvious that the top 11 are safe for next season.....there are no obvious candidates for the sack if they finish outside of the top 8 ........unless of course they have annoyed anyone backstage 'Hans style'
