Kent Kings V Cradley Heathens Nl 27/4cityrebel replied to blueherb777's topic in National League Speedway the crowd was down on the eastbourne meeting, but a local derby on a dry bank holiday afternoon was always going to attract a decent turn out. The official crowd figure for the eastbourne v king's Lynn meeting a couple of weeks ago was a lot higher than I estimated on the day, what do I know!

Kent Kings V Cradley Heathens Nl 27/4cityrebel replied to blueherb777's topic in National League Speedway it would take more than an act of god to save speedway!

the forecast does look dodgy at the moment, but Sunday is a long way off. I was at kent last night on a supposedly dry evening, where there was a downpour before start time!

Kent Kings V Cradley Heathens Nl 27/4cityrebel replied to blueherb777's topic in National League Speedway Last night was a meeting that Had it all. Rain, numerous re runs, crashes, fence damage and a few good races thrown in. We only got 14 heats, but after the earlier mayhem, we did well to get that amount!

Peterborough V Rye House 26 April Plcityrebel replied to Vincent Vega's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway Excellent meeting at the showground yesterday. Well run with plenty of decent races, well worth the trip.

Video Of 1995 Hackney Grand Prix Roundcityrebel replied to racers and royals's topic in Years Gone By The two that spring to mind for me are the world team cup qualifier at reading in 1979 and the Grand Prix final at Wimbledon in 1980. Both of these meetings were run in a sea of mud!

there is a lot of negativity at lakeside at the moment. The poor track conditions are an unwelcome addition to an already flat atmosphere. The long term future of the arena essex raceway coupled with the Central Park rumours, remind me of similar events at another club called the hammers over 40 years ago, when I was just a nipper!
-
very good, go straight to the top of the class!
-
It might be a repeat of 1996 when the hammers moved to hackney and CL racing continued at arena.
-
it doesn't read like that on the king's website. The reason for switching to Fridays would be to appease the locals by running on a non school night.
-
lakeside would probably become the kings if it did happen.
-
it will probably make no difference, because lakeside will move in at kent!

Warsaw Gp Saturday 18th Aprilcityrebel replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup just because Olsen won a few world finals doesn't mean he is a great track curator. Doc Bridgett was never a world champion, but is one of the best track men in the business. Perhaps BSI should give him a call.

Belle Vue National Stadiumcityrebel replied to PHILIPRISING's topic in Speedway News and Discussions I was at Swindon a few weeks ago, and considering it is supposed to be their last season at the abbey, there was no sign of any works commencing on the site of the new stadium. They will need to get a move on to get it ready in time for the 2016 season.

The way the sport is going in this country, the rest of the clubs will be joining the potters in the NL!

Warsaw Gp Saturday 18th Aprilcityrebel replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup it really is hard to see how it can survive in it's present form.

Is Daniel King To Good To Be In This League?cityrebel replied to Shale Searcher's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway Any rider that makes the PL stronger is alright by me. The better the rider, the better value for money for the paying punter. The EL started to deteriorate when the line ups were watered down.

What a superstar!. It made me quite tearful watching that.

I've no complaints about the format of this meeting because I ain't going. I stopped attending events like this in the mid 1980's, however I hope those who do go enjoy it, and it pulls in a decent crowd.
-
Maybe not iconic, but a decent stadium by today's standards. The viewing wasn't the best but it had cover all the way around. It also had good food outlets and a connecting railway station with a direct service to Central london. A very user friendly track that I still miss today.

Swindon V Lakeside Thur 9th Aprilcityrebel replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League I thought the meeting was ok last night, a few decent races and well run. The weather was absolutely balmy for Swindon in April!
