Steve is back in Oz and Richard works for Anglian Water

i know Lionel has definately passed away, i was just after info as to what he did after Wimbledon closed and if anyone knew where he is buried

just wondering if anyone on here has info on Lionel Crossley (he rode for Crystal Palace) i used to know Lionel when he was timekeeper at Wimbledon in the 80s and thought he was one of the nicest and most genuine people i have ever met in the sport. i hadn't seen him since Wimbledon closed in 91 and have often thought about what he was up to after that. i know Lionel has passed away but does anyone know if he is buried and where?

yeah you weren't alone... i even booed myself at times but hey, i got on great with Steve Brown and the rest of the loonies on the first bend at Wimbledon... great days actually

'he was a tough un' ... wouldn't have argued with Ivan's mechanic Gordon Stobbs!!

got everything autographed... what annoyed me back then was having to give my bed up for him. lets just say, we knew what sort of meeting he would have before it started... times he was injured but being forced to ride etc ... can't say too much... he's due over soon

my dad and me could certainly tell some things about some of the individual meetings some of the things he did and said before and after some meetings were 'interesting' ...

the 'Ivan Mauger Individual World Championship Trophy' how about a new winged wheel?

Jay was probably Wimbledon's top junior for a couple of seasons and rode now and again for Eastbourne i think... he was very quiet and a nice bloke also noticed Phil Vance (Dons junior from same era) has recently started grasstrack again

well thanks for answering and i think the decision was a wrong one and obviously you agree! there was no way this heat should have been re-run as it happens all over the place what i was getting at also, were the people on here ready to blame Hans Andersen and no-one else for defeat... basically i was pointing out that it was swings and roundabouts and unfortunately GB didn't win.

still no answer to my earlier question... thought i'd post to bring it back to the top

Can you explain that one because that doesn't sound very nice sounds like bribery Also good on the Mrs after all she backed the Danes on the "Who's Gonna Win Thread" must of been pretty quiet in your house bribery??? where's the bribery?? just saying if personal comments come this way they will have a habit of coming back, that's all.... no bribery. and with regards to the Mrs backing the Danes... just because she backed them, doesn't mean she was supporting them...now go and have a little think about it i backed the Aussies but didn't want them to win...as you can see from my post, i wanted GB to win because i like one rider more in their team than i do any of the others. backing and wanting are two different things.
