  1. It's almost impossible to get an unobstructed view at Leicester unless you're on the very front row of the perimeter, which is very poor for a bespoke speedway stadium. Other than that it's a nice place to go. The track seems to be better with the better quality riders on it
  2. I think the racing in the EL has been abysmal this year, as a matter of interest, how long have you been going to Brandon?
  3. This is not league specific, the problem runs throughout the whole sport, all 3 leagues and individual competitions Doesn't matter what's gone now, they should have done. It's the future we should be thinking about, or there might not be one Because he's the man in post So let's start now OK let's give up It's personal because he's the man in post
  4. Alex Harkess, when are you going to step up and do something for British Speedway and step down! As chairman of British Speedway you have presided over the continual decline of the sport over the last number of years to the point last night where we had a Wolverhampton team riding at Swindon consisting of no Wolverhampton riders and a 5 man Coventry team tracked consisting of 3 Coventry riders! We are now at a point in this country where league racing is unsustainable, there are just not enough riders available to run 3 leagues with riders doubling and in some cases tripling up with countless fixture clashes. We have the new Fast Track system in place, which at the start of the year seemed like a great idea to bring on the youth of British Speedway, but as the season as gone on this has turned into a farce, with the inevitable injuries that have occurred you now have 27 year old veterans on this list. The season started off on a farcical note with the ELRC and the subsequent promise of inquiries etc, but to my knowledge there was no punishment dished out, the list goes on, far too many for me to list here but just browsing through the forums on the pages and pages of things that should just not be happening in a so called professionally run sport. And what do we ever hear from Alex Harkess? What is his strategy for the improvement of the sport? Is there a plan? Where is the leadership? When is somebody going to take some responsibility?
  5. This was never going to finish with both teams operating R/R in both matches
  6. They should do what they do in the GP and have a clock on the centre showing how much of the 2 mins is left, if a rider isn't ready, he's out. It works brilliantly in the GP, a few riders got excluded once and it never happened again. Generally speedway is run in such a slap dash way that (perhaps it should be renamed to this, slapdashway) that the 2 mins can easily end up being 3, yes I have timed it in the past (anorak!)
  7. I don't believe this is the case for one moment, surely every right thinking speedway fan wants this to happen. It's just that the tease of this thread was for some concrete news and quite frankly it's no further forward from happening today as it was at the beginning of the week/month/year.
  8. I wish the Leicester track had been based on Blackbird Road, never mind. Good luck though
  9. And while we're being all negative, I don't know why Gordon/Morton keep going off to have a look at Torun, if the artist impression is anything to go by they'd be better off going to the East of England Showground
  10. I blame the fans, yes those of you that attended should know that the Coventry track becomes unrideable after even a little bit of rain, this is why I stay away if there's been any rain on it on the afternoon of a meeting, it's been the same for the last 10 or 15 years. This kind of thing usually happens at least once a season and people still go and are still surprised. I'm afraid you only have yourself to blame
  11. Congrats to Tai. I've been a critic of his in the past before this season, but he really has turned his career around and fulfilled his potential and is now a model professional. Hopefully he can be an inspiration to some of our other youngsters!
  12. Not even that anymore judging by the coverage last night's display has got on the BSPA website... perhaps it was a bad dream and hasn't really happened
  13. I think he's doing what the BSPA want him to do, pick a team, turn up, say the right things, lose, see you next year... not rock the boat with plans on how to start to get us out of the international mess we're now in. Rob Lyon tried to start to do something about it a few years ago and look where that got him
  14. Anybody know if the roadworks around Wisbech are complete?
