Pretty poor show to have to come on here to find the line ups. I looked on the FIM site and all it appears to have are the venues and officials, the GP site has nothing at all as far as I could see. I used a site (German I think) last year which had all the GP and qualifiers, World Cup and everything on, but that one does not seem to be running for 2010. Where have folks found the details as posted on here please, your help would be greatly appreciated Regards Martin

10th Year Pre Cardiff Entertainment

That field gun race lark is pretty spectacular, people have been known to lose digits and all sorts. I agree about those birds floating about last year, it was like watching paint dry. -
Tyson did a few laps after the Bees meeting last week, he looked fast and very assured bearing in mind he had never seen the Brandon track before. My friends and myself were very impressed.

Gp Grand Finalists
Beeone replied to barrow boy's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Surely it wasn't though, a rider could be comfortable in second place and not need to battle for the race win, second would keep you in. I didn't like that system, guys travelling across Europe and maybe only getting a couple of starts was just not practical. -

Who Can Be World Champion 2010 ?

According to Peter Oakes' column in the Daily Star today Crumpie is struggling even to be fit for the beginning of the season, surely that makes his favourite position in the odds an even worse deal. Aparently after several operations he has lost a lot of his bicep muscle and although he is working on it he simply doesn't have the strength back in his arm to ride a bike yet. -
Scottish Wc Squad

Speaking as a neutral,(an Englishman who would not actually see the series) it seems like an excellent idea, as someone has already said, minus Hancock, the current crop of American riders should provide an exellent test for a scotland team -
Magnus Zetterstrom In Gp Series

Personally I simply say give the guy a chance, he worked hard to get there and is in on merit, not one of the contentious wild card picks. If he fails then so be it, people cried out for a qualification system and now they have one with all that it entails. People cannot have it both ways, complaining about the selection system, then suggesting that Lindback or whoever would be better than a genuine qualifier. I rather hope the old boy makes an impression, but there have been more fancied riders than him that have failed, Zagar and Kasprzak spring readily to mind -

I guess not then, I don't think many people would be desparate to watch that. Even if England happened to be in it , they wouldn't know that until the week before -
Cardiff Gp2010 Start Time ?
Beeone replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I may be wrong but I seem to recall that the date for the Cardiff GP 2010 was put back by a couple of weeks to avoid Englands group games in the Football World Cup. Could it be that IMG are waiting for the full draw to be made in the hope that they can avoid clashing with an important match in the next stage of the competition. After all the time in South Africa is the same as here, so maybe if the GP started at five in the afternoon like last year, they may overlap with an afternoon match, or may possibly avoid overlapping with a night time fixture. Moving the start time by an hour or two could make a big difference as people could maybe catch the football in the pub or their hotel before or after the GP. I may be barking up completely the wrong tree, but I just thought it may be a possibility -
2010 Grand Prix wildcards
Beeone replied to gaztrotter's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Ok so substitute 'rate' for 'like' And by the way, what did he say on CWR, I didn't hear that part of the show, just caught the end of it Edited to say; - Ok just found the thread about CWR, not such a big deal IMO we all knew they didn't get along for ages, maybe should have kept it off air but he's not a trained broadcaster is he, maybe it was just something said on the spur of the moment. By the way, I'm far from being Chris Harris' biggest fan in case anyone thinks otherwise, but as I said on Nicholls' repeated inclusion in th GP series, he would be mad to turn it down if it is where he wants to be and it is offered -

Ok so you don't like Harris but in his last season in the GP Richardson was certainly more embarassing to watch IMO -

I don't personally see Harris as a World Champion, but he is a tenacious little sod and he says he is going to work at his set ups for slick tracks. That said, Tony Olsson may not set the tracks up in quite the same manner as his predecessor has, he hinted at this in an interview following his appointment. I defininely prefer Harris to Richardson, at least if Bomber misses the gate you know he will try everything for four laps, not suffer the tactical engine failure on lap four if behind! -

Actually yes, I enjoy a good circus. Get one every autumn on the common near where I live, excellent entertainment during the close season for speedway Because he was taken ill just before the semi-final. Bad luck, but that is sort of thing that would also have taken him out of the equation in the old World Final system. There is however no certainty that he would have made it through the semi anyway, after all one of many peoples favourites for a wild card Matej Zager didn't. -
Grand Prix Challenge.
Beeone replied to a4poster's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Absolutely not, the kid has had one decent season in th PL for Gods sake. He is nowhere near ready for the GPs, look at Holder as a case in point, he repeatedly said that he would not be ready himself until he had more experience of the top league, which he now has. As for British involvement, I reckon with the way things have worked out with Harris finishing fifth in the Challenge and the likely finishing order in this years GP, he may just sneak back in. Though I don't neccessarily think that would be a good thing, he is the British champion, so who can they legitimately promote above him, it's alright saying Rchardson this and Woffinden that, but neither made the Challenge final, and neither is British Champion. -

Beeone replied to a4poster's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Grandstand is free once you are in, unlike the world Cup, where tickets were sold at even more inflated prices. I will be in the stand, hopefully in my usual spot just behind the start line, andI'm sure Jaques will be in the vicinity too. For those wanting to get a good choice of seat, the gates are opening at 5.00 pm and it will be first come first served, so get there early for the best pick! Don't let Yorkie put you off from coming to what could be an entertaining meeting, we just talk amongst ourselves when he is waffling, and anyway he is less annoying than the porky chap at Wolves IMO. -

It seems to me that SKY are already showing that they are losing interest in covering GP speedway, why else would they have put two of them over to the red button. This is supposed to be speedways flagship competition, but it is increasingly being held on track surfaces that provide virtually no competitive racing at all. Surely as Havvy said, the guys who prepare the tracks week in and week out know better than Ole Olsen how to prepare these tracks for proper racing. Look what happened at Peterborough when Chapman ingnored Olsen's instructions and prepared the track properly, it produced possibly the best international event this year! If Sky did indeed pull the plug on the GPs I can't say I would blame them, after all how long can they justify showing events that their own commentators and studio experts cannot be positive about. How many times were the words "dissapointing" and "predictable" used last night? I think Havelock even used the taboo word "boring" on a couple of occasions. If the TV coverage disappears then the series would I guess lose a lot of the sponsors too, so would it be viable to still run it on that basis, it would be interesting to see what our continental contributors have to say about the coverage in their own countries. Are the TV presenters and indeed viewers around Europe as un-impressed with what they are seeing as ours are?
