  1. Absolutely. Even when they get things right they still change it. Most fans are home fans who don't give a stuff if the away team get an extra point anyway so it means nothing.
  2. Yeah. The FS1-E Challenge Cup would be a good one to start on.
  3. I suggest you watch the 1984 British Final, when Morton in particular was very vocal about calling the meeting off. And it probably would have been had Kenny Carter not gone against everyone else and said he wanted to ride.
  4. If Bomber and the other few had wanted to race they would have raced. As far as I can see, the only two rider who are innocent are Andreas Jonsson and Troy Bachelor - both of whom had withdrawn through injury. (Otherwise they'd have probably been guilty too!)
  5. The track at Wembley in 1975 was terrible. Some people even reckoned it cost Peter Collins a chance of winning. Oh, and guess who did end up winning!
  6. Because it's Eurosport. Sky would have got someone down in the pits and covered what was going on.
  7. Actually I'm anything but 'all things speedway'. Maybe that's why I actually enjoy it when I go. Bet you go again. Bet you do.
  8. Then again, I only go 3 or 4 times a year. So maybe not!
  9. It doesn't offend. Just makes you look like a miserable old sod, that's all. We decided to go to this because it is school holidays and my son was badgering me to take him. I said it would probably be a low crowd and Swindon had loads of injured riders but he insisted. When I saw the crowd it wasn't massive, but it was better than I thought it would be. As was the atmosphere, although, in hindsight maybe we were just embarrasing ourselves leaping about and enjoying ourselves while everyone else in the stadium was stood around contemplating their own deaths. It didn't seem like that at the time though. There does seem to be a small number on here who go out of their way to undermine everything Swindon do. It just seems a bit odd really. Last night seemed fine to me, and it was nice to see Hans who always seems to enjoy his returns to Blunsdon. The party political broadcast on behalf of the Conservative party was a bit odd though.
  10. Ignore it, Red Robin. It's just typical PL fan bleating about how their league is better even though it's, like, lower and that. And why, if someone hasn't been to Blunsdon for 2 years, would they choose a match v Lakeside with 4 Swindon riders out injured and it being the second meeting of the week - the other being a crowd attracting Bank Holiday clash against our number one rival and league champions?
  11. I guess Swindon must just have the most miserable arsed people in the UK. I'm from elsewhere so I probably just got lucky. Anyway, I enjoyed last night and when things are bad I'm quick to complain.
  12. Well me, my wife and my son were shouting during races, and so were people around us near the start line. I don't go every week and if I pay to go somewhere I do my best to enjoy it. I guess I just didn't see all the miserable sods stood around complaining about there being no atmosphere. It's not case of getting people rushing through the turnstiles, but it may stop some of the kids there thinking it's dated and old fashioned. It's probably subliminal, but surely it needs to be kept modern. When I went as a kid in the 70s they were playing up to date music. They weren't playing Glenn Miller and 40s stuff.
  13. I thought the atmosphere was ok actually. Some decent races and a fair bit of shouting and cheering going on. You are right about the music, though. I just don't understand why they have to play music from over 30 years ago.
  14. Every time Swindon ride against Lakeside I look at the line-ups and think we'll win. Then we lose. Anyway, looking at the line-ups, I think we'll win.
  15. All it needs is a simple grading system. Rory Schlein - heatleader - CMA 6.22 Josh Grajczonek - Second String - CMA 6.40 Guest for Grajczonek would need to be a second string 6.40 or below. Guest for Schlein could be any heatleader below 6.22 or any second string (regardless of average). Not difficult really. So, if anything, you're saying they should be using Watt's average instead of Grajczonek? Otherwise, Grajczonek is a member of the side. Sure, Grajczonek's average is way too high. But that's not Poole's fault. That's the BSPA's fault.
  16. Poole have flouted nothing. If Swindon needed a guest for Nick Morris at Coventry and Rory Schlein became available would you expect them to say no?
  17. Surprised that James Wright is at this level now. He was a decent rider for us a few years back.
  18. Nothing wrong with an interval. It's just that they should have it about half way through the meeting, and just have one instead of fourteen of them.
  19. Perhaps she's the top rider in Argentina.
