The whole point of this "non-message" was to highlight that the Bracebridge Engineering and Kalsi Kitchens options were open to the fans. Which is not to say that they weren't "unofficially" open to the fans before, as many had been parking there anyway for many years already. Another of Laurence Rogers's "smoke and mirrors" efforts to make out that the fans were getting something out of some kind of new sponsorship deal, thereby also highlighting that more and more sponsors were coming on board. As has been said already, the parking at the One Stop Shopping Centre, as long as the rules were adhered to meant that anyone parking after 4pm would have free parking until the end of the meeting without any problems, it's just couched in a form of words that puts doubt in the minds of people who want solutions spoon fed to them, rather than working things out for themselves.

I wonder what Sir Alan Lord Sugar would make of it all. Who would he fire? The guy who is responsible for all the crap signings, facility stunts and fake break-ins and equipment damage, or the guy financing this venture without dismissing the person who is wasting his money for him?
-
52% of that total identify as BAME. And when have you ever seen a BAME crowd at Speedway? (...waiting for all the "I know a black guy who goes" exceptions to that rule that are going to "prove me wrong")

That four hour period restriction ends at 8pm. So as long as you arrive after 4pm (and who doesn't?) you'll be OK as parking time after 8pm is unrestricted.

2024 Premiership Predictions
uk_martin replied to StarBoy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
As do we all. But here's a prediction that I'd be delighted to be proven wrong...namely that the Brummies #1 won't be revealed until the last minute (or some time in March in any case) And don't forget the new criteria for signing riders - it has to be a name that the team manager can pronounce properly. -
2024 Premiership Predictions
uk_martin replied to StarBoy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
There are dozens of riders on the continent who have never riden in the UK before who can do a better job than those "few" that you refer to. Broaden your horizons, think laterally. The "PL class of 2023" isn't the sole source of talent in the world. -
British Riders' Championships
uk_martin replied to brianbuck's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Let sleeping dogs lie before the trendy lefty politically correct thought police cancel those championships entirely on the grounds that they were not diverse or inclusive enough and were a homage to white supremacists, or something. Changing / correcting history for one cause will just be the thin end of a wedge. -
Why the fixation about Shamek when his star is on a consistent wane in Poland? Just because he once rode for Coventry in the days when his star was rising, doesn't make it a good idea to sign him now. If you want to sign a young Polish rider who is on the upward part of his career curve, try Oskar Fajfer. For his first year in the Ekstraliga last year, that lad did well, and will only improve from here on in,

The signing of Zach Cook has been announced. Hands up if you are surprised. Keep your hands up if you think there's "wow factor" with that signing,
-
That assumes that those are the last 3 riders on earth that you can possibly pick, There's a whole continent full of riders across the water that have never ridden in the UK before who would be able to do a better job. Broaden your horizons, you may be pleasantly surprised.
-
How are you making that assessment? Are you just looking at the 2023 PL rider roster and deducing that if you take away those riders signed by other teams, that the remainder are "available"? OK, but what about all those riders who are riding in Europe that weren't in the PL last year. That's a whole new ball game, with plenty of talent that could be tapped into,
-
Hold on, you're already fulfilled one criteria for not attending next season. So why does the new threat carry any weight, if you're already committed to not attending?
-
Please define "has beens". If you check out last years Polish League averages you'll see that Janusz Kołodziej was 3rd in the averages, and Jarek Hampel out-performed the likes of Robert Lambert who you said would be an awesome signing, let alone Maciej Janowski and Patryk Dudek, who despite his unavailability, has no end of admirers here. https://sportowefakty.wp.pl/zuzel/pge-ekstraliga/statystyki
-
Would Janusz Kołodziej and Jarek Hampel have "old" averages that they could bring forward, or would they have new assessed averages?
-
I suspect that Mr Rogers has other things on his mind at the moment...according to a recent Facebook post.
-
What are Brent Werner and Chris Kerr doing these days? Interesting how the Brummies get an American team manager whilst Laurence Rogers is spending his spare time helping the American Dream Team plan for the FIM Speedway of Nations.
-
I wonder if the Alan Graham Memorial Trophy 2024 will be a 3-Team-Tournament with nominal Cradley and Wolves teams in it? Or a 4TT with a notional Coventry team included?
-
Will Graham Drury be tempted out of retirement?

Announcements were promised for the Christmas Party on Saturday, so on my wish list would be: 1. A top quality Team Manager (Critical) 2. A top quality track curator (Vital) 3. A top quality witch doctor that can fix some decent weather for Monday nights. We'll let it rain as much as it likes Tue-Sat next year, but in exchange, Sundays & Mondays have to be nice.

Shamek is on his way down. Potty is OK But in any case, there are better alternatives. Kubera, Drabik or Fajfer would do a far better job than the Pawlicki bros IMHO. Birmingham constantly using tactical guest riders for an effectively non-existent rider??? The Brummies? Really? What kind of team manager could possibly devise such a cunning plan, then? I'd have thought that the importance of having and sticking with 7 actual Brummies riders is now more important than ever. The more the management prat around with guests and R/R the less and less the chances of new fans that are attracted through the gates are likely to stick with the sport.
-
As has been said, what the Brummies don't need is a "has been". Shamek Pawlicki fits that description down to a tee. Out of interest, What average would Dominik Kubera come in on? 24 years old, 7th in the Polish averages, rides in Sweden, so not unfamiliar with commuting. Just saying... If we're playing fantasy speedway predictions, he'd be a better bet than Dudek or either of the Pawlicki brothers. If there are to be 3 x Polish riders in the team, then to get solid performances, without requiring superstar salaries, I'd go for Dominik Kubera, Maksim Drabik and Oskar Fajfer. Potty Pawlicki is an option but he strikes me as being a "mini-Pedersen" and I don't know how long he'd be able to stay out of trouble. And trouble is one thing we don't need.

I was wondering where on earth Wiktor Lamparts name entered the equation. Did someone just pluck that name out of thin air or was there method to this? I can think of several names from the Polish League who I'd rather sign than Lampart. I don't think that just naming them and raising peoples hopes / driving them to despair, is really a constructive thing to do though, because then, when they are not signed, those in charge get the blame for not signing someone who was only ever on a fans radar and never on theirs.
-
So, will you be sticking to your word then? You never know, admission might be £1 cheaper at Leicester next year?
-
Two big variables in that statement. Firstly, the word "If" and secondly number "1" Say Zagar was intended to be a #2 or #3? There's another thread where someone has posted a fantasy Brummies team that has the Pawlicki brothers in the Brummies team, and Piotr would certainly be above Zagar in those rankings. Another fantasy team lists Artem Laguta as the Brummies #1. I won't worry about Zagar being in the team until I see the whole team and what his part is in it. Until then, chill!

If the MainSpeedwayManFan is truly in charge of team acquisition them don't rule out an attempt to coax James Shanes out of retirement to become our "rising star"
