  1. Well said deanr1 and thanks jollyrodger after all the heart acre ashley has had at these meeting he finally wins one and you turn the posting into a slagging match instead of a positive thread as been said before hope your dads proud.
  2. The winner was Ashley Morris (my stepson) and it was great to win one at last after the first 2 rounds were he was one if not the best riders, he was over the moon to come first out of 5
  3. Great posting great central you hit the nail on its head but would like to say that dan quit due to personal reasons and nothing else but do agree we shouldn t be losing lads, jolly rodger I hope your postings aren t a dig at young adam cause at least he turned up and also lasted the distance and I think if you had been in a crash like the ones that had to pull out where you d do the same, I will say that it was a good track and the meeting run smoothly and I would like to thank weymouth in fact all the tracks that are putting rounds on this year.
  4. Birmingham, scunny, coventry, rye house and kings lynn all have academy teams but apart from when they ride each other there isn t any like birmingham were supose to race workington and newcastle after pl meetings but the home teams cancelled due to having no teams.
  5. Glad some one posted results as ashley wanted to know his race time Thanks good to see people taking notice of academy league
  6. Well i asked graham Reeve last week and those are the numbers he stated i do know there are some more to confirm their place but some are only considering it for various reasons, I know some think they have no chance and can t really afford it and another who would be one of the favourites who has yet to enter due to how its been run and the standard of rider. I know that its making us think again because the way our calander looks the u15 just add to the already busy summer and if there s only 5-7 riders and then the double head issues i stated before then its not worth the time or money.
  7. Yes and why are there only 5 500cc and 8 250cc ??? cause kids aren t given anything of any quality. I was taking to a danish rider the other day who said there are about 250 13-14 year olds racing in denmark now i know we ll never reach those kind off numbers but we have to improve the facilites and meeting for u15 or there won t be british rider s in 10 years time.
  8. I think its total rubbish having nl match first, for one would the other british championships play second fiddle to league match also if any competitors are in both meetings it gives them an advantage (I know people will say i m been petty but would all the gp riders complain if nikki had 16 laps practise before a gp) because all riders go to the tapes in first race thinking have i got right set up, how will the track ride, but they won t cause they have had practice.
  9. Well at last we have had invite to u15 7 rounds which are 2nd may scunny 23rd may newport 13th june weymouth 25th july buxton 13th august i.o.w 22nd august kings lynn 19th september northside training track was told so far 5 500cc have said yes and 8 250cc confirmed before people ask i ve had all this confirmed by graham reeve
  10. Well only a month to the first round and not one rider has been asked if he wants to do the rounds, but its the bspa so don t know why i expected any different. I am struggling to see who is eligable to ride and I know that some of the ones that are able to ride have booked to ride elsewhere on may 2nd when scunny round is on. Do the bspa treat the u21 or the main title like this answer NO, do they think lads just hang round waiting for them to call answer. Just because there under 15 doesn t mean they don t fill there diary s with as many meeting as possible. Hope bspa sort it soon or they might struggle for riders.
  11. Oh how i ve missed morganbike and his posts on here, I would like to say that this whole tread is speculation as no riders have had invite letters or anything yet but it does sound like it ll be a good series and i know there s at least 4-6 lads capable of winning it.
  12. Good to see they might get the rounds sorted before the season starts and hopefully they tell everyone about it, parsloes1928 why will marc owen be in demand he will only be able to ride for one team like all the others that are lucky enough to do the round and nl comittments, also i think most nl teams are hoping to get fixtures done in the sumer and not have loads of meetings in september. But i do agree he ll be one of the ones challenging for the title this and good luck to him and all that complete.
  13. phil they can t but they can comitt verbal a gentlemen agreement it benifits club and rider and i know that ashley is very happy to keep his word come his 15th birthday.
  14. to stressed i would like to point out that my lads ashley morris was one of the no shows this been due to work comitments you know the place i get the money from to pay for speedway which we travel far and wide to to do cause unlike the foriegn riders teams don t helps us we have to do it all ourselves so think you shouldn t pass jugment til you know the facts we let graham reve know in time also you say dave should replace if possible who s dave cause i didn t see him at stoke or any other training sessions or junior meetings or does he just turn up to the close one s.
  15. dandy only know one that didn t come due to cost yes it would be nice to get travel but we know what the deal is before entering stoney=legend jason has been excellent at all the tracks i ve seen him at as is one for the future trainer can you explain why you have to pay 250 for licence when its the scb that asked you to do it and i know that all the other tracks have been given money by scb to help with cost ?? morganbike good to see dan getting confrence rides, it does make me smile when you stick up for the lack off money when your the first to ask how much when its acadmey etc and don t worry yourself about countershaft i called a real mate and he had one cheaper and it was neb and he stuck to the deal
  16. morganbike if you read your program from stoke it says if 8 riders or under they will have semi s and final to make the heats up, why didn t the champ turn up
  17. well went to see doctor on thursday and the great news is that after just 3.5 weeks they have taken plaster of and discharged him, so ash will be back very soon. Thanks to everyone for all there get well messages. ASH & NEIL
  18. good to see the match went well this what this country needs to do to bring the our yougsters on, but as usual a australian was used nothing against darcy but this was for our kids. Anyway well done lads and well done ipswich for putting it on.
  19. Ashley was involved in a heavy crash at coventry last night and only know after visiting stafford hospital has the extent of the injuries been confirmed he has broken his left middle finger and knuckle, his left index finger in 2 places, left thumb in 2 places and ligament damage also chipped his left hip bone he has been put in plaster for 6 weeks now (not a good way to start his 6 weeks off school). He is feeling a bit down but is determind to get bask asap. Ash would like to thank all at coventry for there help and thanks to everyone that has called to wish him well.Cheers See you all soon Ash and Neil
  20. Your right there isn t but some of that is down to them not getting the help or sponsors or even team places i known that when english lad gets into a team he will get the least money and struggle for sponsors but a team bring a foreigner and he gets a bit better money , sponsors are found a place to live a van if needed and he will get a guarantee if he scores or not, so the whole thing is set up for them to do well plus if they have a bad spell they go home and practise for a week so maybe which we can t. Been up against it at the start puts them off and they just think well i can have a good life earn a bit and enjoy it, its better than working 9 to 5 like there mates. Just my thoroughts
  21. ok fair point but how many times have you seen scott, lee or chris pissed i have been around speedway as rider and merchanic for many years and not seen them drunk others who probably aren t interested in riding in gps or wtc but thats there choice i think
  22. How do you know it s rare and how has he made it so its ok?????
  23. How about chris louis at least he can talk to riders and understand there problems and may know how to sort them, i know he says he has to much on but he s at all the meeting with sky, he would also use joke better than lynch because he would have known that scott struggled in second ride and that gate 1 was not working that well.
  24. so on the friday night after practise at cardiff there were no aussies on yankies getting drunk i heard a mr holder was all over the shop and yes i think it is wrong that any rider gets drunk in a city full of fans but you can tell me that f1 or moto gp stars don t drink cause i think they do lust behind closed doors. But they will live and learn like mr bridger he was a model rider on saturday at cardiff.
  25. I would like to add that there is a crop of good kids (12 to 15 years old) riding at the moment most of them don t have there names on vans or web site and the ones with nice suits and covers have had them sponsored cause all there money goes on travel, bikes and training costs but if they don t get track time and advice then how many will make it. Some fans seem to think its easy but truth is you have a lot of travelling to do then theres the maintance of bikes plus dads need to work i know that i have spent at least ten thousand pounds this year on my lads racing and he one of the lucky ones that has 6 sponsors so i would hate to think how much the dads who can t find sponsors cope. Jim Lynch says its not all doom and gloom and he many be right but if somethin s not done soon they it will be and we might even struggle to make the wtc all together.
