You'd hope that Branson would dip into his $4 billion to help folk out wouldn't you? If he were to divide his fortune amongst his employees each one would receive $466,690... probably enough to see them through

I'm not condoning it but I do think it's understandable madness. The government has shown over the last 10 years that it does not care one jot about the vulnerable in society. A lot of people live hand to mouth week by week, so when they're told by the government to not worry and everything is going to be ok and if you're in isolation we'll make sure food gets to you, quite frankly they're not believed. I'm doing alright as I have a bit of money in the bank and always keep a full freezer and pantry anyway as I generally bulk buy when products are on offer. In one way the supermarket cartels encourage bulk buying by their wildly fluctuating pricing policy where by a product is always at a low offer price somewhere or other be it Tesco, Asda, Morrison's or Sainsbury's.

IainB replied to IainB's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I wonder who will ride... Some say Tungate has gone home, I think Hans "N" Andersen and Ostergaard are stuck in Denmark. Don't know about KL Hartel, Jorgensen, Proctor and Riss? -
Will it happen?

I was mocking you.

I take anybody dying from a lung disease seriously. I watched my dad die from IPF 2 years ago and wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy
-
If you look back through the thread you'll see I took it deadly seriously from day 1 advising the screensport bloke to watch the BBC documentary... All I've seen you do is bang on about the blummin flu!
-
I don't understand what you're saying... Are you saying you're not going to take it seriously until the death toll passes that of the flu?
-
You should stop reading the Daily Express and watching ITV then
-
Somebody better tell every government around the world this then, they'll then realise the error of their ways

Quite right, I must have sneezed 3 or 4 times today, dust up nose etc. I don't have the virus (that I know of)... Humans cough and sneeze it's a fact. You even only have to look at somebody talking in sunlight to see how much spit comes out of people's mouths... And that's before you even start to think about hands on surfaces etc. ... And it'll be hay fever season soon

No wonder it's out of control with attitudes like this... Some people just don't get it

Think of the media coverage speedway would get if it were the only sport running... This could be the saving of our sport

Scotland to ban gatherings of more than 500 from Monday

Have you been to the UAE? NZ, the most friendly I've ever encountered

Perhaps we can get Zmarzlik et al riding in the British League then... every cloud...
-
Even more reason for people to get out and support the Ben fund meeting this weekend... Maybe the last speedway seen for a while?

R/R for 2 weeks

I wonder if the PL will be contractually obliged to by Eurosport
-
Or they null and void the league just when they're on the brink

Having read his book it comes across as it actually means quite a lot to him... "him" being the important word, it reads as though he doesn't care who he wins it with as long as he wins it.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/amp/51777154 I wonder if Rob Godfrey has been invited?

I've just finished Tai's book "Raw Speed"... or as it should have been called "It Is What It Is". And while it was very interesting to read his take on things (I still can't make head nor tail of why he punched Ben Barker, other than they were both drunk) I have to say that I don't think I've ever read a more poorly written "Autobiography" and I've read a few. At least a third of the book must be pure filler as it goes off at tangents giving irrelevant and needless details and giving you history of who people are and and venues etc. Which quite clearly haven't been penned (or even thought of, I suspect) by Tai. And if I had a pound for every time I read the sentence "As I've mentioned before"... Take away all of the filler and I don't think it's anything more than an extended Speedway Star interview. 6/10

Suppose so... The Daily Express & ITV wouldn't be my first port of call for facts though
