  1. Something to watching tomorrow. Hope it is shown in full only so I can see how bad it was. Hope Gemini never forced Lucy & Molly to go and watch this. Might see them on the gogglebox
  2. [quote name="The White Knight" post="2615975" SAY!!! Who was that masked man? It could be Matt Fords fault, but I'll blame Ansell, Hodder & Stewksbury!
  3. That's harsh Gemini. I thought you were my friend on Facebook!
  4. At Poole years ago we used to have Fanfare for the common man by Emerson, Lake & Palmer at the teams made their way to the parade (At least it's better that most of the **** on BGT). That's a great tune unless I'm wrong. On the downside we had to endure Congratulations by Cliff Richard :-( . For some strange reason we had the William Tell Overture as the riders came under starters orders for every heat.
  5. I'm not knocking PK here but he was in a non heat leader position and had easier races, just like Noddy last night.
  6. Just been watching the GP. What a joke, ok I know that a green light start is within the rules of the sport but if you are going to re-run one race because of a tapes malfunction after 4 completed laps why not do it after Heat 2? I could understand why Nicki P was Peed off when he had to race his heat again so why not let heat 2 be restaged again? A top product this is not.
  7. Silly question here but what's happened to Robbo? Hope he's back on track soon.
  8. The only difference as I see it is that Kings Lynn would of rode at Poole first as neither teams wanted to face either Coventry or Swindon in the Semi Finals as both were depleted by injuries. Now if KL had really wanted a harder Semi would not of qualified for the Final anyway. OK neither would of Poole in that case.
  9. Good luck with the game and all the proceeds raised for Ricky
  10. Surprised that nobody has mentioned Per Jonson as best gater? for team riding would say Sudden Sam times that I saw him helping Jan Steachman at Woves Best Racer go with either Mark Loram, Darcy Ward or Tomasz Gollob if he missed the gate at Wroclaw in a GP Final https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-S9RyFEw9_E
  11. My top no1's would be Gordon Kennett Chris Louis Andrew Silver Paul Dugard Les Collins Jens Rasmussen Andy Galvin I would put Leigh Adams in this group but can't remember if he was our No1. I am not going to knock Kevin Smart but he was probably our worst No1 but had an awful crash in 2nd meeting & was never the same rider. I saw Stoney ride at Exeter prior to a GP weekend & was woeful looked like he wasn't trying but looked real impressive in the 2 fixtures I saw at Worky on the night Exeter won the title. I started watching 2nd Division speedway when Poole went NL in 1985
  12. As regarding to train drivers blowing there horns, except for emergency it is not permitted from 23:00 I believe.
  13. To me you lost the sound of the bikes. When I visited Wimbledon I would share the atmosphere with the pit bend looneys during the mid/late 80's. Loved all the noise from them. I saw a couple of meetings up at Shawfield one behind the glass & one on the terraces & liked it outside better but was a warmer time of the year.
  14. It might also have something to do with the fact that there was a very good chance of it raining and the meeting either being abandoned or even postponed
  15. It does state the best facilities and as they were brand new you have to admit they were pretty good. I preferred the old Waterdon Road stadium for the viewing but was extremely run down. When I visited it was a freezing cold day and I was every so glad of the glass stadium, but sadly the speedway to me looses something by missing the sound of the bikes behind the glass.
  16. Have to agree with the above about Wimbledon. The other track would be London Stadium in Hackney.
  17. You seem so sure that Mr Mole has no interest in the long term future. To be fair I think his plan is to get it up & running again for the next owner to keep it running and organise a long term plan. You have to bare in mind that the team this year was awful & no wonder the fans stayed away. As so many people said on so many other threads when you have little entertainment on track you'll spend you hard earnt elsewhere, just look at Oxford a few years ago. Good luck Brummie fans.
  18. you cheeky so and so! I am currently reading this on my phone
  19. the good news is that the stadiums are enclosed which will help keep the noise levels down a bit, but still too expensive here.
  20. Thank you for that Claret73. every track has it's problems. Poole's is it's antiquated main stand and I won't go on about the track work the other week. Belle Vue , well the less said the better because hopefully the new stadium is coming and are leaving the Dogbowl soon. Coventry I have only been their once and the racing was awful with a really heavy track with next to no passing in the Title playoff in 2010. The viewing on the home straight where you are head height to the track is odd. Eastbourne sadly leaving the league but the facilities again leave alot to desire but the racing isn't too bad. Kings Lynn Having been there only once on a wet night about 15 years ago I think. The racing looks exciting tho Lakeside just too far from the action and no seating unless you bring your own seat facilities more suited for the banger racing fans. Leicester I haven't been to but going by other comments here is no passing unless a rider makes an error. Swindon great racing but the untold horrors of the back staight toilets to go with the above comments. From a fans point of view the catch fencing on the bends spoilt the track action. Wolverhampton as much as I hate to say it the stadium is great for viewing the racing probably the best facilities from a fans point of view. Birimingham another track I have I only been to once great facilities but from my view point on the 1st bend could hardly see the riders on bends 3&4.
  21. As suggested earlier my mum would say Tony Lewis & ken Middleditch. She always said that they were called me & my shadow. You don't see it too often nowadays, having said that Darcy Ward can control the pace for a slower teammate.
  22. I have set this to record now just have to do the second part and watch it. When you consider that I used to go nearly every week to watch I just haven't been able to attend any meetings yet this year :-(
  23. Good luck to the future return of the Islanders. Thanks for giving us Chris Holder
  24. If you are being that way inclined I as glad the Piotr Proteciewicz wasn,t at Poole for long.
  25. I understand about missing the gate. There is a big difference tho in just pootling around at the back, It was always 3,0,0,0.
