  1. Justine Elkins. Haaving seen him ride around Poole for about 2 years before meetings & having times 4 laps up to signing for the Pirates winning his opening heat in heat 2 what a start. Sadly that was about the highlight. Marcus Bisson might be another real exciting leg trailing rider from the Channel Islands, Saw him beat Gordon Kennet in heat 8, when Gordon was on a Tactical Substitution ride against Eastbourne at Poole but sometimes it just wasn't his night. If you went to Exeter the Martyn Yeates would get a mention. Wins heat 1 with the fastest time of the season and then trail in with 2 terrible 0's a good distance behind the rider in 3rd place.
  2. As you can tell from above I've never to Nicki P and you can add to that list Todd Wiltshire a bit of a gating tart but I respected his return from a seriuos injury Martin Goodwin Andrew Silver Flyin Ryan Sullivan just didn't take to him even tho he rode for Poole Hans Nielsen more than likely he was just better than any Pirate in the mid 80's except Micheal Lee Eddie Kennett had the skill just seemed not to bother/try Bjarne Pedersen A great servant to Poole but at times just seemed to let others go by without any effort at defending his line
  3. Too true Proud Panther. Heaven help the rider that dared tocharge under Nikki as he feels that it is only fair when he does it. Of course you were going through the gap as you had NO intention of turning without hitting the other rider.
  4. I remember tat he was recalled to the Pirates team in 82 are Peter Prinsloo had a horror crash against Eastbourne. Always seemed to be a trier but Poole were an awfully poor team that year. I do recall that in heat 2 the tapes wouldn't go up correctly and the riders were caught in the remains of the tapes on a number of meeeting in the middle of the season. As I was only 13 at the time I never got to see Danny after a meeting as I had to go home for school the next day.
  5. My top 3 tracks are in order are 1 Station Road Long Eaton 2 The County Ground Exeter 3 Elfield Park Milton Keynes Hastings stadium the former home of the Saxon's was pretty good but I never saw any speedway there, it closed about 35 years before my visit to watch a football game, but you could still see 95% of the track. I suppose I should of put London stadium in my top 3 but the glass just killed any atmosphere.
  6. This might sound like a silly question but how is the point scoring sorted in this event? thanks for any info
  7. Having just gone on to the greyhound website for Birmingham they race all weekend which would be another obsticale. It is great news we have the challenge meeting down here so hoping to be able to attend.
  8. I hope that Exeter do return to the track 1 day. I have many fond memories of the County ground and being very fortunate to be one of the several thousands to attend the final meeting. At least speedway is being kept alive with Plymouth & I hope it stays that way for many a year to come.
  9. Martin Yeates riding for Poole at Exeter was the same when I saw him. Fastest time of the season when winning heat 1. Then in his other 3 or maybe 4 rides tailing away in a last place by almost the lenght of a straight.
  10. I think that with 2 major sporting events taking place in Cardiff with the cricket finals just up the road that would force up hotel prices. Just need to get the M4 to operate properly so you can get out of Wales swiftly!
  11. That might be true but at least Holder leaves some room to race unlike Nicki, Having said that there is nothing in the rules that state you have to leave racing room & Nicki does just that. With the Holder Bjarne collision I believe that the Ref called it correct there might of been some room but not enough to get a bike & rider through it, Having seen Nicki ride over the years he would of been through the space like a shot & taken all of Bjarne's space too just ask Matej Ferjan for that one. Again Nicki took the urine with his antics with Emil after there race had finished. In the Semi's Nicki & Holder both deserved their EXC's but Nicki needs to learn to stick to a line & not use them all. As for heat 22 Emil was struggling to get control again & was going too slow & Bjarne had 2 choices either try & avoid Emil which he did of go through him (not the wisest move). Better luck next time Emil
  12. Same old Nicki, It is ok for him to knock you out of the way but not for you to give him a bash
  13. Kick off is 18:00 local time. Just remember with the 20/20 cricket Finals at Sofia Gardens will make Cardiff an even bigger scrum than normal
  14. The 1st GP was held the same day as Australia V Pakistan at Sophia Gardens & I attended both the speedway & the cricket. To make going home harder some idiot on the transport department thought it might be an idea to shut one of the bores of the Newport tunnel. The difference being on this event is that it will be going on all day with about 20,000 or so attending from around the country.
  15. No worries from me. I never knew the first post had been made
  16. Well if I was to try and attend the 20/20 then I would be a person frequenting the chip alley . But instead I will be at the speedwayinstead as I would want to watch the final Live if I had bought tickets to the event
  17. Sorry Gemini you are correct but I haven't been on the Intertnational & Grasstrack forum so stand corrected
  18. For those that might not know or are in No way interested in Cricket on the day of our event there is the 20/20 Finals day in Cardiff at Sofia Gardens. This is just a short walk down the road from the Millenium stadium so Parking could very well be a nightmare let alone getting a hotel for the night of the event itslef if you leave it too late as fans from 4 teams could be making their way to Cardiff. The Cricket starts at 11am but will still be going on well after the GP has finished and if the weather is a little inclement like last year it finished around 11PM
  19. I wish that another rider had been seeded through. Nothing against Bomber but if you can't qualify one you own track in the GP Challenge final what hope is there? Good luck Tai
  20. Thats a little harsgh don't you think? Having said that I am really greatful to Davey for his commitment to my team for showing up. Just hope the FIM give some leaway with the fine but just don't think so
