  2. A stranger comment lol to not take on board my clarification that i had done a cursory glance and indeed Klingberg was another example of a 'possibly' unlikely winner, also i was asking if he/they were rogue winners for whatever reasons. So not too strange after all? I noticed only the one win of Olle Nygren but knowing he rode for many years, i thought that maybe it's very much an incomplete list in that it only begins in 1949? or he was already past his peak, then again maybe he's not quite that old lol. Your explanation is probably the reason why they were able to win their titles. However. Danno and Klingbergs's wins came amidst Tony Rickardsson's reign which is why they stand out more, although i did suspect and asked as to whether the top riders failed to compete when they won, and 'Dave the mic' actually proved that thought to be true with regards Danno's triumph at least.
  3. It's been doing it for quite a little while now, it's also why you often see posts duplicated as people repress the post button lol, done it many a time myself lol. You can always check if it's the site or your internet connection by quickly opening up any site in another tab. So make sure you blame others before blaming yourself lol. By the way, anyone know of the next batch of tv fixtures or do i have to go looking for them myself! I want to fill my diary in. I only I got Wednesday Holsted-Slangerup from their tv guide at the moment.
  4. Hopefully in a world where money counts above all there would not be an exception made. Incidentally, is there room for Costa Mesa to ever be converted into a full-sized track? Or is it's uniqueness something sacrosanct and the promoters or fans would not entertain the idea of it being changed? As for the other weekly tracks why are they built so small? America isn't exactly short of land mass and surely in a lot of cases there would be no restriction to having built a large track from scratch?
  5. Sorry if i've not made that clear, i'm not saying at all that Nermark won't develop, indeed i was indicating it more likely he will become a very good rider. Yeah i just saw Klingberg later on so include him too lol. I wasn't around when Andy Smith was winning titles so don't know the quality level of the other British riders at the time. However from the list of Swedish champions i see the quality of their riders. As to your other points and others, i was actually 'asking' IF he was a duff winner. I further asked if he had cut it year after year with high averages in the top league, did he? I also asked how he won on the night was it a five gates on a wet slick track? Or a fighting racing performance beating riders in close battles etc. whom he had also beat many times during the season? The weakness of the old one-off World Finals was a rider who totally dominated the sport in any given year and rarely being beat, could not win the title because of a single fall or engine failure on one night. One-off track and/or weather conditions levelling the 'playing field' to discard season long superior skill and utter supremacy. Hmmm was he though? I think other factors helped but that's history now i guess. Regards the rest of your points, no problem and i reiterate i did actually ask 'if' he was a duff winner.
  6. Surely to God they wouldn't ever consider staging a GP on the freak toy tracks such as Costa Mesa*? It would be like holding the FA Cup final on a five-a-side pitch or the Super Bowl on an Arena Football field. *(no offence to the decades of enjoyment CM has provided but it's not speedway, and no i'm not claiming my own home track Belle Vue is either lol)
  7. Welllll yours certainly wasn't there when i was posting mine nah nah na na na lol......but seeing as your's was an edit and my post was was in the process of 'posting' for about eight minutes or more that's probably the reason lol.
  8. Looks to be a light break in the sky behind the clouds. I glanced at the radar earlier and there are some very nasty highlighted spots on the radar. I forgot which way the wind was blowing and the speed etc. anyways i not a meteorologist so you can ask Michael Fish. Ok i off to check the King's Lynn forecast for the Sky TV match, albeit a meeting without Hans Andersen now! Cool that match looks set fair.
  9. Agree totally regards riders fearing for their safety, most of us would be fearful of sliding a bike in perfect conditions with nobody else around us shoulder to shoulder. I guess the response from modern day riders is that the power set up of the bike etc is changed, or at least that's what we hear as to why we have slick tracks everywhere, a modern day rider hasn't the skill to control such raw power hitting a grippy track. Wasn't even born at the time but when i see film of the cinder riders in the 30's i get the idea they'd ride anything without batting an eyelid.
  10. Ok stay safe mate. Lucky i make a point of using my own eyes now with Kanalsport. The track seems smooth, doesn't it? and no rain driving into goggles right now so why are the riders gathering at trackside in a mood of mutiny! And out comes the tractor early, guess it's not smooth as can be.
  11. That was a sloppy start and sloppy restart to the meeting lol.
  12. Not had time to check the weather forecast but wow that looks a heavy laden sky.
  13. Lol, it's only one size up from the regular font i think. I'll check. The font size messes up quite often when you post these days, usually going very small. I don't think three red words will kill anyone and the blue is because it's a link and not my doing, or at least i don't think it is. i just copied and pasted a previous link and changed the date and teams as it's quicker than styling, maybe that's why it's gone uber size??? By the way not seen any team changes listed yet from the ones i put on the card, so hopefully it's all correct. Has she got knocked out or not playing through injury? Or has she been singing unholy songs in church and now sharing a Russian jail cell with the group Pussy Riot?
  14. OUCHEEEEEE IT'S THERE NOW. Was there all the time but forgot to uncover it on the links page. I just got home this minute and thought on to check here, hope the teams haven't changed not had a chance to check, will do that in a few mins too. 15. Sorry you've lost me totally on this. He won his title at a time when i had dropped out of speedway so i didn't know of his involvement in the SGP, BUT my whole point is what else did he ever win? On a personal level i have never ever heard of his name so was inquiring as even though i didn't follow speedway for over a decade i still have heard SINCE of pretty much ALL the other riders. I'm genuinely very confused at you showing the detailed result of a final that has Tony Rickardsson not having competed??? Which makes me ask again where was, for example, Tony Rickardsson a previous winner and winner the following two seasons, where was Danno in those years?, never ever in the top three before or after. What was behind his one-off win, was he a gater and on the night it an ultra slick track or what?. How can you compare his few SGP podium places with the heap of title wins and top threes by Rickardsson and Pedersen by, albeit not seriously, referring to the latter two as by inference poor riders. I did question whether Nermark will turn out to be a second DUFF/FREAK winner of the title. Do you have say a list of Danno's averages in the world's top leagues year-on-year and are they at a comparable level to the other top riders and winners of the Swedish title? Again i point out i was out of speedway for over a decade so i need to ask, did he lead the world's top clubs to league championships at the top of the clubs averages etc? I swear not being argumentative just genuine questions and seeking of stats to correct that my initial assumption that he was a one-off on the night (fluke-ish) winner . Which is why the SGP SERIES comes up with a true best rider in the world over a season and not someone who is lucky to take advantage of a single engine failure etc. of an opponent on a night over five races, whilst having been outclassed all season long.
  16. Ok let's hope we get better tomorrow in Denmark, although tonight was still nice to watch. Ha Ha
  17. Ok after many years the world recently finally got the answer as to why are the Bees are disappearing, but we do seem to have a new puzzle....this resurrection and playing of the Birdie Song, the latter far more disturbing to mankind.
  18. Will be hoping to get some 'racing' on our next visit to Smederna, hope this is one-off for the track?
  19. Lol nah accidental i'm sure, they don't seem to have enough emotion tonight to muster up anything. Mind you at the end of the day the 'promoted' Smederna are coping well in the higher league so far this season.
  20. I had to Google who she was! Alas,Tennis is one of the good sports i can't fit in to my viewing hours. But i see she had a very good result recently, maybe Chris Harris will follow suit and beat Emil Sayfutdinov if they meet in a race this season. Not sure where, it certainly won't be the SGP or Euro championship.
  21. I occasionally get accused of being easily pleased, but i must admit i don't recall ANY great racing tonight. There was a single heat when the four riders were within proximity to each other but nothing approaching the 'great' racing we have had in recent weeks.
  22. Holder scored more points from gate four in that race than all the other riders together in the previous 7 races. Anyway enough of the Statto stuff lol lol.
  23. Would have been bad for Smederna if Engman had won that, there is the top spot at stake tonight don't they know lol. Who's sabotaged gate 4!
