  1. If Len goes, will roger still need an experienced promoter alongside him to run speedway at Central Park next year.
  2. maybe a new promoter as well, terry Russell tried to open Central Park a few years ago.
  3. will uncle Len run both kent and rye in the NL.
  4. it might mean PL racing at Central Park next season.
  5. too right, the GRA have always charged top money to rent their stadiums. Wimbledon were paying 2 grand a meeting in 2005 for CL racing!
  6. I agree, the ever changing curfew together with the unpredictable track conditions certainly look like a plot to undermine the current speedway promotion.
  7. a scenario that I have got used to, in my forty plus years of supporting speedway in London and the south east.
  8. a few years ago licensed riders were advised by the SCB not to ride at lydd.
  9. It's a real shame that iwade is not an SCB licensed track anymore. I went to the vast majority of the CL matches in the 1990's and 2000's. Those meetings were some of the most enjoyable that i went to in that era.
  10. Last nights meeting at Leicester was an great advert for NL speedway. A hard fought match between two fully committed teams on an excellently prepared track. £12 to get in and all finished by 9.10. What more could you want!
  11. Although I'm biased, it must be Wimbledon. Luxury dining in the superb grandstand that was years ahead of its time. Sadly alll just a distant memory now.
  12. I agree Eddie, a very enjoyable evening. I must say a big well done to everybody at Leicester for putting on a great show at very short notice.
  13. Amateur flat track racing is not the same as amateur speedway. Does this mean that iwade is finished as a pukka speedway track.
  14. Does this mean that iwade is not a licensed SCB track anymore. If so, do they still plan to stage amateur speedway meetings like those occasionally held at lydd.
  15. To be fair to the old boy, Len was very hands on at the farcical NL fours at coventry yesterday. I do believe his input had a big bearing on the meeting going ahead, despite the best efforts of the Brandon track staff to get it called off!
  16. i agree, it's going to be a big financial gamble to reopen brum. I don't envy anybody trying to promote a sport that is in decline, with very little chance of recovery.
  17. I've made three visits to Brandon this season and the track has been shocking every time. At least it's consistent!
  18. If things get desperate, what about stoke. it was used by the heathens before in 1996.
  19. I saw Henriksson and stonehewer have a big punch up at a reading v workington match in 2002. Stoney was lucky not to get thrown out of the meeting. I can't believe it's so long ago.
  20. excellent, very smooth with some good overtaking moves on the inside. He did have a heavy fall in heat fifteen when chasing Ben Morley, but got up a little worse for wear!
  21. he is for real mike, in his own little world!
