Nice 1. Cant get it outta my head at the moment & brings back so many memories for me!!

Watching loads of old footage at the mo to get me thru the long winter nights b4 the season starts in a month or so!! Come across a lot of videos from JSD who filmed at Coventry as have a lot of old British Finals, Overseas Finals etc Probably seems like a stupid question but i love the music that is played during the titles and wondered if its an actual song by a recognised artist/band or whether it was just something JSD made up themsevles to accompany their titles. Its an instrumental & cant get it outta my head after watching an old Cov meeting last nite from 97. Would love to hear from any1 in the know!!!

Hi Thinking of doing the Leszno GP & staying in Wroclaw but wondering what the trains are like between the 2 places?? Also, does anyone have a rough idea of the taxi fare between the 2 places as think its about an hour by car. Getting to Leszno should be no problem on the sat afternoon i'd imagine, but its more the getting back to Wroclaw from Leszno after the meeting that i think might be the problem?? Never been to Leszno before so are there a few bars there near the stadium or somewhere to decent to go if the trains dont go until later in the evening/early hours?? Any help would be much appreciated.

Anyone have a link for this meeting and can ya watch it now given that its over or was it just online live?? Wish i'd have checked last nite on here as i'd have got up earlier to watch it!!!

That would be fantastic if we could watch online altho presume not as we'd all have been watching this one!! Sounds like a cracking meeting & when ya look at all the Aussies not there like Crumpy, Adams, Sully, Watt etc then it shows the strength in depth that Australia currently have. As a matter of interest, what sizes are the 3 tracks over there that are hosting a round?? Always think of them as huge but in reality they probably arent!!!

If you find any footage from The Shay or Hyde Road then i'd love to get my hands on copies of this. My 2 fave tracks are sadly a distant memory but would be great to see some action from either of them again. Cheers, Jamie

So far i'm going to Cardiff, Gothenburg, Torun & Bydgoszcz but might try and sneak in Leszno as well. Subject to having enough hols left at work......and having the money of course!!! Really hope the track prep has got much better for 2010 altho i aint holding my breath!!

Some strong teams there in Leszno & Gorzow but gotta say Torun must be red hot favourites if thats their team. I know they blew it in the final but the same team with Andersen for Kosciecha & with Ward having good experience in the EL over here Gotta be their title to lose i'd say.

Great news that. Looking like a pretty solid looking line up there depending on who the other signing is. Glad KK is looking like he's signed up, done well for us this season in England & hope he stays with us although i fancy Poole may have something to say about that!! As its a squad system though, will the likes of Jedrzejewski & Buczkowski stay on as will need good back up in case anyone gets injured??

Seems like there's going to be quite a lot of rider movement this winter. Czestochowa seem like they might be losing a few - Nicki Pedersen & Lee Richardson being the 2 major ones. Rico says he's still owed money by them & is looking to go elsewhere. According to the net 2day its says Nicki is likely to go to Gorzow & not Leszno where he was tipped to go & Kolodziej is now going to Leszno. Sajfutdinov is out of contract so just hope Bydgoszcz offer him a good deal to stay or the rest of the league will be circling!!!!

Yeah, i dont think Bomber would be a good addition for Bydgoszcz. I'm sure Mateusz & the Polish boys will know more than me but dont think its one of his fave tracks?? He has certainly done nothing in the recent GP's there & cant remember him impressing for Ostrow there in the league meeting last yr either?? Kasprzak would be a great signing, been very impressed with him at BV this yr & hope he stays with us in the Elite League for next season. Think Emil should stay as a junior for as long as possible so he can get the extra rides as may as well use it to your advantage while you have the 3rd best rider in the world at reserve!!! Vicar - you mention knowing more in 2 weeks so do they have a conference like the Elite League do when they introduce new rule changes etc??

Yeah, your dream line up is a good one mate & i'd certainly pay to come over & watch that team!!! Suppose it makes sense to keep Emil as junior so he can take all the junior rides apart from heat 1. I'll have to keep an eye on here & on the Sportowefakty website to see who moves where & hopefully you get your dream line up or as close to it as possible!!

Hope so mate!! Said for last 2 seasons that i was gonna get over 4 a league meeting but havent done yet. Done all 3 GP's there from 08 & 09 but need to see some league racing on a decent track rather than the GP borefest!! Went to the Grudziadz meeting the day after the GP when the Torun meeting got called off & Henka Gustafsson was saying u were after his son Simon?? Cant see that as he would be an U21 so wouldnt get in the side of front of Emil?? Any rumoured targets over there mate?? Surely gotta get rid of Chrzanowski for a start & dont think i'd keep Buczkowski personally but depends who's available. Dobrucki flew there in the play offs & would be a good buy if available??

Nice one. Loads of flights to Krakow from every airport so could be worth a visit. Rumours that Emil might be on the move, possibly to the new Champs??

Does anyone know what happens if tomorrow is off as well, does the Torun meeting still go ahead as planned?? Got a ticket for it & am deciding whether to go or not No real point flying out to Torun if it its gonna be re-scheduled for next week if its off at ZG which looks a possibility again!! Doubt Torun will want to give up their choice of having the home meeting 2nd & winning (if as expected) the title in front of their own fans??

Got a few KM productions off ebay & they are excellent. Shame nobody seems to know the whereabouts of the owner as i'd love to get my hands on some other meetings from the 80's as somewhere there must be hundreds of old tapes lying around gathering dust!!! Barely any footage about from The Shay where i first watched my Speedway which is a huge shame as i would love to see some old meetings from there. I do have one production in b&w that has 5 Halifax meetings on from 80-83 but only one is from the Shay that was Halifax v Sheffield. The coverage isnt too good on that one but its the only real footage i have apart from a couple of other clips. If anyone stumbles across other Halifax coverage then let me know as i'd love to get copies. Got one meeting from themat the old Belle Vue from 82 thats decent enough but for some reason nobody seemed to bother filming at the Shay!!!!

I would like to apologise if anyone took my comments the wrong way as they were totally in jest, hence the smiley face after!! Of course i would never want a meeting rained off....i travel from Bradford to Belle Vue every monday & have very often made the 1hr 30 round trip to find the meeting off when i got there so i know how gutting it is when that happens. I'm glad some people realised it was only in jest so sorry Haza if you took it the wrong way...i'm travelling over 2 hrs to get to Birmingham airport for my 2 hr+ flight to Bydgoszcz so i definitely do not want this meeting rained off or it would be a bloody long trip for no Speedway at all!! I am seriously worried now though with the weather in Poland & always thought this GP was pretty late in the season. ZG is obviously having it bad but it is some way away from Bydgoszcz so i hope the weather is clearer ooop North so we can at least see some action!!

Anyone know the forecast for Bydgoszcz on saturday?? I know ZG is a long way from there but if the rain is sweeping the country is there a chance the GP will be a wash out as well?? Could set up the dream weekend but a week later perhaps!!

Think this thread now needs deleting as its put a jinx on the whole thing!!!!! Utterly gutted that the weekend has been ruined by the weather. As i've only paid for the flights i now hope that it p*sses it down on saturday & the Gp is off to be re-staged the saturday after & the great weekend will be back on again!! I'll begin my raindance immediately!!

F***ing hell, how utterly gutted am i now!! Couldnt wait for this weekend & thats just ruined everything big style....loads of us had tickets for Torun for sunday & doubt any of them will now go if its the weekend after as it means a separate trip & more money on flights. Completely devastated, bloody weather!!!

My GP ticket came thru post 2day so well chuffed that i have the 1st piece of the jigsaw altho the 2nd piece sounds like its gonna be harder to get hold of!! One thing tho, if ya cant get a ticket is it worth going to the stadium on the day to see if any are being sold outside?? Always ticket touts at Cardiff for the GP & the stadium is only ever half full so presume (hope!!) that there'll be touts at Torun when the stadium is guaranteed to be full?? If not at least its live on the telly i suppose altho not the same as being there!!

Or Gollob, remember the last round is in Bydgoszcz!!! Hope Crumpy is ok for 2moro. He has been best rider by far this season & it would be a massive blow if injury forced him to lose the title after working so hard to get in this position. As a neutral tho the Polish GP could be a classic if he struggles 2moro. Imagine if its a shoot out between him, Emil on his home Polish track & the master of Bydgoszcz himself Gollob!!! Could make up for all the dross we've watched all season so far & boy am i glad i've got a ticket for it!!!

Anyone heard anything else about tickets for the 2nd leg of the Final at Torun the day after the GP?? Couldnt make the GP challenge on friday at Coventry but one of my mates who was there heard a whisper that the tickets go on sale this tuesday so wondered if anyone else had heard the same?? Got my Bydgoszcz ticket so really need to get this meeting sorted as well for a cracking weekend in Poland to bring my season to a close!!

Was cheering Torun on big style there (even tho i'm a Bydgoszcz fan!!) cos i wanna visit the stadium the day after the GP like most others on here so was delighted with the 5-1 in heat 14!! About time Noddy came to the party cos he was poor b4 that. I'm gonna email Torun 2moro & see what the crack is with tickets & if i find owt out i'll post on here & trust others will. Looks an awesome stadium & the atmos should be the business for the final. ps. How awesome is Darcy Ward?? Taking Nicki P & Hancock from the back was pretty special altho his previous ride was actually better!!! Tai looking good in Poland as well & was good 2 watch a cracking meeting after last night's usual GP borefest. I know these 2 young kids are still learning & its very early in their career but i'd throw em both in the Gp's (Darcy & Tai that is) for next yr along with Holder if he doesnt qualify from Cov on fri nite. Look at Emil this yr...thought he'd do ok but nobody ever thought he'd do this well. Needs a complete overhaul does the system to bring some excitement back into it. Imagine next yr if we had Emil, Holder, Tai & Darcy mixing it with the older boys on tracks that havent been touched by Olsen. We might have our sport back as we want it at last!!!
