Last time at Shielfield it was in the knockout Cup and a 20 point thumping. Berwick are formidable at home this season and so it will be a tough task for Poole. Thoughts?

Hi Gavan, Please do us all a favour and stay off of any Poole threads. You're at times completely toxic and if you can't find something nice to say then keep you opinions to your self.

On Wednesday the Edinburgh Monarchs ate back in town to take on the Pirates. Last time around Poole hit 60 points to send the Monarchs crashing out of the Bsn semi final. This could be a lot closer this time with Dan Thompson who missed out last time through injury and Kye Thomson who both go well at Wimborne Road. Then you add in Paco Castagna Justin Segeman and Jonatan Grahn they have a useful top 5. It maybe down to the reserves , at this moment I don't know who is guesting for the Pirates. Jordy Loftus didn't go well on his last visit or Mitchell Cluff but this is where meetings can be won or lost. Thoughts?

So it's alright to criticise Pooles Wimborne Road circet but as soon as I mention Berwicks track then that's not ok. What exactly do you want Poole to do with the track as we don't own the stadium . To widen the track without knowing how many more seasons there are left at the stadium doesn't make sense as well as the cost.

I don't consider Shielfield Park much better. It can be and had been on my many visits gate and go and all over by the second bend.

On Wednesday the Pirates take on the Bandits for the second time this season,only this time league points are up for grabs. Last time the teams met was in the knockout Cup and the Bandits were the winners despatching the Pirates over two legs including a 20 points win at home. Poole will need to be on top form with the Bandits having riders who can ride Wimborne Road very well. Nick Morris can be a handful and Jye Etheridge can be fast from the tapes. Peter Kildermand if available could also be a danger. The middle order for Berwick is where I think the Pirates could come out on top. Victor Pallovaara and Jordon Jenkins could possibly be the weak link. Jenkins was at reserve last time and is coming back from injury. Rede Battie hasn't ridden Wimborne Road before and Jack Smith isn't that great at Poole. The Pirates need to be fired up for this meeting and need to not only win, but by enough to be in contention for the bonus point when the teams meet at Shielfield Park on the 8th August. Thoughts.

After a successful mini northern tour the Pirates take on the Comets at home on Wednesday after a 3 week break from a home meeting. After a 12 point win at Workington we should win this and also pick up the bonus point although you can't take anything for granted. Last year we struggled to win at home against them. Thoughts?

Enjoyed my 2nd visit to the GT Tyres arena on Saturday, its a brilliant set up with great racing. Commiserations to the Comets on the result but happy days for us few Pirates fans who made the trip up.

After a weeks break the Pirates return to action taking on the Berwick Bandits in the knockout Cup semi final. The Pirates will be without thier star no1 Richard Lawson who has a Danish league fixture as this meeting was not originally in the calendar. Chris Bomber Harris steps in for Richard. Berwick draft in another Glasgow tiger and ex bandit Leon Fint to cover for Peter Kildemand on Danish league duty. With the weather expected to be in the high 30's all day track prep will be extremely challenging. The Bandits have been on good form especially at home so this will be a tough 2 legged encounter. Thoughts?

On Wednesday the Pirates return to action taking on the Monarchs in the second leg of the Bsn semi-final. The Monarchs have a 2 point lead from the first leg at Armadale. They may have Dan Thompson back from his broken collar bone injury so should be at full strength. There could be some key battles between the heat leaders and Second strings and i expect the Pirates reserves to outscore Mitchell Cluff and Jordy Loftus although Cluff is riding better than earlier in the season. Kye Thomson is on form so could have a good meeting, it will depend on how well Justin Sedgeman and Dan T go on the night. Also how well Jonatan Grahn and Paco Castagna perform. Sticking my neck out, the Pirates to win and progress to the final but the Monarchs are no pushovers. Thoughts?

This coming Wednesday sees the Pirates take on the Tigers for league points. The Pirates will be without the unlucky Fraser Bowes after his nasty spill last week resulting in a punctured lung and rib and back bruising. Hopefully Cooper will be available to boost the reserves Glasgow of course have Chris Bomber Harris in thier ranks, who always rides Wimborne Road well,add on Kyle Howarth and Leon Flint and they have a solid top three. Will be interesting to see how well Kevin Juhl Pedersen and Mario Hausl go on thier first visit. Sam Hagon is up and down with his scoring and not sure if Freddy Hodder is fit.
