Not brilliant for Buxton either.

Kent King vs Plymouth Gladiators.

Last night was a very slickly run affair. No parade and a short interval contributed to a 8pm finish, perfect! -
Speedway for me these days is more of a social thing. It gets me out of the house for a few hours and i still enjoy going. I can take all the guests and the silly rules because i don't care enough to worry about such things. I can fully understand why people get upset at the way things are going for the sport. The problem is, it's the promoters play thing, and they are not going to let anyone join in their game.

This event has a history of biting the dust. I'll reserve judgement until nearer the time!

It's looking dry on monday, hallelujah! -
That's not a bad thing.

Too right, i came away from Peterborough v Poole a few weeks ago thinking, this is why i went to speedway in the fist place. Unfortunately these occasions are few and far between.

He wouldn't know how to get there. He never turned up when lakeside rode on the island a couple of years ago.

The hovercraft still runs to Ryde.

I always get the fast cat foot passenger ferry from Portsmouth to Ryde. I haven't had a holiday over there since i was a kid.

I saw an excellent meeting on the island on tuesday Sid. Cook's comments are an insult to all of those riders that put on a show to entertain us.

I went to every meeting Lakeside rode at Rye. Every one was awful. Dreadful racing on a bald track. Terrible facilities, poor lighting (when they worked) and an assult course disguised as a car park. These are the main reasons the crowds were low. The whole package was atrocious. If speedway ever returns to Rye, the new promoters will need to do a far better job than the last mob.

What does Jon Cook know about speedway. He took his homeless Lakeside team into a dump of a stadium at Rye House and lost a fortune. I take anything he says with a pinch of salt.

It was freezing last saturday at Eastbourne, and again last night. A typical British summer.
-
Beating the dreadful weather was a bonus as well.

Wilson and Wood were both very quick last night, but ben's excellent use of the wide dirt line gave him the edge. It was an excellent hard fought match with both sides giving their all.
-
Good meeting tonight, close throughout. Ben Wilson was in a class of his own including a superb win off 15 metres. Luckily the island avoided the monsoons on the mainland.
-
I remember them turning up at Wimbledon short handed. Ivan was raging in the pits before the meeting. Fully justified.

Anything is possible in speedway!
