  1. What about Green & Black? We've not tried that yet... It may just be the innovation that save Speedway in the UK
  2. Who are the top 16 riders in the Polish League? You shouldn't really be looking too far away from those to find out the best rider in the world
  3. or the rights? I wonder what it'd be including that!
  4. How costly was running out of fuel in Malilla
  5. I've never noticed that before... you live and learn
  6. The ref had already ballsed up by calling it back for Stewart jumping the start when Lions were on a 5-1 going into the first bend... probably just seeing out justice
  7. My first visit to Redcar last night and what a nice tidy setup you've got up there. The track looked a bit like the Leicester track (with it's weird banking on the bends) but with better proportions, the racing wasn't much cop maybe that was down to the weather? 8 points the diff keeps the tie alive. One thing that puzzles me though, and it may have been gone through before on other threads... but why are you called Redcar, when you are quite clearly nearer to Middlesborough and would probably be better off (media wise) being called Middlesborough? Is it a rights issue of some sort?
  8. The same reason Chinese companies sponsor PL Football They do don't they... Mr Terry Russell
  9. Yes tonight's (Friday) is off at Redcar. Tomorrow the start time has been brought forward by 1 hour to 18:30 and at the moment it is still on
  10. It would be a sensible change if they could run a 15 heat match in under 90 minutes
  11. He was still found guilty... it was only the punishment that was changed
  12. What does it matter? If a load of Poles come along making it viable so that British fans can have a good day out watching the worlds top riders I'd call that a result
  13. Attendance could have been quite a lot less... If a lot less people had turned up... Well I never
  14. I thought it was interesting listening to Allen & Stead on the BT GP Coverage, particularly Stead who was voicing his opinion that riders should be more ambitious... At the risk of being controversial, wasn't it Stead that hid away in the lower leagues for a lot longer than he should have done taking the coin? Maybe more of a do as I say manager than do as I do. Anyway, I wish them all the best, GB will be nothing again until regular test matches are run, you can do all the skipping and ball catching you like, there's nothing like experience
  15. So tonight with the lack of any Speedway on the box I decided to watch the recording of the worst Speedway meeting in the history of the world... evs (Saturday's GP). And I was shocked, I was shocked to discover that actually in probably 75% of the races there was actually passing and/or close racing. I was not only shocked because I'd read on this thread that it had been particularly poor this year but also I attended the meeting myself and didn't really think it was anything special. Admittedly the race was never really for the lead and often between 2nd, 3rd or 4th but racing and passing there certainly was. I wonder why so many people (me included) are saying this was such a poor event (racing wise) this year, where clearly if you were to watch it again and actually take note of a close race or pass you'd see this wasn't really the case. What defines a good/close race? Maybe expectation was too high for Woffy to perform? All the Poles certainly seemed to be having a whale of a time. If you went to a League meeting and 75% of the races produced close racing and/or passing I think you'd be well satisfied... even for £18, with no atmosphere, standing on a grass bank watching mainly tractor racing interspersed with journeymen and amateur Speedway riders. And before coming back at me telling me I'm wrong I suggest you take the time to re-watch the event
  16. I've seen good racing at small tracks... I always wonder about the surface, it just doesn't seem to produce grip, I understand that the surface has been fine tuned over the years so as to stop it breaking up like it used to in the early years. Maybe it's time to look into a different tyre for the indoor track material... like F1 has different tyres for different tracks
  17. I parked on the street for free a little further on from the Cardiff City FC stadium (where I usually park, but couldn't this year due to them playing at home). A 20 minute walk instead of the usual 15
  18. A concert is a scripted, stage managed show. This was sport... perhaps you'd be better off with the WWE Wrestling
  19. Some people won't be happy unless it's held in their own backyard. There were a lot of people that travelled a lot further than the North of the country to this event. Even holding it at BV is no guarantee of great racing, remember the world cup event of a few years ago
  20. I'm the sandwich guy, cheese and onion from Aldi... When the last time a cheese and onion sandwich or a bottle of water killed anybody though I don't know... Can you make a bomb out of a cheese and onion sandwich and a bottle of water?
