On Wednesday the Pirates take on the Monarchs in the 1st Leg of the playoffs semi final,hoping to build up a reasonable lead to take to Armadale on the Friday. The Pirates won convincingly in the Bsn semi final, winning by 30 points, but in the league it wasn't so easy coming out eventually with a 14 point win. The Monarchs have riders who can produce the goods at Wimborne Road like DanT and Kye T add in Paco and Sedgy and Mitchell Cluff who got 14 points in the league meeting It won't be be easy. Anything can happen on the night but Poole will need all 7 riders to be on it from heat one. Thoughts?

On Wednesdsy the Pirates welcome the Plymouth Gladiators to Wimborne Road for the final league match of the season, before the play offs. The Gladiators have former Pirate Danny King who always poses a threat add in Ben Barker who is almost always good value around Wimborne Road and is also a threat. I am hearing that Troy Batchelor is guesting for the injured Scott Nicholls. You just don't know what Troy will do at Poole he can be good but often is disappointing. I think that Plymouths weakness is at reserve, Anze Grmek and Ben Whalley will likely struggle and with Daniel Klima no longer at reserve, then I feel Poole should win this fairly comfortably. Joe Thompson is also hit and miss. Speedway can be unpredictable though so there is no room for complacency. Thoughts?

On Wednesday its the penultimate home meeting of the season in the championship for the Pirates as they take on the Oxford Cheetahs at Wimborne Road. The Piratess having drawn at Cowley two weeks ago just need to win to pick up the bonus point. Hopefully both teams will be at full strength or though it looks like Eric RIss will probably be absent with R/R in Operation. Thoughts?

There appears to be no interest in this meeting from the Bandits supporters,so here goes. It's a patched up Pirates team with 3 guests and R/R for Zach Cook. Last time at Shielfield it was in the knockout Cup and a 20 point thumping. Berwick are formidable at home this season and so it will be a tough task for Poole. Thoughts?

Hi Gavan, Please do us all a favour and stay off of any Poole threads. You're at times completely toxic and if you can't find something nice to say then keep you opinions to your self.

On Wednesday the Edinburgh Monarchs ate back in town to take on the Pirates. Last time around Poole hit 60 points to send the Monarchs crashing out of the Bsn semi final. This could be a lot closer this time with Dan Thompson who missed out last time through injury and Kye Thomson who both go well at Wimborne Road. Then you add in Paco Castagna Justin Segeman and Jonatan Grahn they have a useful top 5. It maybe down to the reserves , at this moment I don't know who is guesting for the Pirates. Jordy Loftus didn't go well on his last visit or Mitchell Cluff but this is where meetings can be won or lost. Thoughts?

So it's alright to criticise Pooles Wimborne Road circet but as soon as I mention Berwicks track then that's not ok. What exactly do you want Poole to do with the track as we don't own the stadium . To widen the track without knowing how many more seasons there are left at the stadium doesn't make sense as well as the cost.

I don't consider Shielfield Park much better. It can be and had been on my many visits gate and go and all over by the second bend.

Last time the teams met was in the knockout Cup and the Bandits were the winners despatching the Pirates over two legs including a 20 points win at home. Poole will need to be on top form with the Bandits having riders who can ride Wimborne Road very well. Nick Morris can be a handful and Jye Etheridge can be fast from the tapes. Peter Kildermand if available could also be a danger. The middle order for Berwick is where I think the Pirates could come out on top. Victor Pallovaara and Jordon Jenkins could possibly be the weak link. Jenkins was at reserve last time and is coming back from injury. Rede Battie hasn't ridden Wimborne Road before and Jack Smith isn't that great at Poole. The Pirates need to be fired up for this meeting and need to not only win, but by enough to be in contention for the bonus point when the teams meet at Shielfield Park on the 8th August. Thoughts.
