A number of PL clubs have facilities already in place to cover for an ambulance leaving the track and in particular both Berwick & Scunthorpe have purchased ambulances pre-season to provide cover in need: http://berwickbandits.co/article/bandits-boss-buys-ambulance http://scunthorpescorpions.co/?p=4801 Currently, the minimum Medical Requirements are one ambulance, driver and attendant, but this could be under review.

Leicester V Sheffield Ch 19/03 1pm
Reviresco replied to TMW's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
And to be fair to you Glyn, you flagged up the potential issue with the track at the new Belle Vue stadium on the Leicester 2016 Thread back on 05 March when you said - 'went by Manchesters new track they have so much to do in 12 days and the weather is giving them little chance. We had snow here in Manchester all day now its raining. Had no shale on two turns Just mud everywhere.' And on a different note, here is a great image of Nicolai Klindt's (over) celebratory wheelie after Heat 1 yesterday: https://www.instagram.com/p/BDK79gTnCqe/ -
Rye House Vs Plymouth Sat 19th March 7pm
Reviresco replied to barraider's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Was this due to the Heat format in the programme being the Elite League version when it should, of course, have been the Premier League format? Early days of course, but good to see Cam Heeps and Mr Lanham posting some decent scores and showing signs of a strong home partnership. -
Article 9.2 of the Speedway Regulations states that: 'A track is formed of 2 straights and 2 bends'. I believe the wording that has come into common usage derived from 'Turn 1, 2, 3 & 4' which was used in Australia where the original tracks (Claremont and the Sydney & Royal Melbourne Showgrounds) were so massive that there were a definite 4 turns in a speedway lap and this phrasing was continued when the sport was brought to the UK. 1 turn before and 1 turn after the apex of both bends 1 & 2. The terminology 'Turns 1,2,3 & 4' is also used in other oval sports such as at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and harness racing. It also assists when arranging to meet people at a track, to know which side of the apex they will be located and assists referees to make decisions on the non-existent regulation of 'first bend bunching'

Ipswich Vs Scunthorpe March 17th 7.30pm
Reviresco replied to ZODIAK's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
After last night, maybe CL should stage a meeting next week to enable the riders to have some more track time. Looking at the fixtures for next Thursday, Lewi Kerr would be missing, but it would give Sarjeant, Castagna and Ritchings some valuable track time. I don't know why Sarjeant wasn't on the Italy trip, but he's started the season stone cold compared to the rider who finished last season, not finishing ahead of an opponent in 8 heats. Maybe the new starting arrangements haven't helped? Hopefully tonight he'll show some spark of an upturn. I don't think having to attend Lakeside's P&P in the morning helped Lewi Kerr's preparation for the evening meeting and it will take him awhile to get used to the Jawa. Castagna on Jawas too. Darryl did everything expected and was probably very nervous in Heat 2. Settled and with a great attitude and approach will steadily accumulate his points. Will be interesting to see how he goes at Somerset tonight. With Morten's injury, I guess Danyon Hume may be seen in a Witches race-jacket sooner than expected. OK, early days, but with a competitive LC Group maybe there is something to be said for a Challenge match to start the season... -
Can't see that a separate Thread has been opened for tonight's Spring Classic meeting, but Morten Risager will be missing from the line-up after breaking a metatarsal in his right foot during Ipswich's opening night defeat at home to Scunthorpe last night.

Withdrew due to the flu. Practised at Foxhall yesterday.

Don't believe that is correct as, even if the Rider was 'owned' by a NL club, priority was by agreement and if no agreement could be reached then priority would rest with the higher priority meeting. Now that Zach is an asset of an EL club and is riding for a PL and a NL club, then PL fixtures will have priority. I don't believe that the Regulations provide any priority based on which club signs the Rider first.

Poole V Coventry Es First Leg 16/03/16
Reviresco replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Can you please advise where this is stated in the 2016 Regulations? The way I read it from the info I extracted is that it is the EDR with the highest Match Average that would move into the main body of the team, if their MA was higher than a 1-5 Rider after the pre-requisite qualifying period, and that it is not dependent on whether that is the Tier 1 or Tier 2. If an EDR does move into the 1-5 position, then the Rider displaced has to ride at #6 and the other EDR at #7. -

Only one EDR (the one with the highest MA) may move into a Team's top 1-5. The 6th & 7th Riders (by MA) must ride at #6 & #7. Only an EDR may ride at #7. -

Yes, as last year, a Guest or RR allowed for missing Number Ones. The change this year was to attempt to limit the number of Guests used by changing the facility to cover an absent Rider 4th or 5th in the Team's averages to RR only, whereas a Guest was permitted last year. -

I was surprised when I saw Sheffield's Press Day picture, as thought they would have team suits for 2016. And really not sure what Garrity was thinking about with his creation: https://twitter.com/Sam_masters33/status/708207466857832448 (Peterborough seem to have run into problems with their team suits too, either that or NBJ just forgot his.) Danny has tweeted that he encountered bike problems but had them sorted by the end of the night. Hopefully he'll get a better run at EoES today. Feel sorry for Lewi after all the hard work he has put in pre-season. If it is the flu, hopefully he hasn't passed it on to anyone else. Very early days and I can well remember a Witches rider scoring a big fat zero in his first meeting of the season away at Plough Lane and then going on and averaging 10 for most of the season. (By the way Craig Cook went last night, wonder how long it will be before Riders are switching to the new Remus exhaust.)

Location of the Wild Angels album cover picture had been discussed in a previous thread, with both Eastbourne and Rye House suggested: http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=5198&p=99825 FWIW, I think it's Arlington back straight circa 1969/70.

Thank you for your informative reply to my questions. So this standardised equipment will reduce costs, somehow, and top riders will no longer need ten plus race prepared bikes across Europe. Riders wage demands will be decreased, which will mean more money in the promoters' hands (partly funded by sponsorship) and reduced admission prices for spectators? As you suggest, a win win for everyone.

Depends on which one draws first and whether they both get killed/injured in the duel...
-
And this will control costs for who and how?
