Sheffield Vs Scunthorpe - 14/9/16
Tony The Tiger replied to LagutaRacingFan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I've been going almost weekly for 38 years now and I have some very fond memories of racing at Owlerton. I can honestly say that not one race from this season has stuck in my memory. Last night was the icing on the cake...I will be seriously considering spending my £20 weekly on enjoying myself instead of being bored to tears every Thursday (or Wednesday) night -

Sheffield V Glasgow 04/06
Tony The Tiger replied to Bostonian's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
How long will it be before Kozza Smith seriously injures someone. He's done it before and is obviously a disaster waiting to happen. 'All the gear, no idea' seems to spring to mind! -
Sheffield V Rye House 02/07
Tony The Tiger replied to Marcelle's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I think they've got Boxall and Jason Garrity mixed up! If you're coming over, don't have any expectations, that way you won't be disasppointed! -
Something Got To Change (sheffield)
Tony The Tiger replied to OILYRAG's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
IMO we shouldn't have got rid of Roynon in the first place. As for who, the obvious shout would be Ben Wilson for possibly a reserve berth. Saying that, Nielsen seems to be slightly improving and it's Bates who's a cause for concern now. Other than that, I'd get rid of Proctor possibly for another double-downer! Robert Lambert maybe needs PL racing to improve at EL level?? -
Adam Roynon Dropped By Sheffield
Tony The Tiger replied to StevePark's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Clueless...absolutely clueless. Ok, Adam isn't doing as well as we'd all hoped but this just takes the biscuit. I sincerely hope Adam Roynon gets fixed up somewhere very quickly and, for his own sake, that Ty Proctor hits the ground running as there's going to be quite a few Sheffield supporters not happy by this move. -
Glad it wasn't only me who remembered him saying that!

Rumour on Biker FM's speedway show is that Joe Screen will be signing. If anyone saw his tweet the other day then I think this could be true?

So Where Now Nick Morris
Tony The Tiger replied to spin king's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
How about Morris signing for Scunthorpe, thus allowing Sheffield to sign Ashley Birks? I know who I'd rather see blasting round Owlerton.... -
So you'd rather have a foreign rider who can only be described as mediocre at best in your team? I'd rather join the Oilyrag bandwagon...BRING BACK BEN WILSON!!
-
I was on the spanners that night and I can't remember being so incensed at a speedway meeting, in my opinion inexperience had nothing to do with it, he 'turned right' on Birko and that's something that can't be excused. The more I think about this, the more I'm thinking that if we sign him, I would rather go to Scunny on a Friday than help pay his wages!

If Gathercole signs for Sheffield, I'll have to give serious thought as to whether I'll be wasting £15 of my hard earned money every week. I remember the move he pulled on James Birkinshaw quite a few years ago which resulted in a broken hand for James. Gathercole is a rider whom I'd lose no sleep if I never saw him ride in this country again. An average, dirty rider who's team place would be better filled by ANY Brit out there!
-
That's got to be an assessed 3.00 as my non existent 3 legged dog would beat Koppe!
-
Well if we do run next year there'll be no Ricky Wells as he's been confirmed as a Workington rider. Not sure if I'm sad or ecstatic about this....
