  1. Phillip, as you rightly state, even though Rickardsson had been eliminated he still had a smile on his face. Obviously the pressure on Rickardsson had dropped quite considerably because he had not long before witnessed both Crump and Pedersen, who I am sure he expected more of, fall by the wayside. Crump having lost last years championship by virtue of one bad round know he faced an uphill battle after Poland, so by going out before the semi finals was just enough to send him over the edge. Perhaps sky will give the guy a little more respect and value his privacy next time.
  2. Ian, to get into 'the main event' a rider must register two finishes as second or higher. In Lyon's case he had in his first ride only finished third, so despite winning his next heat left him requiring a 1/2 place finish to continue. Greg Hancock for example only needed two rides to gain qualification after finishing first and second.
  3. Still undecided? Check this link out for pubs within walking distance of the stadium, http://www.cardiffmatchday.co.uk/
  4. I seem to remember making the trip last summer with PB tours. A tremendously hot day spent on a coach lost in Belgium. We arrived at the track late and then missed the ferry home! The track was probably one of the worst I've seen. The holes in it were incredible! I also remember a really hard concrete "safety" fence! i was there that day, not a bad racing strip, and the beer weren't bad either
  5. steve jones, full throttle and partner will be staying sat night in Barry. but can be found proping up a bar from about 3pm.
  6. Will anyone be able to get regular updates for this meeting?
  7. Thanks Luncy, I recall being told that the costs had come from something that needed doing after the meeting, and the cleaning was what I thought , but in retrospect I think your acount is more accurate.
  8. Thanks for the info KH. I was a long time fan of Mitch when he started at Coventry. I had guessed he would be about 42+
  9. as i understood it, the promoter had budgeted to looose about A$500,000. the attendance was above the expected so the loss was not as big, but other factors got in the way. I understand that at a lot of these 'one off' stadia, clean up cost are phenominal, that is why at Cardiff (for example) you see lots of seats covered to prevent dust/shale mess. I don't think this was done in Aus so the cost of cleaning afterwards took the tatol loses well above the budget. I am not sure if these are true facts, but reading between the lines of what I was told that is what I think happened
  10. with easy jet the prices fluctuate daily, when we trid to book the tickets they were advertised at £14 outward for Friday, but when we booked three tickets they came up as £27, (plus airport tax) what you must do is try departing and returnung on different days to get the cheapest price. If you are staying in Prague with your boyfriend or mum or whoever, then go to a hostel, it only cost about £10 a night although you will be sharing a bathroom with others If you need any more help e-mail me direct
  11. I'm flying from EMA with Easyjet £63 return. Travelling to Prague on Frifay and returning to EMA on Tuesday. The cheapest flight we saw was about £30, but that was going on Sat and returning Sunbay, biggets problem was ensuring you got there in time for the GP, hold ups, customs etc etc. By the way my hotel is costing only £86 for four nights, so I'm taking her indoors for a break.
  12. In the final round of the series the meeting was won by ex Bee Mitch Shirra ahead of Stuart Robson and Jason Bunyan. Third place for Bunyan was god enough to make him winner of the series, with Robson finishing in overall second place.
  13. beegee, go into any William Hill bookies and just give the person behind the counter £5, and tell them you want it all on M Max to win the Speedway GP outright, If it happens you get back £130, (but I think Hills are safe) I think you are being a tiny bit harsh here but maybe I will bet each way do I stand a chance do you think? how much for a £5 bet if he get 2nd ir 3rd? I have to find a William Hill bookies first don't think they have one in Telford! Can I bet by phone or on the internet? betting on the internet requires you to open an account, if you are not a betting person I would rule this out, also I think the same applies to telephone betting. If there is no W Hills in Telford try another bookie, perhaps Ladbrokes, Stanley Racing although I am not sure if they accept Speedway bets, but until you ask you wont know any different, Alternatively, meet me at Wolves on 24th and give ne the £5 and i will place the bet for you, (then if the bet does come in I can send you a cheque to cover your winnings) If you bet £5 each way that costs £10, but if you only want £5 in total the bet would be £2.50 each way, I think the return for a place is 1/4 the odds, if that is so then you would be loking at 7x£2.50 approximately
  14. Sean, check your messages before booking the flights...
