Witches V Devils ( Pl ) 22-8-13

Nothing like keeping people informed - even I don't take 26 mins+ to send a tweet!. They only have to say yes or no or even still on at moment working on track. British Speedway at its best. -
Ipswich Vs Somerset Thursday 16th May 7.30pm Pl
nick replied to CardinalSin's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
If it's hit I think it will be much closer than 14 but I don't know who would be ideal for the Rebels if they needed more than a 3-3 in heat 15, I am expecting another max from Doyle. -
It went in 1987 after they tried out the 15 heats in the KO Cup, I prefer 15 heats but with the original tactical rules so that you can have as many as you like, IMO a lot of the problems this year have been caused by promotions agreeing the restaging dates or cup tie dates between themselves, I believe in the 70's these were organised by the BSPA and they also had designated weeks for the Cup competition. If this had occurred then League fixtures would have been moved back and the League Cup concluded in June/early July and we would not have had the Workington/Ipswich farce or in the Elite League drawn out of the hat option. The playoffs don't help and maybe next year they should just revert to home and away ties for the top four and do away with the round robin groups.

On the subject of Cam's injury, if we are to go with a NL guest then my personal choice would be Stefan Nielsen who rode well for Workington at Ipswich or I don't know about the averages but would Chris Mills fit?

Having been to both away meetings last week, the change was a no brainer, Doolan is in the same rut as he was in the middle of last season and with the playoff's disappearing into the sunset, we had to do something. I don't personally think that Poole will do much better and like Risager it will take time to come back to form, but Doolan had a disinterested look about him. Lanham was good at Sheffield and unfortunate with his engines at Leicester but once he drops from one then the pressure will be on, as he will need to reproduce his form at 3 and 5 at previous clubs. Risager needs a spell at reserve, following his two injuries, he seems to lack confidence if he enters the corner alongside someone, but this happened last year and he gradually improved as the matches went on. I would have like to have taken a chance on an untried rider but finances are tight and I think that is unlikely to happen until next season. Maybe then Lasse can return as he looked equally fed up on Saturday when he was left on his own when all the Lions were watching the last heat. Hope Kevin gets fixed up somewhere and maybe he will return in the future.

So Aljack, you would rather we didn't exist than perform as we are at present (which I will admit is not good at present (well at home). If you feel that strongly why don't you not go and just go to Mildenhall where they are doing well or maybe you could follow Poole as you seem to just want the glory years.

We won two trophies last year (Anglian Cup) and already have one in the cabinet this year (Anglian Cup). I know they don't really matter but Pete Simmons took offence when a mate of mine suggested that we only won one trophy last year, so we don't want to upset him if he reads this forum!.

Mildenhall V Scunthorpe - N L - Sunday 6th May 2012

Have to agree with previous posters, the scoreline did not reflect the racing Jacobs pass of Young on the line in ht 10 and the team riding of Heeps to hold out Irving in heat 13 was excellent, before his come from back race in heat 15 to join Jacobs. Irving was good for Scunny as was Young. Wish Adam a speedy recovery from his injury and I hope Martin Knuckley is ok after his coming together with Jamie Collins in the race to the line in heat 2 of the second half (I had to leave before the remaining heats so don't know whether he appeared again). Excellent track prep by young Mr Louis. The racing served up this year has been excellent so far. -

I may be wrong but I believe it is Danno Verge, named after Roland Danno who rode for Hsckney when Steve was a junior, if what Mike Western said at the Ipswich v Rye junior match is correct. -

Mildenhall V Kings Lynn - K O Cup 1st Leg - Sunday 15th April 2012

Unfortunately the person who kindly gave me a lift was frozen so left after the first meeting, so could anyone provide details of the second half racing. In respect of the main meeting I was against impressed by Stoneman whilst I think Nielsen will be piling on the points in a few meetings time. Really pleased to see Dan Halsey get his maximum as I think he and Joe will have a key part to play this season. I think Josh Bates (like Matt T at Ipswich) just needs to relax, he looks to me as if he is trying too hard at present and he certainly has the potential. -
Aljack, I haven't been to the Selkirk in last few years but it used to be split into two bars and I would assume that the event will be on the side of the pub which is close to the shops as the other side would be too small. As I don't know how many went last year it would be hard to judge on if it is large enough, but you can probably get a fairly large number on that side.

I would like to see more freedom for Managers, so maybe the number 1 rider can ride in any position (between 1-5) and reduce the double points allowed to 1, but allow as many other tacticals for use by other riders in the team if six down. At the moment if you fend off the two tac subs rides you are normally assured of a home win. Also the earlier the fixtures can be announced the better (helps for booking work holidays!).

As an Ipswich fan who takes an interest in our former riders (Miskowiak and Slabon in this case), can anyone enlightment me of the situation at their polish club, as far as I can tell, have they run out of money and have been kicked out of the stadium. I noted that they had insufficient riders to fulfill their fixture in Latvia, do our polish members expect them to see out the season.

Does anyone know whether Motors will be showing the 2010 season this year.
-
Why not try Mildenhall who are still team building, there is a link on the Witches website to Chris Louis by e-mail. The site is at http://www.ipswichwitches.co/

Just a question - if a BSPA consortium runs EL speedway at Kings Lynn, could Buster afford and have the option to run his own PL side in the same season?
-
So are you seeing Speedway in Sweden and Poland next year, most of the best don't ride in the "Elite".
-
Does this mean then from midday on Monday, the Witches can tap up your riders with Jonathan Chapman being upset!
-
Thanks Danish Webmaster.

A few years ago, I bought a few polish meetings on dvd of e-bay. Does anyone know where I can purchase meetings from.
-
Personally, I would like to see articles on Dennis Sigalos and John Cook - especially I would like to know the full background on why John left the club midseason and what he feels about costing us the 85 cup final as well his other more happier times with the Witches and Hull and either of the Hines brothers (Andy or Mick)
-
I assume with Charlie taking over Sara isn't coming back. She did a fine job hosting the two meetings and I think her errors are caused more by her excitement at what is going on. I think her partnership with Chris is excellent and all we need now is for someone to join Kelvin commentating maybe Johnno!.

Well done Jesper, any ideas where I can get the heat by heat details for all three rounds?
