Elitserien 2013, Round 9, Tuesday July 2nd
manchesterpaul replied to Ghostwalker's topic in International World of Speedway
Dackarna's attendance figures are falling at quite a rate. Fortunately they have set a break even budget figure at 1,800. "Despite the low attendance figures so do not club boss to some drastic measures need to be done in the current situation. - No, no! There is no panic, but surely start alarm bells to ring. I think this will correct itself during the season and we have only budgeted for a cut on 1 800. In recent years, we have always budgeted between 1,700 to 1,900 paying spectators." Dackarnas attendance average the last ten years: 2003: 4,128 2004: 4,415 2005: 4,431 2006: 4,242 2007: 5,341 2008: 4,302 2009: 4,255 2010: 3,877 2011: 3,968 2012: 3,930 2013: 2,471 (after 3 of 7 home games) This has risen to 2,823 after five matches. (Playoff matches are not included) -

Haven't got the link off hand but i think it's the main svemo site has attendance averages etc. I referred and linked to it recently elsewhere. UPDATE http://www.aktuellsp...e=1&season=2013 Recent average and total attendances Ikaros Smederna 3,337 16,686 Indianerna ~~~~ 3,314 13,256 Dackarna ~~~~~~ 2,823 14,117 Elit Vetlanda ~ 2,273 9,093 Piraterna ~~~~~ 2,269 6,807 Västervik ~~~~~ 2,182 6,547 Hammarby ~~~~~~ 1,987 7,947 Vargarna ~~~~~~ 1,865 7,458 Total ~~~~~~~~~ 2,506 81,911 These average attendances may likely rise once we finally get a steady summer. Also, the battle for play-off places and the play-off themselves should more than counter teams who have nothing to fight for. Most teams are usually in with a chance of accessing the play-offs until late in the season. -

Cool a much more enjoyable match race than the old 'Golden Helmet' bores we used to have in the UK when i was a very little nipper in the 70's. I do have the Swedish Regulations downloaded so apologies for being lazy and not checking it for myself lol. -

Question to Ghostwalker, TV commentator wondering too, what happens if aggregate scores level? half a bonus point or none for each team? I'm presuming the latter? -

Getting an inkling i had a very minor 'tiff' recently with yourself in another thread......not sure if it may have been someone else so apologies if it wasn't...but again i'll never hesitate to commend any sports commentator on their job. It is infinitely more difficult than appears. I second your observations on Dave Goddard as he seems to have absolutely ZERO communication with the providers of the feed from Sweden. Premier Sports must surely pay a reasonable fee yet apparently they get no updates from the track regards rider changes etc. Whilst i dislike certain commentators for their style i know i certainly couldn't cope with people talking into my ear (and having to take full note and usually acting upon what they are saying) whilst commentating on the race and taking into account changing scenarios and state of the meeting etc. So full credit where it's due to all commentators. Finally, whilst on my soapbox, fans often complain about repetitive phrases used, well i'd suggest record yourself over a meeting or two and see how quickly and how many phrases you'd end up using lol. -

One of the reasons i add in brackets to the racecards the location of Swedish teams is because i was suspecting that some of the words prefacing the teams are either nicknames or sponsor names. It would be good if Ghostwalker, when time permits, could add to his page one in the Swedish section the translation or defining of nicknames/sponsors. Aha! i had it right regards Smederna (sponsor and nickname part too), Indianerna (nickname), Vetlanda (sponsor) and Hammarby. Having said that i was unsure at the start of this season. -

Oh wow..i just Google translated tyre from English to Swedish and it came up with 'däck' so thought rmc was 100% correct. Dackarna now my favourite team if they 'rebels' and a motley crew of Anarchists etc lol UPDATE: OMG! maybe not, Wiki says "Dacke was executed, posthumously quartered, and his limbs were sent for public display in larger communities that had supported him during the rebellion. Gustav Vasa ordered the annihilation of Dacke's entire family, but showed some leniency against those who had given themselves up. Thus, the unity of the realm was restored." Come on Piraterna! -

R&R very much agree with that, it has to be very confusing for anyone new tuning in and it must often take a while before it sinks in that "hang on" i'm watching four different teams. Many a time i've dashed in from the kitchen or loo thinking the interval is over too lol. -

Mention of the 'World Champion' Chris Holder lining up at the tapes gets me to wonder how the 'old' world champions such as Ivan Mauger and Ove Fundin would have fared riding in several leagues during a season? What got me pondering is that i remember that World Champions in the old days seemed to rarely get beat in (UK) league racing during a season (or did they?). Yet i've had cause to comment several times over the last few seasons how the top GP riders, including the champion, can have poor scores on several occasions in the various leagues. -

I didn't get to read it but saw an article headlined the other day (or today) that he reckons he is better than ever since his enforced lay-off. What a battle for the SGP we would have had if he had rode all season. Some exhilarating swoops taking place so far and more than one racing line as Dave Goddard expertly pointed out where they are crossing over too. -

Yayyyyyyyyyyy Houston we are live! Do we start from heat one? Tractors doing lap after lap right now but guess Swedish broadcasting partner can't be bothered to feed through to Premier Sports the previous four heats (or worse still PS not ask for them to do so?). We'd have time to see them, we've just seen about twenty heats from other meetings in a continuous blast. Oh well at least we got racing now. OK i slightly less grumpy racing looking promising lol. That was a good race too so manly sulk turned to smile, head no longer bent with glowering gaze towards floor, arms now unfolded and no longer stomping feet on floor whilst bawling i wanna see some live racing. -

I've not used sopcast for a couple of years and it's only installed on my old computer. First loading of Sopcast had a treacherous notice on the lines of "you need to load some video something or other" yeah right not 'arf NOT lol. -

Might need a link myself Premier Sports starting off with highlights from previous meeting! Has Dave Goddard missed his flight? (he's usually said hello by now too) Is the meeting delayed? Are there Danish Kanalsport technical difficulties? -

Initial published line-ups; HOLSTED Nicki PEDERSEN Rasmus JENSEN Patrick HOUGAARD Pontus ASPGREN Brady KURTZ SLANGERUP Leon D. MADSEN *Mikkel MICHELSEN/Kenneth K. HANSEN *Kenneth K. HANSEN/Mikkel MICHELSEN Linus EKLOF Kenni NISSEN *The league's official site and a couple of others have a different line-up to the Holsted site. The league site is usually the one that is wrong but who knows! I'll hang on until the afternoon of the meeting before going with the line-up published in multiple places, but strongly advise not to download the racecard until as late as possible. The fact that one line-up is on several sites may only be an indication that they take it from the same source, yep, the official site which is usually the last to update, if it does at all! I'll be taking a screenshot when the tv broadcast begins and would then alter accordingly if need be. This is a crucial match in the battle for the top four. Holsted have juggled their team, not for injury reasons, but to try and get their most favourable line-up. These two usually battle at the top but this season are striving to get into the third and fourth last places for the 'Super Finals'. Holsted can gather three points with a win as they won the first match 44-42 in a thrilling comeback with a final heat win.
