after the first practice session Nicholls & Barker were both changed and rode no more, yet the Poles used every minute, even having 4 of them on track at once .. and the difference tonight ........ -

i park in the carpark on Herbert Street, the one nearest the stadium .. i think they charge about £8 all day, and they say they close about an hour after last race .. still a handy place to park, only a short walk

Revamp - Less Polish Contol Over The Sport
stevehone replied to dirt's topic in International World of Speedway
i thought that when the GP was held in Sydney a few years ago there was so much money lost by the promoter it was quickly knocked on the head. not sure if it wasn't well enough supported or what the reason was, but i think financially it was a bit of a disaster. i also noticed at the start of the thread Dirt mentioned New Zealand when listing previous world titles etc, but that country soon disappeared from the thread when the mention of where a GP should be held came up -
people moaned when KL went PL, people moaned when KL were winning big each week, people moaned when KL were losing meetings at home .. never please all the people all the time, that's life

the full press release from the NA ... The King’s Lynn Stars have had to reluctantly part ways with popular Australian, Kevin Doolan. The Stars were keen to retain his services for the 2011 season but the two parties were unable to come to a financial deal. Buster Chapman is keen for the fans to understand that the both the club and Kevin have parted amicably ‘Kevin insisted he needed a pay rise which equated to around a 30% increase over the whole season. He said it was because of his increasing costs but the club could simply not afford to meet that request, especially with such an unsteady economy and the fact I would like to see our admission prices remain the same for next season. So unfortunately we had to shake hands and part ways. In view of us not being able to afford Kevin next season the chances are we will probably never be able to afford him again so we have decided that if any other club want him it will be on a full transfer only’. Buster Chapman is also keen to stress that he is worried for the financial future of many Premier League clubs ‘I would be surprised if any Premier League club could afford to employ a rider on these sort of terms and if they can then I wonder what sort of business plan they have in place. The fact is that speedways costs seem to be spiralling out of control but Stars fans can be confident that the club will never put its future in the balance for the sake of one or two riders!’

Darcy Ward came over and there was no disputing his talent, but because of his visa he wasn't able to ride in the PL .. i guess Mark has a similar visa.

so if Harris would have made that 'never seen a better ride' when he was on a joker would you be saying it was a great decision? sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, maybe it was pressure got to Harris which then points it his way -

Sharron, you don't know me at all, a lot has changed in 23 years. i have a very good job thankyou very much, one i absolutely love, and i don't need to 'blag' a book, it was handed to me already signed to me .. i think a book in exchange for years of giving up my bedroom is ok don't you? you keep going anyway, people will soon work things out. -
