Dunno about Billy being a favourite for 1983 but he won me £30 (about £62 in todays money!),I drew him on the coach sweepstake and they paid out for the top three places,one happy 12 year old that day

1985 would have been Shawn Morans year,maybe even 84!

I remember him,he probably died of old age without ever being proved right,which must have been a touch disappointing for him after so many years!

Oh no,not the early 1980's aka the Glover regime of tightfistedness,dodgy Aussie 'wonderkids' and Shawn Moran lol Well the first meeting of the '81 season was on March 26th against Halifax, which the Tigers won 50-46 ,top tiger was Dave Morton with 17, fastest time of the night was 67.6! Wimbledon came on May 21st and got stuffed 58-20,Shawn with a four ride max and Reggie paid 8 from reserve,fastest time was 65.7! If you want anymore details,I'll put them up for you Shalewhale. My own first meeting was the Yorkshire Bank Trophy in early summer 1977,not that I cared,I wanted to go home after 3 heats,just like lastnight!

There was the 10 rider,10 lap final at the Sheffield Diamond Jubilee meeting back in 1988,the riders lined up 3-2-3-2 with the last two starting virtually on the 4th turn,Kelly won it ,starting at the front,best gate he evermade lol,but it was a great sight watching them all go round,I think about 7 finished the race in all.

Says in this weeks SS that Kelly is begining his comeback in the East Coast Spring Classic at Action Park,New York,on May 24th,aslong as he can get some sponsorship,anyone got a few $$ to spare :?:
