The team who replaced him and won the league...?

Sheffield V Northampton 11/06/26
Andrew replied to Bald Bloke's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
If the two N'hampton meetings had gone ahead (tonights was to have been r2 in the original fixtures) we'd have had half of our home fixtures for the season. Two home meetings a month is workable until the weather hits or there is no other team free to come. -

Well it is raining in Sheffield right now,so it was the right call. -
Steady probably had the holiday booked for half term week way before the fixtures came out. As for Anders keep him,we know what he can do and to be fair all the Tigers have had a duff score so far this season.I would swap him and Leon over though.

Live updates forum was actually started in around 2002 by Sheffield fan Krissie,as people had tried posting updates on the then BSF and it was eating Sheffield fan Phil's bandwidth lol .So Krissie set up the separate forum.I did Sheffield home meetings for 2 and bit seasons when meetings ran alot faster so I just concentrated on getting the score right, not like Squall's in depth commentary we get nowadays! The for some reason it fell apart abit and Crazy Sue rebuilt it back up and kept it going to the present day to her credit. Around then there was an "official" online updates page on the web,but you had to know the right person or persons to access it.

Anyone confirm that Luke was 3rd in Ht11 as the ref's official scorecard has Josh finishing 3rd even though he was behind Luke all race with a clutch problem.(Ending my Tigers Helmet bet before it started!) The Tigers official page has Josh 11+1,Luke 5+1 which is what I have written down ,yet the ref's scorecard has Josh 12+1 ,Luke 4+1. A point in the wrong place when it comes to team averages might have a effect down the line.

The most dangerous riders

Sean wasn't excluded from the meeting just heat 1. -
Tom Brennan might be on Sheffield's radar,he's on the right sort of average to build a new middle order.

That's the thing about Roman,he was a good (but very hard!) rider when he was fully focused. People have mentioned Nicki, but wasn't his brother Ronnie just as robust? -

Holders cant ride Foxhall..... -
Only ever seen a double tape touch exclusion once, but it was way back in time. One of the riders involved was Neil Collins, sometime in the early 90's.I do remember Dad and myself were sat in the Panorama Room looking down at the start line when it happened.

King’s Lynn vs Sheffield - 29.07.24

Don't really need to win, just get the bonus point so get to 33 and have done with it. -
Greg Bartlett got excluded for unfair riding after his first ever race for Sheffield back in 1994.He locked up on the 4th turn on the 3rd lap while in 3rd and the Ref decided he had impeded the rider in 4th.Not seen a decision like that since.Tom Brennan was extremely hard on Jan Kvech last week at Owlerton in a move Nicki/Sean Wilson would have been hard pressed to beat!

Ha Kyle on a rodeo! -
Last years play off final 2nd leg! But one that I always remember is the 1985 Overseas Final at Bradford won by Shawn after a run off with "the great enemy from Halifax" who he beat in heat one as well. Also it was only the second time I'd seen 'Sudden Sam' and in one ride he went from 4th to 1st then proceeded to work his way back to last in a epic race!

Sheffield v Birmingham - 30th May
Andrew replied to InTheDeepStuff's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Sadly this will go down as my dad's last meeting (well over 1500 home meetings at Owlerton) as he passed away suddenly in the early hours of today. He first went as a 17 year old in 1960,the track record was about 72 seconds,he got to see Jack go round in 58.92 aged 81. He was still watching racing from Poland last evening on TV,first Jack's Polish team then when that got curtailed,we ended up watching big brother Chris and Tobi! It pleased him to see Kyle back on form,he liked riders like Kyle, the mainstay of league speedway riders down the years, but his absolute favorite rider was Jim Airey.- 64 replies

Heat Leader https://worldofspectrum.net/item/0012577/ At The Tapes https://worldofspectrum.net/item/0013397/
-
No,but I did have 'At the Tapes' a few years earlier circa 1984/85. You could break into the program listing and alter riders averages so you could rack up 60 point home wins! Just looked Heat Leader up and it looks a newer version of At the Tapes.

No worries, anyhow we also get a free signed team photo, can't beat that !
