I see Team GB have been drawn with Australia, Sweden and Germany in the 1st Semi Final. The second Semi Final is taking place in Pardubice on the 6th June and features Denmark, Finland, Czech Republic and Russia. Poland are seeded directly into the final. Does anyone know the teams representing Australia, Sweden and Germany? Of particular interest as I will be making my first trip to a speedway meeting in Europe

Well they asked the supporters to vote for what they wanted the team to be called! They did and they choose a different name!! I think thats called a democracy Seriously though, although as stated elsewhere the track was really poor, its great to see proper second halves taking place at Mildenhall, just a real pity that Marc Owen was injured although Ashley Morris was a good replacement

Thanks NJT, he certainly looked good on a speedway bike yesterday! Out of interest do you know who were the Weymouth riders he beat in that second half?

The second part of todays meetings was really enjoyable, thought Morris was rather unlucky as although clearly moving on the first two occasions he didnt seem to move much to me on the third time of asking, maybe the referee was looking for him I understand he was having clutch trouble before the start of the final. He was clearly the best rider on show in the 500cc, although Josh Dingle who I'd not heard of before was also very impressive, I assume he has been riding in 2nd halves at the likes of Plymouth . Well done to Adam Kirby representing the 'Fen Tigers' who rode well and our Number 8 today Tom Stokes who reached the final As pudding said some of the lads in the 250cc heats could realy ride, Freemantle, Downes, Lambert and Stoneman in particular impressed. That said all 18 riders who rode were a credit to themselves and hopefully I'll be able to see at least another couple of these rounds!

I think its five from each round, with the three 6th placed riders racing off for the final place, dont quote me though -
Tom was due to be in the 2nd half at Mildenhall on Sunday, but heard he had taken a knock. Hopefully this will not prevent him from taking his place in Saturdays line up!

Kings Lynn 21 Chris Widman 2 2 3 = 7 Liam Rumsey 0 3 2 = 5+1 Rhys Naylor 2 2 1 = 5+2 Tom Stokes 1 1 2 = 4+2 Scunthorpe 15 Ashley Morris 3 3 3 3 = 12 Montana Jowett 1 0 1 0 = 2 Jack Hirst DNR Jordan Tyrer 0 1 f = 1 Heat 1 Morris Widman Jowett Rumsey 2-4 2-4 66.31 Heat 2 Morris Naylor Stokes Tyrer 3-3 5-7 66.06 Heat 3 Rumsey Naylor Tyrer Jowett 5-1 10-8 70.40 Heat 4 Morris (15mtrs) Widman Stokes 3-3 13-11 66.59 Heat 5 Widman Rumsey Jowett Tyrer (f) 5-1 18-12 67.22 Heat 6 Morris Stokes Naylor Jowett 3-3 21-15 66.47 Very enjoyable second half of which Ashley Morris was the undoubted star, fast times ona slick track and a brilliant pair of passes in heat 4 when off 15 mtrs for a tapes touching offence. Tom Stokes and Liam Rumsey showed alot of promise as did Jordan Tyrer who unfortunately fell when second in his last ride, but showed improvement in each of his races.

British U15 Championship 2009
PhilK replied to PhilK's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
Thanks for that SS , 3pm is much better for travelling fans and riders I'd imagine, well it certainly is for me On another tack I see the Newport meeting is May 23rd Which is the Newport/BSPA site is correct means speedway three days running at Newport as they are due to ride Workington on 24th in the PL and the Isle Of Wight on 25th in the NL! I'm surprised that the U15 round doesnt form part of a double header with one of the other metings purely on a cost basis -

Hi Neil Is this confirmed only 5 in the 500cc competition? I know when this thread started there were in the region of 12-15 names suggested as possible entrants, surprised that more are not taking part. -
