Thinking about it, I remember an article in the "adver" some time after the death of our legendary promoter, Ted Nelson, suggesting that all details of the Goddard family arrangement with the land, went to the grave with him. It's all very odd, but that's how it was reported at the time.

I cannot remember the last time we won at Poole, except for a challenge match some time ago. Will this be the time? Can we at least get a point? It should be a good match either way.

As I understand it, the Goddard family bequeathed the land to the people of Swindon for sport and recreation,but I can't believe that became law.

Not one of our favourite tracks over the years, and I can see at least 2 riders that may struggle badly. A win would be nice, but I have not got a great deal of confidence about it, but you never know!

That was a disgusting thing to say, regardless of anything. I seem to recall someone getting a life ban on here for saying a similar thing, and that's exactly what Boon should be getting from Twitter. I don't suppose it will happen though, because it seems you can say anything you want to on Twitter.
